Hello dance forum regulars and visitors.

We all know that dance is the best genre, and now we have the opportunity to showcase the best of what the genre has to offer with the other genre forums (Pop, Indie/Rock/Alternative, R&B/Urban), as well as the Eurovision forum because why not?

There are eleven songs here and our job is to take through our four favourites to the Grand Final.

Well that doesn't seem fair, some people like me tend to look at the entries already given and think of alternatives.

I wouldn't say that those finalists are the best of what was put forward by others.

It was made clear in the nominations thread that only the songs with the most nominations would go to the final. Otherwise we'd have too many songs in the final.

Yea Andrew, that part of the rules was made clear in both the nominations and base camp thread, it was up to you whether you nominated something already suggested or not, it's perfectly fair.

I kind of agree with awardinary on this though. Here was the original post in the nominations thread:

• You may post up to five nominations in this thread. The songs with the most nominations will go towards our national final where four songs will be chosen to compete against the other forums.

Personally, I tend to skim-read and I don't always read the non-bolded bits, so I don't really think it was made that clear that the songs with the most nominations would go to a final. I assumed there would be some sort of semi-final or something.

I do know that's my fault though, I just wondered how many people felt like this

oh, same with Pete. Anyway, I've found something really cool for my chart among those who 'had no chance' to pass; also I've posted up such tracks (like "abandon hope all ye who enter here" lol). It's still a good way to know preferences of BJ people in music. Thank you for making this possible
p.s. I also was heavily surprised about Free Tibet had won BJSC, cuz I've never heard of it until the remix came out.

These aren't necessarily my top 5 songs, but I wanted to vote for 5 songs that each represented a different part of dance, in order to represent the breadth of what is in this forum (PC Music, electronic/synth dance, the more mainstream artists, trance and dubstep respectively here).

That's something we could discuss with the genre forum mods. This first one is just a bit of a trial to see what works and how it could improve.

I'm hoping there will be more but with varying themes, I don't really know what you mean by semi-finals tho? Like have more songs and then split into two semis like BJSC? It's a possibility I guess, it would mean no shortlisting after nominations which would probably please more people but then idk how we'd sort who votes for what etc

I actually don't care about the nominees besides Armin Van Buuren...I find everything else way to commercial and more pop than dance.
