 Another reason to get excited about Autumn '13, the Canadian band confirmed that their new album (their fourth LP) will be out in late October and that the first single from it would be released in early September. Yes that's right - they are actually going to be releasing singles this time! James Murphy is on production duties and has described the album as "It's really f***ing epic". This from Pitchfork: QUOTE As announced last week via a Twitter @ reply to a fan, Arcade Fire have a new album coming on October 29. James Murphy, who worked on the record, recently spoke with NME about it. At this point, he says his work on the record is finished, but, "For them, it's not finished until it's in stores."
"They're all so phenomenally talented and full of ideas so songs keep on coming," he added. "The last time I dared think it was finished I came back to the studio three days later to mix and they'd written two new songs for the album!" He also said that Régine Chassagne, who was pregnant during some of the recording (she's married to bandmate Win Butler), worked in the studio "up until, like, the very final point she possibly could in the studio before giving birth. All of them, they're so committed to making this record." Murphy didn't give much of a description of how the album sounds, but did offer up, "It sounds like Arcade Fire in the way that only Arcade Fire sound like Arcade Fire, you know? It's really f***ing epic. Seriously. I mean, I feel at this point like I'm too close to it to really talk it up and do it justice. You know?" Yussss! They have a hell of a lot to live up to after The Suburbs, but their albums are always so incredible as a whole (it's actually tough to name a highlight on The Suburbs as all the tracks are really great in their own way) that I'm sure they won't let us down.

"Reflektor", the title track, will be released as a SINGLE (Yes, a single - they've decided they are going to start releasing them again) on the 9th September at 9pm... I'm presuming US time (centre of the world) so we will probably get it on the 10th September.
