I cannot BELIEVE it's almost 15 years old! Where has the time gone??
Still an absolute masterpiece of a pop song, I can't believe the dross that reality TV winners get stuck with nowadays when this easily shows that putting effort in right at the start pays off in the long run. Let's remind ourselves of that glorious moment (LMAO at Simon Cowell at the start of this) |

It really is such a flawless debut single, reality show winners these days wish they could have a debut as strong as this

Wow I hadn't seen that performance in years! The start of something incredible. Nadine really shines!
15 years on ( ) and the song still seems so fresh & exciting to me, and it did in a massive way in 2002. Everything was perfect, a pop classic & a sensational debut! Its sales have now increased to 715,000... but it should be a million seller tbh x |

'Sound of the Underground' is one of the first songs I ever remember hearing on the radio *.* such a perfect springboard for their career! I'm so glad they rightfully triumphed because One True Voice's debut was so drab and unoriginal, whereas this was very edgy and exciting for a girl-group.
It has stood the test of time very well still can't get enough of that surf guitar and catchy chorus. |

I can detect how Sound Of The Underground's style was maybe slightly inspired by Puretone's Addicted To Bass earlier in the year.
Really liked it at the time and thought it was so much better than One True Voice's debut single! One of the strongest debuts ever by a pop artist I would say. |
