The same here! I know some weak rubbish made it to top spot that week.

I had the V album as a Christmas present from my first bf. Probably has not been listened since 2008(we broke up Jan 09). Lol.

From the boyband thread....."Rescue Me" by Ultra. Top 10 in January 1999...not the best song in the world, but took advantage of the "Nothing is going to be released week":

The Offspring - Why Don't You Get A Job? - This was a #2 in May 1999. This song is not known. I am surprised George Osborne has not used this as an anthem:

Saying it's "not known" is a bit of a stretch, the line "my friend's got a girlfriend and he hates that bitch" did the rounds at my school as little as a couple of years ago.

Seemed to go down surprisingly well when I heard it in a club last year too, everyone seemed to remember it and be singing along ohmy.gif

Blue - Fly By

Bomfunk MC's peaked at #11 here and Fly By II is still regularly played on the radio, maybe more than any of their other singles.

Fair enough to all the others though! The late 90s/early 00s was a breeding ground for top ten hits that would have never happened in the current slower climate.

I still hear this so often, forgotten it certainly isn't. I loved it briefly at the time but it got ridiculously overplayed and I haven't quite been able to love it again since. sad.gif

Gimme The Light is one of only 3 Sean Paul top 10 hits I've heard. The other two being Like Glue and (obviously) She Doesn't Mind. I might have heard some of the others but they don't ring a bell immediately.

Hasn't anybody mentioned The Saturdays' 'If This Is Love' (#8) and 'Forever Is Over' (#2)? I know they're quite recent (2008 and 2009) but for christ sake these are forgotten.

From late 2007...."Delivery" by Babyshambles. I am sure this group is more remembered for Pete Doherty.

early 2006....."Is It Just Me" by The Darkness...they were on the wane at this point, and this is not as known as "One Way Ticket To Hell and Back"

I know this was a tie-in with World Cup 2006....but no-one knows this; Sham 69 ft the The Special Assembly with "Hurry Up England":

Heard this song a few years ago, tried to find out what it was, and it turns out that it reached #9 in 1994:

A couple of others to add:

Bell & Spurling - Sven Sven Sven
Stuntmasterz - The Ladyboy Is Mine

I remember that All Star Tribute....did not like it at all.

Mandy Moore - Candy - one of the Christina/Britney wannabees clogging the charts between 2000 and 2001.

In fairness, this wasn't that bad!

Big Brovaz - "OK" - I doubt anyone can remember this....I know this was popular with the chavvy lads in my college class:

Shania Twain - "Kerching" - It has a good message, but no-one remembers the song....I would add that coma ballad "Forever and Always" to the list but I know of a few people who have been married playing that at their weddings:

Westlife - "Tonight" - Perhaps the best song they ever did! And one of the few original songs too.....popular in fandom and those with good memories, but not that known.

Daniel Beddingfield - "I Can't Read You" - People only know "Gotta get thru this" and "If you're not the one" of his...plus Natasha's "I love you, I love you, I love you":

David Sneddon - "Don't Let Go" - One of the most unknown of talent show winners.....my Dad had his album and it was very decent. I like this:
