Haha that’s what I always used to tell myself… and I’ve never sold any of them!

Didn't go this year (there wasn't anything I desperately wanted) but interesting that Chappell Roan has blown up since the list was originally announced, that demand will have shot up I imagine!

Well my local record store didn't have any of the ones I was interested in, ie Groove Armada, Orbital, Ladytron or Temples. It's so frustrating, every year they seem to over order on older artists that match the owners personal tastes rather than recognise which ones will potentially sell to a different audience

The guy in front of me (who pushed in…) bought the last copy of several I wanted (among his haul of £2,000 that he spent - eBay scalper???), including the one I most wanted from Nerina Pallot. Can only hope I can find it somewhere Monday night. Got there way too late for Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Lily Allen too sadly.
So I just got Kate Nash’s Back At School 7” and FIZZ - Live at Middle Farm 12”. I also bought Taylor’s CD while I was there and it came with a special letter written by her thanking people who bought it on RSD. |

This was 7th of 7 of the list I wanted, but I absolutely love this song. What a positive surprise! The production has garage influence, it's like Kate Nash meets Shanks & Bigfoot. So unexpected. Shame it's not on her new album, so presumably won't go onto streaming sites. This post has been edited by gooddelta: 20th April 2024, 08:32 PM |

Got the Nerina EP too from Wax & Beans, phew! All of the other sites are crashing, but seems Lily Allen and Sophie Ellis-Bextor are out of stock everywhere.

I'm late to mention this but I went out to Lichfield on RSD, that was the first time I've ever done it. My dad joined me - he was a little bemused that people do this but he kept me company and also went to get some food/water for us while we waited.
It took a long time... I think it was approaching 2 hours until it was finally my turn. It was a nice & sunny day though, and a pleasant vibe in the queue, so it wasn't too bad. I got Emma Bunton - A Girl Like Me, and the last copy of Steps - Deeper Shade of Blue, but they no longer had Olivia Rodrigo/Noah Kahan single, the Holly Humberstone/MUNA single, or Lily Allen (which I was trying to buy for HausofKubrick!). I tried to get the latter three in the eventual online sales but had no luck. Would I do it all over again and go out next year? Hmm... I guess it really depends what the list is like. It turned out I could have easily picked up Emma and Steps online, but it was nice to have them straight away rather than having to wait for them to be shipped. |
