I really enjoyed that. It was great to see Lofty and Mary, I’ve only gotten to know them from Classic EastEnders recently but they were unmistakeable.
Quite enjoying Iqra and Habiba too. |

Stanning Habiba already. They're both great but I hope these hints of "facing the music" aren't one of those stereotypical plots where a character arrives with a secret which is dragged out for months, is actually nothing and then gets forgotten about like a week after it gets revealed.
Also stanning Sharon's hat, queen. |

Really lovely episode; it had the right amount of poignancy and respect in a way that felt generally authentic, save for a couple of minor points. Bringing back Lofty and Mary was genius and it was evident that their respective actors had not forgotten how to play them. It was nice to have that little insight into what they had been doing the past 30 years too. Those scenes really were handled perfectly.
I feel like people online are getting a little ahead of themselves regarding Iqra and Habiba but I do like them. Habiba isn't played quite as naturally but both sisters do seem to bring a new energy to the show and I think it will be interesting seeing them settle on the square. Also stanning Sharon's hat, queen. And Kathy's! A look! *.* |

Tonight's episode (Thursday) is Kate Oates' first episode credited as Senior Executive Producer. Queen of Soap is here. *.*

Kathy and Mel's scenes were so good *.* How did it take so long to have them properly on screen together?!
I'm enjoying Habiba and Iqra. Iqra is definitely the Ronnie and Habiba the Roxy of the two. |

Kathy and Mel's scenes were so good *.* How did it take so long to have them properly on screen together?! I'm enjoying Habiba and Iqra. Iqra is definitely the Ronnie and Habiba the Roxy of the two. For some reason the writers decided to isolate Mel from most characters for the best part of a year. This made it awkward when all these characters she never spoke to turned up and her wedding and we all wondered why any of them would care about Ray being a bigamist. With Hunter now gone, I really hope Mel has a big year and interacts with a lot of characters. I have a feeling she may plan to marry Ian for some money before the year is out. Which would actually complement 20 years since the Millennium Wedding. |

I don't think we have seen the last of Hunter either if I'm being honest.
The only thing that annoys me about Ray's death (excluding the massive plot hole of where did the car go with burst tyres?) is if they hadn't covered it up then surely it would have been self defence? Everything could have been traced back that Ray had Hunter etc and Mel had bruises which would go with that Ray was an abusive husband etc. It's all been a bit messy. |

Kathy was giving me life tonight. Bopping away with two proseccos in hand and dropping lines like "yeah he killed his sister, but you gotta move on".

There is a little swift in the episodes but by this time 3 months i am hoping to see the show taking big steps to being back on track.

Congratulations to Lacey who has announced she's pregnant! Wishing her a happy and healthy pregnancy.
Also actual Angie Watts at the Oscars! *.* So weird seeing Anita just referred to as "Brian May's wife" though. The US are not worthy. |
