Sunday Chart Predictions
Predicting the 14/12 to 20/12 chart Will bringing 'Uptown Funk' from the horizon drown Oliver's chances of #1? This chart marks a rather mysterious one since, as things stand today, there is no clear idea as to what will be #1 tomorrow or next weekend. Oliver Heldens & K Stewart's 'Last All Night (Koala)' is a hot contender although, after surprising all and shooting to the top spot on iTunes with 'Drown', British metalcore band Bring Me the Horizon could potentially claim the top spot in tomorrow's update. The physical copy of Band Aid 30's charity single has been released which could also disrupt things at the top. Not only this, but following its release date being brought forward six weeks to today, Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars' 'Uptown Funk' could snatch the number one before the end of the week. Elsewhere in the chart, new entries should come from Fifth Harmony's 'Bo$$' and CHVRCHES' 'Get Away'. With a busy week of promotion, Ed Sheeran could re-climb to #1 with x for a 10th week. Previous #1s from Take That, One Direction, Sam Smith and George Ezra are continuing to sell well which could see them all complete the Top 5. Popular new entries this week should include Union J's You Got It All - The Album and Bastille's VS. (Other People’s Heartache, Pt. III), with others coming from Andre Rieu, J. Cole, Smashing Pumpkins and The Hobbit: The Battle Of The Five Armies OST and re-entries from Collabro and Sam Bailey. ======================================================= Please note new changes to the Sunday Chart Predictions thread topic: Tuesday/Thursday - There will be no mids from MW for Tuesday and Thursday, however they may come from other sources - this is not always guaranteed. You can still post your own predictions for the week to generate chat to the topic. Possibly the most unpredictable chart of the year? Although Mark Ronson are probably looking like a safe number 1 even without Sunday sales/streams. I'm really interested to see how Band Aid's physical sells, can't really predict it, it'll need something big to make up for this huge decline.

Oh so Uptown Funk has been brought forward? Sensible decision really. Might still not be enough to dislodge Sheeran.

We may get one or two more Christmas songs in the chart tomorrow as both iTunes and Google Play are selling a number of them at knockdown prices.
iTunes has a number of Christmas songs for 59p including The Pogues featuring Kirsty MacColl, Wizzard and Bing Crosby. Google Play are selling them for a mere 19p! In addition to the three acts mentioned Google Play also have Slade, Shakin' Stevens and John Lennon for 19p. And even more of a bargain - both 'All I Want For Christmas Is You' by Mariah Carey and 'Last Christmas' by Wham are currently free to download on Google Play. I don't know if sales from Google Play of the last two tracks will be chart eligible though. However, if they were sold for a mere penny then they definitely would be chart eligible so long as Google Play pays the minimum dealer price of 40p to the record label so does selling them for 1p less make those sales chart ineligible? |

But Gecko had a bit of streaming support. So it may end up like this:
sales will probably get Baid #2 and Taylor #3. |

It is all a bit up the air this week but that's exactly why it's so interesting! Already had a fair few changes of iTunes #1 this week and could be in store for more. Incredibly open, just a shame some have a massive streaming advantage because if it were a sales only week I would have absolutely no idea who'd be #1!

It's not up in the air at all. Mark Ronson will very easily be number 1 on sales, and quite possibly Top 10 on streaming too. Had he not been released then the #1 on sales only would've been difficult to call but there would have been no stopping Ed Sheeran on yet another low sales week.

Uptown Funk should easily dislodge Ed Sheeran 57k for last week should easily surpassed 95k+ surely, it be interesting to see how well Band Aid 30 will do on physicals, also not forgetting all the promo on TV with Ed performing, its going to be an interesting week.
Its a shame really as it might go back to #1 in the new year, after the X Factor winners single, if the track gets there. If Fleur wins she might even release her version of Uptown Funk as her winners single, Simon knows he be on the money with it. |

I wonder where Fleur would have ended up if her song had been allowed to chart, also Uptown Funk being brought forward could actually cost the x-factor winner a number one

Will be interesting to see how well the Band Aid 30 physical CD is selling. Will get a better idea of how much it will impact the chart tomorrow. Unless that sells a ridiculously large amount, I can't see anyone beating Mark Ronson & Bruno Mars this week.

You can't just push a single that is a cover of a song that's been released the week before, especially one that's guarenteed to be at least Top 2 |
