Hey Jordan!
1. Lorde Green Light Straight in at the top eh! I quite liked this at first but I seem to have bored of it quite quickly. Doesn't help that Radio 1 played it every 5 minutes! 2. Dua Lipa Be The One [1-2] 6. Ed Sheeran Shape Of You [11-7-6] 8. Katy Perry Chained To The Rhythm [6-8] 9. The Weeknd feat. Daft Punk I Feel It Coming [1-1-4-9] 10. Lana Del Rey Love [5-10] 11. Adele Water Under The Bridge [32-22-5-2-11] 13. Martin Jensen Solo Dance This is OK but I don't get why it's doing as well as it is, it sounds a bit generic really, like an inferior version of 'Final Song'. 14. The Chainsmokers & Coldplay Something Just Like This Definitely my second favourite Chainsmokers track after DLMD! Who thought a collab between them and Coldplay would sound this good! 16. Bruno Mars Thats What I Like [39-16] That's not what I like really disappointed by him this era, 'Versace' would probably be the only single I could get behind. 17. Calvin Harris My Way [11-4-18-x-17] 18. Imagine Dragons Believer [9-18] 20. Martin Garrix & Dua Lipa Scared To Be Lonely [40-20] 21. Zedd & Alessia Cara Stay Another lazy and derivative effort, the whole song sounds like I've heard it before, don't people even try these days?! 23. Kygo & Selena Gomez It Aint Me I do like this one though, even if it is a bit Kygo by numbers! Selena sounds great on it and the chorus is lovely 24. Shawn Mendes Mercy [11-2-2-8-24] This still hanging around?! Seems really old compared to everything else in the chart! 25. Clean Bandit feat. Sean Paul & Anne-Marie Rockabye [28-22-23-25] Awww, disappointed this didn't do better but never mind 26. Calvin Harris feat. Frank Ocean & Migos Slide I'm not feeling his laid back stuff, he needs to bring back his bangers! 27. Julia Michaels Issues I actually have issues with this song! Mainly diction issues! The last line of the chorus just sounds to me like "one of them is hoping I need to" instead of "how bad I need you" and it really annoys me every time I hear it! Which is a shame because it's otherwise a very nice song, and I like the fact that it doesn't try to chase trends and is different to anything else out there at the moment, so thumbs up to her for that 30. Stormzy Big For Your Boots [18-30] 31. Ed Sheeran Castle On The Hill [10-12-31] 33. Clean Bandit & Zara Larsson Symphony Love this! So instant! Would be great if it could be the next Number 1 but I doubt they can overcome the Ed juggernaut 34. Little Mix Touch [32-15-34] 36. Zayn & Taylor Swift I Dont Wanna Live Forever [16-36] 37. Starley Call On Me [14-37] 38. Emeli Sande Breathing Underwater [4-11-38] 39. Maroon 5 feat. Future Cold This is at least an improvement on the last single but they're nowhere near as good as they used to be. And they need to stop featuring rappers, they don't need them! 40. Zara Larsson I Would Like [13-40] Excellent stuff as always |

Zara Larsson I Would Like [13-40] Excellent stuff as always 1. Yup, I'm a very big Lorde fan. It's a shame you're bored of it already! 13. It's a bit generic sounding yeah, I think it's the chorus that I like best. 14. I still haven't wrapped my head around it to be honest! I love how it's getting played on stations that never play Coldplay AND stations that never play the Chainsmokers! 16. I agree it's a step down from the first two albums but this one just keeps growing! 21. Maybe I'd agree if Alessia wasn't on it 23. Yeah, I do too despite not being much of a fan of either artist. 24. It just peaked here a few weeks ago so I'm still hearing it a lot! 25. Maybe next month!!!1 If not, 17 weeks in the top 30 ain't too bad, right? 26. Perhaps I agree considering My Way is still above it 27. Oh yes, it really bothers me too! I've really liked her past output and this doesn't sound like it suits her at all, but I can sorta enjoy it anyway. 33. I'm kinda counting on them quickly overtaking Harry Styles but that's probably a lot to ask for 39. Fully agreed Thanks for commenting!! |

Hey Jordan!
Some great new entries I'm seeing, and I'm glad the likes of Lorde, Martin Jensen, Zedd & Alessia Cara, Kygo & Selena Gomez, Julia Michaels and Calvin Harris all featured on the latest release from Now That's What I Call Music! Now 96 has some bangers on it! Also a big fan of Symphony and Something Just Like This which I see make their way into Riser Monthly! Songs I haven't heard yet are the ones from Sabrina Carpenter, Matoma & MAGIC!, Flo Rida and Khalid. Maybe you could play them for me next time you're on plug.dj. Please be sure to check out my chart for this week Top 40 Countdown by awardinary (W/E 13/04/2017). Fab chart this month. |
