 44 Anson Seabra Nationality: American Current age: 26 Year of first single: 2018 Another more recent discovery, Anson Seabra's music contains a vibe that is generally quite different to most other artists here. A pianist and a songwriter as well as a singer, Anson's music is much more delicate and emotional than your typical twink music. He was recommended to me by a friend I made at an Alec Benjamin concert, and I really fell in love with Last Time in particular, becoming his first, and so far only top 10 hit. Anson's debut "EP" (it's 15 songs so that's pushing the term a little x) reached #1 in my album chart earlier in the year! Anson gains bonus points for delivering a consistent quality - his album was strong throughout, even though I'd like to hear him step outside of his comfort zone in the future! Another one to watch going forward.  43 Union J Nationality: British Current age: 27-32 Year of first single: 2013 Originally auditioning as Triple J on The X Factor, the trio of JJ, Josh and Jaymi became Union J when George joined the line-up at judges' houses. I quite liked them on X Factor but I preferred their post-show material more, actually! Their self-titled debut album was pretty strong and better than the singles suggested (though Carry You remains quite good). You Got It All - The Album came next in all its ugly title glory, and was even better. Tonight (We Live Forever) is their best track in my eyes and You Got It All almost making it to #1 was a great moment to watch! As far as boybands go, Union J were never my favourites, but their strong material couldn't be ignored (and a shoutout to George's solo material which produced some pretty solid tracks too!).  42 Jai Waetford Nationality: Australian Current age: 21 Year of first single: 2013 Another X Factor star, though not from the UK version! Jai Waetford came third on The X Factor Australia 2013 when he was just 14 years old. I really liked his debut single, Your Eyes, released right after the series ended, but Jai really settled into a groove with single Living Not Dreaming, and the Heart Miles EP that it came from. Chilled, tropical dance-pop was a great fit for him! He's since ventured into a more R&B and hip-hop route, with highlights including Champagne and Drunk Together. Jai's been hit and miss over his career but when he wants to, he's capable of bringing a really good song!  Union J of course a massive favourite both on XF and afterwards. Jai's more recent music isn't amazing but earlier bops like Get to Know You, Living Not Dreaming, etc are pop perfection! <3 |

With Timbaland, Emma Bunton and Nick Carter as "architects" and Rita Ora hosting, the aim was to create a new boyband from the solo auditionees. Over a series of weeks, the hopefuls formed a number of groups to show their boyband potential, narrowing the field down before a final five were voted into the final group In Real Life. The lucky winners were Brady Tutton, Chance Perez, Drew Ramos, Michael Conor and Sergio Calderon, and their debut single Eyes Closed was released immediately after the final. I instantly loved Eyes Closed, and I've enjoyed a fair few of their releases since then too, though debut (and only) album She Do was a bit of a disappointment on the whole. The group have now separated but I'm glad we got a series of bops beforehand!  40 CNCO Nationality: American / Puerto Rican / Cuban Current age: 19-24 Year of first single: 2016 Another boyband formed on a talent show - this time La Banda, a show created by Simon Cowell - CNCO are a Latin pop boyband who debuted in 2016 with their album Primera Cita. Globally, they're most known for huge smash hit Reggaetón Lento (Bailemos), of course remixed with Little Mix for its UK push. CNCO are more than just that song, though. Self-titled sophomore album is a superb slice of just how good Latin pop can be, with Sólo Yo and Se Vuelve Loca being particular highlights. Their subsequent material has sadly faded more into the background, hence a lower position, but that album remains top notch!  39 Andreas Wijk Nationality: Swedish Current age: 27 Year of first single: 2018 Now for a twink I discovered via one of our very own Buzzjackers! Harry directed me to Andreas' single FLAWS which I liked, though I wasn't sure it would end up leading to any sort of sustained interest. Jump forward a few months, and a few missed singles, and I checked out Andreas' album at the very start of 2019 - I was impressed! The album made #1 in my chart and NuMb ❄︎ became his first top 10 in my chart. I think there's a lot more to come from Andreas too, so I'm excited for "Season 02" to begin! In Real Life are decent but I think I listened to She Do a total of about three times and haven't gone back to it since.
Could probably do with another single from them!Sadly outside of Reggaetón Lento CNCO are very hit and miss for me.  Some of their songs are nice bops, others are... not great. Here's hoping they can have a proper moment soon.Andreas is Season 02 ever going to happen at this point though? </3

oops CNCO are the only ones I know. I do enjoy a latin pop bop, though, and I guess the equivalent in previous decades for Twinkpop would be boyband, many of whom were fab. Hi 'Nsync!

Don't know a lot of these but Anton Hagman, Union J and CNCO I'm familiar with. Out of these Anton is probably the only one to have charted more than one song for me but his debut melfest entry still bangs hard to this day. I was so sad that he was paired off with Loreen in andra chansen because I wanted both to qualify so bad.
Hoping to see some more (scandinavian) familiar faces like Viktor Leksell, Isac Elliot, Christopher, Jesper Jenset although I have no idea if you'd consider any or all of them fitting as twinkpop as I don't know what most of them look like

Jai has a good voice but other than a couple of decent singles early in his career he's released a lot of crap

 38 PRETTYMUCH Nationality: American Current age: 20-23 Year of first single: 2017 With most boybands, they seem to have already gathered some sort of fanbase by the time I discover them (The Vamps, 5SOS, Why Don't We), but I actually remember the build-up to PRETTYMUCH's first single, because they were signed to Syco and had a certain level of hype already. In fact, debut single Would You Mind actually debuted at #100 in the UK, indicating a really strong start for them, but they didn't quite take off beyond that. Success isn't everything, though, because they released a really strong run of singles. The near-fully-acapella Open Arms was a gorgeous track for the winter in 2017, while collabs with Rich the Kid, CNCO and French Montana proved to be really strong singles too. Things seemed to have fizzed out a little this year, though, and with Syco over, it's hard to tell what the future holds for PRETTYMUCH.
