Scotland captain Richie Berrington is looking forward to a "great occasion" against defending champions England at the Men's T20 World Cup on 4 June.

Australia, Namibia and Oman are the other opponents in Group B, with all of Scotland's matches in the Caribbean as West Indies and United States co-host.

The top two from four groups progress to the Super Eight phase.

Australia wrapped up their 3 test series against Pakistan 3-0 today.

Whilst the result looks comprehensive Pakistan were very much into the 2nd and 3rd tests. Just lapses letting them down.

Yorkshire batter Harry Brook is to fly home from England's tour of India for personal reasons.

Brook, 24, was expected to be in England's XI for the opening Test in Hyderabad on Thursday but has left the squad with immediate effect.

Surrey's Dan Lawrence has been named as his replacement but Brook could return later in the five-match series.

"The Brook family respectfully requests privacy during this time," the England and Wales Cricket Board said.

Due to the length of the tour, England, who are currently travelling from Abu Dhabi to Hyderabad, will leave India between the second Test (Vizag, 2-6 February) and the third (Rajkot, 15-19 February).

England captain Ben Stokes is "good to go" for the first Test against India in Hyderabad on Thursday, says coach Brendon McCullum.

Stokes, 32, had surgery on a long-standing left-knee problem in November.

He trained with the squad on their camp in Abu Dhabi last week, but did not bowl and is not expected to do so throughout the five-Test series.

"He looks like a greyhound. He's put the work in, everyone knows his work ethic is phenomenal," said McCullum.

India batter Virat Kohli has withdrawn from the first two Tests against England for personal reasons.

The 35-year-old former captain has told India skipper Rohit Sharma and the side's management that "certain personal situations demand his presence and undivided attention".

The five-Test series begins in Hyderabad on Thursday.

Kohli's withdrawal comes one day after England batter Harry Brook returned to the UK for personal reasons.

That was a big upset and now England have done the same, beating India after being 190 runs behind on the first innings. A great score of 196 by Ollie Pope and then seven wickets for Tom Hartley. This series might be closer than I thought it was going to be.

India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja and batter KL Rahul have been ruled out of the second Test against England, adding to the hosts' problems.

Jadeja suffered a hamstring injury and Rahul a quadriceps issue during England's 28-run win in the first Test.

India are already without star batter Virat Kohli, pace bowler Mohammed Shami and wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant.

Sarfaraz Khan, Sourabh Kumar and Washington Sundar have been added to the squad for Friday's second Test.

England spinner Jack Leach is a significant doubt for the second Test against India because of a knee injury sustained in the first Test.

Leach hurt his left knee fielding in Hyderabad, but was still able to bowl 10 overs in the second innings as England sealed a remarkable 28-run win.

He did not bowl in training on Wednesday as England prepare for the second Test in Visakhapatnam on Friday.

Leach's absence could lead to a debut for Somerset team-mate Shoaib Bashir.

England admirably clung on to India, despite Yashasvi Jaiswal making a sublime century on the opening day of the second Test in Visakhapatnam.

Opener Jaiswal batted throughout the day for his unbeaten 179, leading the home side to 336-6.

The left-hander's knock prevented India, 1-0 down after losing a thrilling first Test, from completely wasting their advantage of winning the toss and batting first on a good pitch.

Jaiswal shared in three separate partnerships in excess of 50, but his team-mates squandered starts. The six men dismissed were all out for between 14 and 34.

Yorkshire's members have approved a controversial takeover of the cash-strapped club by a consortium led by former chairman Colin Graves.

It means the 76-year-old, who was chair of Yorkshire from 2012-2015, is set to return to the role.

Graves' time at Yorkshire was part of the period for which the club was fined for failing to address the systemic use of discriminatory or racist language.

West Indies international fast bowler Kemar Roach will return to Surrey for the first seven matches of the 2024 County Championship season.

The 35-year-old has been part of the team that has won the competition in the past two seasons, taking 25 wickets in their title defence last year.

Roach has 396 wickets from 183 matches across all formats for his country.

He will join up with his Surrey team-mates in time for their first match, against Lancashire in April.
