Congratulations to Pete, a quick look around the Sports forum suggests the promotion of a frequent and insightful poster to the moderator team can only benefit the forum!

Thanks to all for the opportunity to moderate the Sports Forum over the last few years - I've been feeling for a while like the forum could do with some fresh blood and ideas, especially during a World Cup year. I'm looking forward to seeing what the mods have planned for that!

I'll still post in there as much as possible, lamenting the state of West Ham and in excitement of the tournament in Russia this summer. Good luck Pete.

Ooh congrats Pete! I have been popping my head into the Winter Olympics thread from time to time and you've been a consistent and fab contributor in there. Best of luck with your new role. I am sure you'll do a fabulous job! Gotta say that ML Hammer's shoes are big ones to fill, he has become synonymous with the Sports forum to me alongside Mack. Cheers for all your work in there even if I only contribute rarely.

I think Houdini should be next in line if there is ever a vacancy in the Sports Forum, you can all think what you want about him but he is undeniably a very passionate and regular contributor to the Sports and Fitness Forum and deserves to be a moderator there one day imo.

I don't frequent the Sport forum all that often but I know ML Hammer did a great job as mod here so thank you for everything
