AMAZING song! wub.gif wub.gif

In an ideal world this would be a monster smash.

Ideally this would smash but it feels like the era has been killed already from the album flopping so much.

She's obviously a singles artist so I don't think the album flopping will really matter tbh.

Ideally she should have released this as the lead single when "Close" started to peak worldwide.

I think they epically buggered up this campaign with the first single choice, if I'm honest.

I do like Cool Girl but this is better and I think Imaginary Friend and Lady Wood are my faves from the album, I think I'm like the only person who prefers this album a bit more than Queen Of The Clouds laugh.gif

I'm starting to like this album more than QOTC. Imo, Cool Girl was the perfect lead single choice but it was just too poorly promoted.

Imaginary Friend, Keep it Simple & Lady Wood are my favourites. I can see the first two being a single but the latter wouldn't connect with the public I don't think!

For me Cool Girl is one of my favourite songs of the year, people just read the song wrong, they think she is saying that she think she is cool... but that's not it at all, if people understood the lyrics more, It would have gone down better.... album wise, loving Keep It Simple especially, but this is definitely the best track on the album.

Lyrically the song is really hollow and borderline laughable, which is a shame as that's not her at all and the production on it is ace.

The more I listen to 'True Disaster', the more I can't bear the thought of it being released and doing nothing/being unnoticed. I need a miracle to occur here!

I prefer this single more than Cool girl too.

Cool Girl is not hollow lyrically whatsoever! If you choose to take it literally, perhaps, but it's clearly a comment on playing it cool to keep somebody when you'd actually rather have commitment but you don't wanna lose them. It's a great lyric. Also a fine lead single, True Disaster wouldn't have done any better. There are no big smashes on this album.

'Influence' should have probably been first, and then this.

Cool Girl just isn't what I wanted from her, it grew on me a lot but I still don't love it. This is a far better song and single, it bridges the gap between the two eras quite well. It's still subdued and cool, but the chorus packs a bit of the punch we know and love from songs like Not On Drugs and Thousand Miles.

cool chick was the anti-tove, wrong bpm, wrong feel, just not right...

'true disaster' is equisite: a tove progression and an outstanding pop song
