It's the biggest climb ever to top my chart, I think, up from 74 to 1 for Sigma and Jack Savoretti's You And Me As One, all moody drum'n'bass dance. That's a second chart-topper for Sigma, following 2014's Changing with Paloma Faith - yes I didn't think it was 5 years ago either! It's also their 5th Top 10 in 6 years, all of them collaborations. Jack Savoretti has been releasing most of the tracks off his latest album as singles at a furious pace, seemingly, Candelight going top 10, as did his Kylie duet, which makes this his 5th top 10 in 4 years and first chart-topper.

Mountains hasn't quite reached the summit, sadly, while a showstopping performnace on Jools Holland helps Celeste climb to 4 - just piano and her voice. Amazing. Harry Styles is on the verge of the top 10, having never previously made the top 40, and out-performing every single One Direction track by hitting 11. PNAU get a second top 40 of the year, their 8th in total not including other projects, Liam Gallagher was also on Jools Holland and gets a 3rd top 40 of the year, just behind Bruv, while the highest new entry is Coldplay, back with Orphans at 33, and Arabesque at 71, hot off the new album due shortly. They seem to be following in the uncredited World Music project they've been involved in recently, soundwise, rather than traditional Coldplay, and are diving into social commentary too.

Pet Shop Boys release a single of Dreamland remixes and another with B sides - as always, I opt for the extra tracks not extended more-of-the-same - with An Open Mind at 40, the lads still in social commentary mode, and ditto for the song written for the musical My Beautiful Laundrette, based on the early 80's film, with No Boundaries sneaking in with Asian sounds at the lower end. Rick Astley is back with another vocal stormer at 60, 32 years into his career while Never Gonna Give You Up is probably more popular than ever these days as a classic oldie - it was featured at my brother's 60th Saturday, along with Dance Monkey and Everywhere, 3 charting tracks played by the DJ. My voice is now croakey from 4 hours of singing and talking, not used to it these days

First Aid Kit return with 2014's My Silver Lining, selling well currently, while Galantis finally follow-up their 2017 chart-topper True Feeling, by calling on Dolly Parton for their 5th charter in 4 years, Mr Probz gets a second, and Dolly Parton gets her first new material since her movie theme song with Sia last year, her 18th of the 21st century, and a chart career going back to top 10 Jolene in 1976. 43 years ain't bad, and driving a bus to boot in the new video.
