goes to show that reviews really don't generate much toward how successful a project will be eh?

I went to watch this on Saturday evening.

The film itself is pretty good and shot beautifully. I don't want to give much away, but you need your brain in gear for the confusing storyline.

Florence Pugh was amazing and held the film together as many critics have said.

I went with the idea in my head that Harry Styles was going to be terrible in it, but as a fan of his I wanted to be proven wrong. I struggled to get past the pre-conceived belief that he was going to be bad. I do think he was okay in scenes where he had only a handful of lines and didn't have to do much, but he dropped in those where he was in a one-to-one. It didn't help that some teenage girls who were there got bored after the first hour and started looking at their phones and chatting and then promptly giggled every time Harry had to display any kind of emotion or even uttered a swear word.

Anyway... worth watching all in all.

A hit!

I'm pleased this is performing well because I don't think it's worthy of such bad reviews and think some of that negativity comes down to some of the controversies and publicity around the movie. It had me gripped from start to end, so intriguing and I was satisfied with how it wrapped up and how much was explained.

Probably not one for a re-watch due to the nature of the movie and already knowing what the twists are, but for me it's a solid 8, pushing to a 9/10.

I do find it amusing how in one weekend in the UK, it's already grossed more than Olivia Wilde's previous movie, "Booksmart", took in it's entire run, and that holds a 96% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes based on over 300 reviews laugh.gif I'd say I got more overall enjoyment out of this one tbh.

I saw it today and really liked it! Harry gave a great performance though Florence Pugh was the highlight of the film for me. It had me gripped right to the very end which is really good going when I have the attention span of an ant laugh.gif

Harry had great performances and I think there will be more acting to come.

$50milllion globally is sadly not successful. A film needs to make at least double its budget to break even.

Glad to see it's going against the critic reviews nicely!
