Hmm I've always preferred Frankenstein out of the two, Dracula was good and tense, but didn't have as much emotional weight.
I'll check this out though, do love a Victorian gothic drama. |

I really enjoyed it yet over on Digital Spy they're not impressed at all and tearing it to shreds. Don't know what they want. The story's good and it's quite scary. Van Helsing's a woman lol.
One post :" No. It is very not good. Weird modern dialogue in historical context, bizarre acting and borderline incomprehensible plot. Me and everyone I am watching this with are very bored which is possibly the most damning verdict." They don't seem to like anything though. Well I liked it and people who saw it at a joint BBC/BFI preview on Monday gave it good reviews too. This post has been edited by Crazy Chris-tmas: 1st January 2020, 10:46 PM |

Started off well, drifted off a bit, its a bit like marmite in places, but overall I enjoyed it as it came to an end, Looking forward to the next instalment.
Getting Claes Bang to portray Dracula was brilliant casting, I recognise him from the Dutch series, The Bridge. |

I think it's excellent, the horror gore scenes are a little silly but other than that it was brillant and scary.
Loving He nun that's Van Helsing too and it didn't occur to me that she was van helsing until you just said lol. |

It was rather...excessive, not so much for horror as it wasn't really that scary, it was just ludicrously over the top. I did enjoy it though, Claes Bang was pretty enjoyable as Dracula. I haven't read the novel in a while (not that it matters as this is clearly going for a different tone) and was wondering who on Earth the nun was and how she was so unafraid, figures that they did a gender swap of Van Helsing!

Wiki just says she's a descendant of Van Helsing. This post has been edited by Crazy Chris-tmas: 1st January 2020, 11:13 PM |
