Interestingly, Madison Mars used the sample sample on his new track "New Vibe Who Dis" which came out a couple of weeks ago - though I definitely prefer "Turn Me On"!

I didn't like it much when I first heard it, thought it was a bit of a mess and wasn't sure whether the sample fitted in well but I think it's quite good now.

This is really growing on me! The sample is v. prominent but sampled infrequently enough that this does go off! I'd imagine this will become a hit, don't think it's reached it's peak yet.

You're acting as though it's something new?
Samples and covers have been heavily prominent in dance music for the last 30 years and they've always been popular. I get that maybe some of the more 'original' tracks should share in the spotlight but this is hardly an over-bearing example. The lyrics and production are original, it just so happens to feature a famous 80s melody as well.

I am coming round to liking this more now, the use of the very well known sample in the drop put me off it a bit at the start but I don't mind it now.

This should have just been called 'Doctor Love' or 'Dr. Love' though, especially with the single cover. I wonder was there a reason why they couldn't call it Dr. Love?

Turn Me On is better I feel. Dr. Love just makes me think of the Mylo X Miami Sound Machine collab even though that was Dr. Beat in the lyrics, weird I know.
