THE NEW WORLD MAP THREAD

(Posting this with permission from Bré) I felt it was fitting to make a separate thread for my new take on the world map instead of having it tucked away on page 43 in the country registration thread. So now this will be your go-to place for any updates to the map, requests for changes to the map or anything else. I created this new world map by basing it on the classic map which was timeless in itself but I wanted to see what the world of Buzzjack would look like with more detail so I went ahead and created the map you'll see below. I wound up creating an entire new continent as well which I named "Novatera" (New World) which is, as of 10/10/2021 entirely uninhabited.

Anyway, here's the current world map. For a full size version with more detail (esp. since some of these names are a bit hard to read on this map) see below.

CLAIM A TERRITORY
If you are new to the contest this is where you claim a spot on the world map for your nation. It doesn't matter if you have not participated yet, as long as your nation has been registered in the New Country Registration thread you are more than welcome to pick an unclaimed territory on the map. All you have to do is post in this thread which territory you want to claim. You can either describe it's location or use the territory code provided in the big map.

REQUEST A CHANGE
Do you already have a spot on the map but feel like the map doesn't accurately represent how you imagine your nation? No worries, you're more than welcome to request changes to your nation here. These changes include, but are not limited to:

• Territory disputes with other nations.
• Adding autonomous territories within your nation.
• Adding or removing lakes, bays, islands or other natural features.
• Switching to a different location on the map. (any unclaimed territory is fair game)
• Occupation of inactive countries (only allowed for countries inactive for more than 100 contests, will be retracted in the unlikely event that they return).

As you may notice when you look at the map there are some interesting outliers on this map, as with countries in our real world. Bøtanikkä and République d'Áskorsza both claim the large island situated to the south-west of Bøtanikkä, Caerfyrddia claims an island far from the country itself north of Miskantha, and Zanmatony recently invaded and occupied Poisonvine Bay to gain access to the ocean in the north. (This was allowed since PVB have not been active since the second edition).

Please note that greed will not be rewarded and try to make your request realistic and fair. As the map guardian I may reject your request if I feel that it's unfair or too greedy and I may request consent from any other nations involved (especially for territory disputes). This thread is only meant for fun so requesting absurd changes like trying to claim the entire map as a disputed territory spoils the fun (and makes things hard on me) and if you don't play fair I may have to banish your nation to a desolate corner of the map as punishment.

ENCYCLOPAEDIA BUZZJAKIA
Here you can see the various countries of the Buzzjack Song Contest, past and present. Countries are listed in alphabetical order. Information presented will include a picture of the country on the map, the name of the country, username, capital, first contest, last contest participated in, highest placing entry, number of wins and official flag, among other things.

By my count there are a total of 212 nations that have entered the song contest in the past, although I may be missing a handful of nations that have registered but never participated in the contest. In the next few posts I will post these nations in alphabetical order. However, as this is a lot of nations to cover I will start by adding in the current countries and then slowly implement older nations.
