QUEEEEN. One of the very best actresses of all time.

She deserved all the praise and awards she got for The Reader, sublime movie and a masterclass in acting.
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind was also really good.

I always feel like Little Children gets overlooked despite the nom, another strong show by her.

Labor Day is probs one of my favourites by her and wish that got more praise. The Holiday is my fave but its not really "Oscar worthy" laugh.gif

Just seen Little Children tonight meaning I've now seen all of these and I'd rank the performances like so, tough to do as she's always great really!

1 Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
2 Sense and Sensibility
3 The Reader
4 Little Children
5 Steve Jobs
6 Titanic
7 Iris

She was my big highlight of Eternal Sunshine, SUCH an interesting character and easily her stand-out role for me, it's crazy she didn't win an Oscar 'til her sixth try. I'd have probably given it to her on the first attempt (especially over Mira Sorvino!! laugh.gif), she's very sweet and charming in S&S and really suited the role, I warmed to her more than Emma Thompson's character. I liked the sexual confidence and emotion she portrayed in both The Reader and LC but probably more so in the former although her teary moment in the latter where she thinks she's lost her daughter is excellently acted. I loved her in Steve Jobs too and she nailed the real life Joanna's rather odd accent, I still remember how great she was in the scene where she's throwing all the papers on the floor (I'd have still given Vikander the win this year though). Titanic wouldn't work without Kate in the lead role and it's deservedly her most iconic role although it's not one of her most exciting films even though I like it, the ending still makes me come close to tears. Iris is a pretty easy last-placer for me, she doesn't really do much in the film and Jim Broadbent/Judi Dench have the far more exciting storyline and flashier scenes.

Her upcoming Woody Allen film is probably one of my most hyped movies of 2017, hope she can sneak an 8th nom ohmy.gif

Titanic & Eternal Sunshine are two of the best performances of all time. Both Oscar worthy. <3

Also I loved her in Revolutionary Road and wished she managed to get a nom for that as well in 2008 sad.gif

Easily my fave actress of all time. Terrific body of work!
My fave performance has to be Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, with Little Children and The Ready as close second/third.
How AMAZING would it have been if she got the lead nom for The Reader and best supporting nom for Revolutionary Road (with the latter being the strongest performance imo, she could have won two oscars in one year ohmy.gif ).
I'm always fascinated by her work, and as Josh stated above, her upcoming Woody Allen film is highly anticipated by me wub.gif
