I've got into this podcast a lot over the summer and was wondering if anyone here has heard of it or would be interested in it. It's called Chart Music and each episode takes a look at a specific episode of Top of the Pops, with two of a rotating panel of five ex Melody Maker journalists discussing with the host Al Needham - he's spent 25 years as a writer and journalist but not in the music press, he has absolutely terrific knowledge of pop culture.

There's one episode released a month, and they are quite long, recent ones tend to be between 3-4 hours. I never imagined it would be something I'd be so into but I listen to each new one within a week of it coming out and have loved catching up on some previous editions. The recent one from 1969 was incredible. The stories are frequently excellent and informative, the guests are generally hilarious and I love hearing them rant about songs and acts they absolutely hate.

It can often take 30-60 minutes before they actually start discussing the actual episode, as they discuss what they'd have been up to (some of these are really interesting, especially for later episodes when they were journalists), what was in the news, on TV and in the music press that week.
