Trying to work from home as much as possible now. Someone at my workplace has all the symptoms.
Trying to be considerate to my husband who has lung problems and my youngest daughter who is 12 weeks pregnant. It's so weird that three months ago we hadn't even heard of coronavirus. |

I was going to post Robbie's song Random Acts of Kindness but changed my mind as the lyirics might scare some folk at this time
For those about to die we salute you For those of about to cry we love you For those of us who live in fear |

There were no parades here today , people were out & about. I see in France they are making people stay at home which is terrible really, it will affect peoples mental health

So many businesses in trouble.
My daughter works for a company who plan charity money raising events. All the events are cancelled and they were sat there today looking at each other with nothing to do. Half the staff have been laid off. The others offered unpaid leave. The ramifications of this virus are so wide spread. |

Surely you can still go visit and elbow bump even if you're not kissing/hugging? The bloody lack of social contact will kill more people than the virus. |

The ramifications of this virus are so wide spread. I am working from home , we work for our Corporate office in the US so are lucky enough so far . I was in town at lunch time , went into the supermarket & they had continuous announcements to keep moving etc , bit like the army had taken over. Seriously though they need to get on top of it asap so it;s vital people do as they are told by the NHS . Do you know some idiot doctor in the UK said we ha not equivalent of the NHS here is Ireland , does he think we live in the dark ages I hope that people learn something from this & not take everything for granted like we all do at times , we are so used to doing what we like, going where we like without question, this is surely shock to the system . Loads of people temporarily laid off etc, it really is shocking & very sad .. |

The bloody lack of social contact will kill more people than the virus. I agree Laura, people will end up with terrible mental health problems. I called to some elderly folk at lunchtime & gave them my mobile number in case they need anything , it can be very scary at a tie like this & it's helps for someone to know that they can call someone |

Most stores are now closed here with the exception on pharmacies & supermarkets , not sure how the Primark addicts will cope .
Hope all of you are keeping safe along with your families ... |

How on earth do they think that the Olympics can go ahead , it's not fair on the athletes , I doubt they can even train properly at the minute .

we are in the third week of home office. Nl is handling this quite unpanicked. Some fear most people are simply coping. Germany is panicking. As we are an international team people are in fear for their families especially if they live in the South

Some people in Germany may be panicking but some not at all. There are recommendations to keep a distance of 2 m to others and to avoid social gatherings, but if you are queuing at a checkout the next person is right on your heels and ice cream parlours, restaurants and our local market square are crowded with people closely side by side. The schools are closed but lots of kids run around outside and play close together.
This is probably the reason why more and more urgent recommendations are being made and stronger measures are considered. So perhaps the actions look like panicking from the outside but in fact they only become neccessary just because lots of people do the opposite of panicking and don't take the situation seriously. People should think about the impact of what they are doing. This is not a game.

Some people in Germany may be panicking but some not at all. I think UK is a mixture of those panicking (went to Sainsbury supermarket tonight and the shelves had been stripped bare ) and those who aren't worried enough and still using bars and the tube in London. Somewhere in the middle are the rest of us. Interesting today Boris Johnson gave a reference of 12 weeks when he thinks it may have peaked and we could start getting less cases. I don't know if that was wise or not. But what's going on in Italy? Their cases are shocking. |

Still safe and well here. My parents are mainly staying home apart from the odd shop and walk around the block. Have to get my dad to have a hair cut soon, 12 weeks isolation will mean he will soon look like a wild man!

The Government here drew up new legislation today to take people off the streets if they do not do as they are told
We lived on an island here , surrounded by water , we have a population of 5 million, we have a better chance than those living in mainland Europe as do the UK, we are not attached to any other countries & if everyone acts in the way that they should then our health boards should get on top of it, if we cannot succeed here what chance have other countries. I heard on the BBC news tonight that Boris Johnson has been in touch with Leo Varadker ( our Taoiseach/Primerminister ) & they are trying to now use the same methods to try & get on top of this situation . The numbers here are increasing every day & are expected to do until the end of the month when they then hope to see either a leveling off or a decrease in the numbers which would be due to the current measures which were put in place at the end of last week , that is how it works. The government here are not happy with the actions of the younger people here so I can see them been taken off the streets & fined , I can understand that younger folk do not see the seriousness of what is happening but I hope they do before it's too late ... |

I think with the pubs/clubs closed now - it will give us a better chance of beating it quickly.
