Thanks for some points Addy! To those who faulted my entry due to its many Top 10 albums, this wasn’t a thought when I tried to resubmit after two failed attempts beforehand, but when it was accepted I just thought that was that, I’m sorry if it seems I cheated in any way as I wasn’t trying to bend the rules. Edit: wow thanks Jordan, and again, sorry for any unfair advantage I was inadvertently given. That's not your fault at all Wardy! Don't worry |

If it's taken into consideration that it was already revealed, I'm glad that someone (Addy, in this case) submitted a song by Bebe. In case you're not aware, "Malo" is a song about gender violence, hence the reason how deep her vocals and production are throughout the song, as well as her follow-up single "Ella".

Yay for being revealed. I appreciate the points so far! I very much agree with the Fleetwood Mac comparison, I actually think of their sound as a mix of Fleetwood Mac and Hanson - it's more evident with another song of theirs I considered sending.

Yeah 'Whirlwind' is the highlight off their latest album, particularly because of those wind sounds and the way the hook line just keeps going and going, I've been a casual fan of them for a while now, so I hope it picks up soon x

Well if Iz wasn't behind the Tokyo Ghoul entry (still dazed that it was Chez responsible for it), then this would have been my 2nd guess.

A very nice entry from Jordan, was kind of giving me similar vibes to HAIM's latest single as well as Fleetwood Mac ~ Sonata Arctica was a pretty strong Iz-type Iz entry too, shame I couldn't have fit either of those into my votes.

11. Brett-Butler was behind…
EGOISM - What Are We Doing? QUOTE Hello you lovely, lovely people of the Nuggets-entering variety. A lovely mix of different songs in the contest this time, all connected by six strings and attempts at approximating a melody. Here are the 10 that got my votes this time around - 12. Larkin Poe - Preachin' Blues 10. cheerbleederz - sometimes i cry at work 8. Colony House - You Know It 7. Soccer Mommy - Circle the Drain 6. Shangralas - White Gold 5. BAILEN - Your Love Is All I Know 4. We The Lion - You 3. Ellis - Shame 2. Westerman - Confirmation 1. Moaning - Fall In Love Brett is now revealed as the poster behind ‘What Are We Doing?’ by EGOISM! They’re a dream-pop duo from Australia. The song is about learning to let go of the little worries we have. I could definitely do with taking this advice. A combination of the semantics and the sound of the song result in one of the most relaxed entries of the contest. It sports a simple, retro looking video too. Brett is currently sitting in 24th place. As for his votes, he awards Larkin Poe a full 12 points so that shoots into the top 5! Only one poster has been revealed in the current top 5. Brett’s 10 goes to cheerbleederz so now ‘sometimes i cry at work’ is sitting just outside the top 20. Lastly, his bronze medal heads in the direction of Colony House, so ‘You Know It’ catapults into the top 10! SCOREBOARD 1 49 Working Men's Club - A.A.A.A. 2 47 FalKKonE - Licht Und Schatten [Chez Wombat] 3 47 Karnataka - Secrets Of Angels 4 38 Ellis - Shame 5 36 Larkin Poe - Preachin' Blues 6 32 Math The Band - Four To Six 7 32 Moaning - Fall In Love [Bré] 8 30 Westerman - Confirmation 9 30 Colony House - You Know It 10 29 Bebe - Malo [Addy] 11 29 Windwaker - My Empire 12 27 Soccer Mommy - Circle the Drain 13 21 Club Smith - Young Defeatists 14 20 Alter Bridge - Blackbird [awardinary] 15 20 Shangralas - White Gold [Suedehead2] 16 18 Summoning - Land Of The Dead 17 17 Kasalla - Stadt met K 18 16 Folkstone - In Taberna 19 14 We The Lion - You [Juan Carlos] 20 14 BAILEN - Your Love Is All I Know [Riser] 21 14 cheerbleederz - sometimes i cry at work 22 12 BLOXX - Lie Out Loud [Jade] 23 12 H.E.R.O. - Bad Blood 24 8 Egoism - What Are We Doing? [Brett-Butler] 25 8 DI-RECT - Times Are Changing [Maz!] 26 8 Dogleg - Fox 27 4 Sonata Arctica - Whirlwind [Izzy] 28 3 Amyl & The Sniffers - Starfire 500 29 3 Club Drive - Spare Time |

