I can imagine this must have been frustrating for Madonna who was clearly forward-thinking and liberated. It's a shame that attitudes of that time overshadowed the fact that this is actually a pretty strong album, and really well produced! In This Life really caught my attention. It's such a tragic subject matter, but beautifully expressed. Pretty surprised to see a bunch of low scores given to it! 08.0 Survival 08.5 Secret 06.0 I'd Rather Be Your Lover 07.5 Don't Stop 07.0 Inside of Me 09.0 Human Nature 08.0 Forbidden Love 08.0 Love Tried to Welcome Me 08.0 Sanctuary 09.5 Bedtime Story 10.0 Take A Bow 06.5 Your Honesty ^  I really enjoyed Bedtime Stories! Out of her first 6 studio albums, I'd say that this is the most consistent overall listen. With the first few albums I think I'd rather pick and choose to hear to my favourite songs rather than listen from start to finish, but with this one I'd be happy to press play and hear it all the way through. An album! I really shouldn't have waited until now to give it a complete listen. So many keepers from her 90s back catalogue

Jay! Thank you so much for listening. Ray of Light really is a masterpiece and this rate is turning out a lot of Bedtime Stories lovers too
 A great rate overall - although you seem to have given Deeper and Deeper an 8 instead of a 10? U k?

Presumably it was considered as such as remixes were commissioned. Also yay at another Bedtime Stories fan!

I'm really not sure what took me so long to hear Ray of Light! Better late than never though
I wasn't anticipating Bedtime Stories to be as good as it is, mainly because I've never really noticed it being cited as one of her best! Having heard all of her albums now bar Madame X (a task for tomorrow  ), I'd possibly say... 1. Confessions on a Dance Floor / 2. Ray of Light / 3. Bedtime Stories
