DEFINITELY ended on a high Forgot about the three top 10s in a row at the start of the year though And I still think Dream Beats & Alcazar didn't deserve to come last in their semi, especially considering the much older (and IMHO not as good) Karma Karma went top 5... |

Ashton had a pretty pleasing year.
04-11-08-17-05-21-02-17-DNQ-15. 4 top10s, 4 top 20's a 21st and a DNQ is much better than recent years. |

Probably Emmon. I remember everyone was saying that I'd be top 10 with that, and then I flopped into 22nd with it. My 2nd favourite entry as well, behind Cady. Yeah, I can remember everyone saying that would do really well! However, I didn't like that entry much - but as you know I loved Cady and Alyssa This post has been edited by RC741: 5th December 2011, 09:00 PM |

Mine:
1-1-6-12-1-9-10-2-7-18 Very happy with that, slightly underwhelming finish to the year but I'm amazed with eight top tens including three wins and a 2nd place! My two countries of the year, based on points given throughout the year as a whole would be Espen and Ojnoj |

Yeah, I can remember everyone saying that would do really well! However, I didn't like that entry much - but as you know I loved Cady and Alyssa That must be why it flopped, I hadn't got you on board. It's actually really eerie for me how similar in results Cady and Alyssa ended up being. Same points, same position, one 12 (from you both times ), two 10s (one being from UnoShake both times), ended up right in the center both times after halfway through the results it was looking like flopping... And I didn't think they were even that similar. |

Would you mind holding off on that until the new year? We haven't finalised the TBO dates as of yet and that will impact when XLI starts. If you need any help/advice etc during your contest the mod team are more than happy to help. Even if you just want to check something to keep yourself right. You've been around for a while so I reckon you'll do a bang up job. Alright I will hold off on the Green room until the start of january, then. And I will remember that. Thank you! |

Farahtyn's come back has been a good year!
4-DNC-11-28-1-21-18-22 Two top tens, my first win, continuing ownership of the highest number of last places in the final. It's not been a brilliant year, but has been pretty consistant, only one massive mis-step, second contest back. Hopfuly I can do better next year! |

Not BAD I guess. I could do with a bit of consistency again. |

I've been complaining about wrong semi for near on 2 years now. It's one of those things we attempted to change with 1BF and in the end it was kind of decided semi's were worth the risk. Iirc it was you who wanted the semi's back Tyron. Indeed, but it doesn't necessarily mean that I don't think it's still a problem, merely that the loss from having 1BF wasn't worth the fairness. We can still have semis and attempt to resolve the issue... |

Indeed, but it doesn't necessarily mean that I don't think it's still a problem, merely that the loss from having 1BF wasn't worth the fairness. We can still have semis and attempt to resolve the issue... But without it being overly complicated and putting people off from joining BJSC? One advantage of 1BF was being so simple for new comers, semi's isn't quite as simple but it's still nice and easy. While semi's aren't perfect, far from it, they are best solution. It's a compromise, that I can't argue against, but it's a necessary evil. The logistics in trying to fit in what would effectively be a second chance round have been shot down before, if you remember we did have an in depth look at it before 1BF and decided that was the better system. Right now, we have some good momentum and I'm not keen to make changes that aren't entirely necessary again. We've been through that and when we came out the other end we didn't go so well. If we do re-examine this it won't be until a couple of months into the new year and TBO is out the way and we see how the Christmas break has affected participation. |

I wouldn't really say that a non-compulsory day or two whereby people are given a say on which non-qualifiers from the other semi deserve to go through would put off many (if any) people from joining.

Like I said, we have no plans to make any changes to the format in the immediate future.

Indeed, but:
Right now, we have some good momentum and I'm not keen to make changes that aren't entirely necessary again. We've been through that and when we came out the other end we didn't go so well. One Big Final is a BIT of a more drastic change than two days of accounting for the potential errors of semi allocation. One Big Final had an obvious effect on the contest (i.e. removing half of it and a lot of the excitement with it), a quick voting round wouldn't. We didn't particularly analyse how it would go in much depth as we thought OBF to be the obvious solution at the time. |

To be honest, I love the contest format the way it is! Although I see why you think it needs to be changed, I don't want the format to change!