12. Dobbo was behind…
Folkstone - In Taberna QUOTE Definitely more than a few Golden Nuggets in this batch! 12: Math The Band - Four To Six 10: Alter Bridge - Blackbird 08: FalKKonE - Licht Und Schatten 07: Colony House - You Know It 06: Summoning - Land Of The Dead 05: BAILEN - Your Love Is All I Know 04: Bebe - Malo 03: Karnataka - Secrets Of Angels 02: H.E.R.O. - Bad Blood 01: Club Drive - Spare Time It is Dobbo who is behind the entry that gave us all a serious case of whiplash on plug.dj! This is because the music video transforms from club beats, to a relaxing harp song… to the actual piece of music which is a BAGPIPE BANGER!!! ‘In Taberna’ is one of our foreign language entries - this time courtesy of the Italian folk metal band Folkstone. They went in hard with both the song and music video for sure. Dobbo currently sits in the top 20. His votes prove to be quite impactful too! Previous winner Working Men’s Club fall to 3rd, while 8 points to FalKKonE and 3 to Karnataka push them both ahead. Oh wow. 1 point to Club Drive also ensures that it’s just Amyl & The Sniffers at the bottom. A surprising last placer so far! Elsewhere, Dobbo awards his 12 to Math The Band so ‘Four To Six’ had advanced from being sixth to fourth. How satisfying. 10 points to Alter Bridge also sees that in joint 10th. Phew! SCOREBOARD 1 55 FalKKonE - Licht Und Schatten [Chez Wombat] 2 50 Karnataka - Secrets Of Angels 3 49 Working Men's Club - A.A.A.A. 4 44 Math The Band - Four To Six 5 38 Ellis - Shame 6 37 Colony House - You Know It 7 36 Larkin Poe - Preachin' Blues 8 33 Bebe - Malo [Addy] 9 32 Moaning - Fall In Love [Bré] 10 30 Westerman - Confirmation 11 30 Alter Bridge - Blackbird [awardinary] 12 29 Windwaker - My Empire 13 27 Soccer Mommy - Circle the Drain 14 24 Summoning - Land Of The Dead 15 21 Club Smith - Young Defeatists 16 20 Shangralas - White Gold [Suedehead2] 17 19 BAILEN - Your Love Is All I Know [Riser] 18 17 Kasalla - Stadt met K 19 16 Folkstone - In Taberna [Dobbo] 20 14 We The Lion - You [Juan Carlos] 21 14 cheerbleederz - sometimes i cry at work 22 14 H.E.R.O. - Bad Blood 23 12 BLOXX - Lie Out Loud [Jade] 24 8 Egoism - What Are We Doing? Shangralas turned up on a Spotify New Music playlist some time last year with 17. As soon as the vocals started, it was pretty obvious they were from somewhere in the vicinity of Sheffield So yes, there is more than a hint of Arctic Monkeys about them but I think the main reason for that is that both bands have a singer who doesn't try to hide his regional accent.

I assumed Egoism would be B-B. I got into them after seeing him tweet about them last year. A good song, though I've enjoyed their most recent single You You a lot more

Yse, EGOISM was my entry. It's a shoegaze-y track, so it might have gone over a lot of people in this contest, plus it was the last song in the running order so might have been overlooked, which is why I believe it's in the bottom third. But gosh, I absolutely love it to pieces.

