This is a new adaptation of the Charles Dicksons classic seasonal tale with a lot of great actors including Steven Graham.

This isn't quite the cosy tale we're used to, is it? laugh.gif

Yeh it's Steven Knight so I knew it'd be gritty and dark.

I enjoyed it a lot though.

It certainly has, I'm gonna go watch the Muppets adaptation now just to get some light relief! laugh.gif

I'm a little bit mixed with this so far, aesthetically it's great and I really like that they're doing something very different with the tale so it does feel fresh, but at the same time, I think it's just a tad too much removed from the sentiment of the original story. Its core theme is redemption and it's becoming extremely difficult to do that with this Scrooge after this episode! I am interested to see how it concludes and I really hope they don't change the ending as that would be truly jumping the shark.

Also, I think would've worked better as a one-off special rather than a series, bits of it are SO dragged out needlessly and yet there's still two ghost visits to come!

Is Tom Hardy one of the ghosts?

I understand you struggling to feel redemption for Ehenezer but we saw a little of what's to come with him realising his sister brought him back from boarding school. He's showing his dark side with Crachets wife though!

Looking forward to the final part tonight.

Yep... if you blinked you missed him, he is also in the end credits, but not as a cast character, you need to watch closely once the credits start rolling. lol

Oh I think I saw him but wasn't sure. Thought he had a major role as one of the ghosts and would be in tonight's episode.

Furthermore, I'm not entirely engrossed in the series, its had it fair share of boring bits where the script tends to drag a bit, but I'm sticking with it to see how it ends.
