There's too many rumours so imma open a thread

Quite a lot of ppl think Taylor is dropping/announcing something on Wednesday?

Katy keeps liking Taylor's tweets. Taylor added NRO at 13 on her Apple Music playlist, both have teased something to do with let it go in the past couple of months and Katy's just posted a pic on insta about peace/tagging Taylor and the pic is def in Taylor's NYC apartment & Taylor commented 13 hearts. SOMETHING IS HAPPENING OKAY?!!

I'm not entirely sure how I feel about the next single being another collab but I guess I'll wait to see how good it is (if its true). I just feel like these big hyped up collabs never end up living up to the hype. I Don't Care and Can't Remember To Forget You come to mind

Yeah that's my only issue, I think it tends to be that when you have two huge artists you almost expect twice the slayage so you feel let down when/if the song is just "good enough".

I couldn't disagree more with this - Gorgeous was never a highlight for me, limo was definitely the word, but this has so much more oomph! Love the lyrics, it's instantly catchy and adds an extra layer of depth which ME! didn't have. Brilliant!!

I agree with blacksquare, this feels like a retread of some of her past work but with less punch. Just seems like Taylor on autopilot? Disappointed as I actually liked 'ME!' quite a bit.

I quite like it but it does feel a bit done before for taylor and also some of the lyrics are a bit meh "You need to just stop..like can you just not" this made me cringe Shame as ME! I really enjoyed but this is just good.

I feel like this is nicely in between 1989 and Reputation, really liking it! Not sure if I prefer it to Me, but the production is great and it's another good sign for the album.

This is nice, it’s not instant by any means but I think I get the lyrics. It’s another song where Taylor takes a more self-aware approach and creating a response to Look What You Made Me Do and This Is Why We Can’t Have Nice Things. She probably listened to themose two tracks and saw herself acting like a toddler who got sent to time out and threw temper tantrums all over the place. The more juvenile tone only exemplifies this: she’s talking to herself like a child bc she’s admitting that she acted like one for two damn years.

I appreciate what she's trying to do here (all for her dropping a Pride anthem etc.) but this is just not a good song, there are far too many cringeworthy lyrics. And I say that as someone who quite likes 'ME!'

I really like this after a couple of listens. The production is a lot more chilled than ME!, it's quite Blank Space in places. I don't see it being a huge hit unfortunately but I'd say it's my favourite single of hers since the 1989 era!

Currently 4 on iTunes and 17 on Spotify. Still no hot hits UK ffs, hopefully it gets added tomorrow around the same time the video drops. Should be good for a top 10 debut *.*

Really good video! I was relieved to see it was just the length of the track! Love how colourful it is as well as how it's message was quite simple but powerful. I did enjoy Katy and Taylor reuniting but not sure how relevant it was to the whole package? Is the song a message to her former herself as well as the 'haters'?

It's a shame the video has had such a backlash, I think it's really well made and cute, even though I can understand some of the critiques. The part with Katy at the end genuinely made me emotional.

In terms of the song, it's far from her best, but I'm glad it's an improvement on 'Me!', even her fans seemed to turn on her for that one so I'm glad this one is a bit more palatable and less radio MOTR radio pandering. It's like a more enjoyable (actually good) version of 'Gorgeous' to me.

That video's a bit...misguided isn't it? I'm understanding the criticism, it's obvs a nice attempt with the best intentions, but she just can't help but turn it about herself. Look at the reaction and see how most of the focus is just on her and Katy Perry not "feuding" anymore and not the actual Pride message, they feel almost shoehorned in next to the references to her own detractors. The stereotyping of homophobic people as uneducated rednecks isn't good either, homophobia comes from a lot of places, some even running the country...

As for the song, it's OK, I much prefer it to ME, but feels difficult to judge outside it's context. Took me a while to place what the chorus sounds like, but I think I'm hearing this

I do too! I think the general consensus is the opposite but ME! was just much more exciting and interesting. They're both pretty basic pop songs and ME! definitely has the worst lyrics out of the two but ME!'s video and general melody are great. I find everything about YNTCD quite cheap, both the video and production (eek, i said it)

I still prefer Me! too, I get why people didn't and don't like it but I find myself still going back to more than I am the fresher You Need To Calm Down, it's good but I doubt it'll end up being one of my faves on the album whereas I imagine Me! most probably will.