13. WhoOdyssey was behind…
cheerbleederz - sometimes i cry at work QUOTE +12: Soccer Mommy - Circle the Drain +10: Math The Band - Four To Six +08: Amyl & The Sniffers - Starfire 500 +07: Working Men's Club - A.A.A.A. +06: Shangralas - White Gold +05: BLOXX - Lie Out Loud +04: Windwaker - My Empire +03: DI-RECT - Times Are Changing +02: H.E.R.O. - Bad Blood +01: Egoism - What Are We Doing? Now our first Indie mod is revealed! WhoOdyssey is behind ’sometimes i cry at work’ by cheerbleederz. They’re a London-based all female trio. The song is about battling with fluctuations of confidence, inadequacy and imposter syndrome, holding you back from what you want to achieve. I feel somewhat personally attacked, even if I haven’t cried at work for a while. Anyway, alongside the song they provide us with a quarantine friendly at home music video. Whoddy is currently sitting in 23rd - an improvement from last earlier. Things get exciting at the top as Working Men’s Club are back up there with 56 points after an almighty drought ends, while FalKKonE take 2nd with 55 and Math The Band - following Whoddy’s silver medal - are 3rd with 54 points. Arggggh!! It’s so close up there! Elsewhere, WhoOdyssey awards Soccer Mommy a 12 so ‘Circle the Drain’ is as high as 5th place now, woah! Amyl & The Sniffers get his bronze so they are lifted off last place to a slightly more respectable 25th. Club Drive and Sonata Arctica now languish down in joint last, oops. SCOREBOARD 1 56 Working Men's Club - A.A.A.A. 2 55 FalKKonE - Licht Und Schatten [Chez Wombat] 3 54 Math The Band - Four To Six 4 50 Karnataka - Secrets Of Angels 5 39 Soccer Mommy - Circle the Drain 6 38 Ellis - Shame 7 37 Colony House - You Know It 8 36 Larkin Poe - Preachin' Blues 9 33 Bebe - Malo [Addy] 10 33 Windwaker - My Empire 11 32 Moaning - Fall In Love [Bré] 12 30 Westerman - Confirmation 13 30 Alter Bridge - Blackbird [awardinary] 14 26 Shangralas - White Gold [Suedehead2] 15 24 Summoning - Land Of The Dead 16 21 Club Smith - Young Defeatists 17 19 BAILEN - Your Love Is All I Know [Riser] 18 17 Kasalla - Stadt met K 19 17 BLOXX - Lie Out Loud [Jade] 20 16 Folkstone - In Taberna [Dobbo] 21 16 H.E.R.O. - Bad Blood 22 14 We The Lion - You [Juan Carlos] 23 14 cheerbleederz - sometimes i cry at work [WhoOdyssey] 24 11 DI-RECT - Times Are Changing [Maz!] 25 11 Amyl & The Sniffers - Starfire 500 26 9 Egoism - What Are We Doing? I was interested to see who was responsible for the cheerbleederz song. They've been on my radar for a while, but didn't think many other people would have heard of them. I prefer "Cabin Fever" by them, but this one was decent as well.

14. Dexton was behind…
Colony House - You Know It QUOTE +12 BAILEN - Your Love Is All I Know +10 Club Drive - Spare Time +8 DI-RECT - Times Are Changing +7 Ellis - Shame +6 cheerbleederz - sometimes i cry at work +5 We The Lion - You +4 Shangralas - White Gold +3 Larkin Poe - Preachin' Blues +2 Moaning - Fall In Love +1 Sonata Arctica - Whirlwind Next up it’s Dexton who is behind ‘You Know It’ by Colony House. This entry takes us back to the times of 60s surf rock - the Beach Boys influence really jumped out here! ‘You Know It’ is a very energetic song with an über catchy chorus - making it perfect for adverts. It featured in a Samsung one apparently. The band have stated that the song is about their growing popularity and the realities of life on the road. Dexton is doing pretty well so far as Colony House are sitting in 8th place. His 12 goes to Jordan’s entry ‘Your Love Is All I Know’ so that is now up to 12th. His 10 is then awarded to ‘Spare Time’ so that leaps out of last place. Poor Sonata Arctica are stuck down there alone now despite a point added to their tally. Dexton’s 8 goes to DI-RECT so this Maurice entry is now in the top 20. Ellis is back in the top 5 also. Still waiting to find out who most of these entries at the top belong to! SCOREBOARD 1 56 Working Men's Club - A.A.A.A. 2 55 FalKKonE - Licht Und Schatten [Chez Wombat] 3 54 Math The Band - Four To Six 4 50 Karnataka - Secrets Of Angels 5 45 Ellis - Shame 6 39 Soccer Mommy - Circle the Drain 7 39 Larkin Poe - Preachin' Blues 8 37 Colony House - You Know It [Dexton] 9 34 Moaning - Fall In Love [Bré] 10 33 Bebe - Malo [Addy] 11 33 Windwaker - My Empire 12 31 BAILEN - Your Love Is All I Know [Riser] 13 30 Westerman - Confirmation 14 30 Alter Bridge - Blackbird [awardinary] 15 30 Shangralas - White Gold [Suedehead2] 16 24 Summoning - Land Of The Dead 17 21 Club Smith - Young Defeatists 18 20 cheerbleederz - sometimes i cry at work [WhoOdyssey] 19 19 We The Lion - You [Juan Carlos] 20 19 DI-RECT - Times Are Changing [Maz!] 21 17 Kasalla - Stadt met K 22 17 BLOXX - Lie Out Loud [Jade] 23 16 Folkstone - In Taberna [Dobbo] 24 16 H.E.R.O. - Bad Blood 25 14 Club Drive - Spare Time 26 11 Amyl & The Sniffers - Starfire 500 27 9 Egoism - What Are We Doing?
