Randomly Please Stay has re-entered the Official UK top 100 physical singles chart at 96 this week! (Maybe 1 copy sold?)

What are your memories of this Light Years Track?

Remember this very clearly as while it capped off a very successful year for Kylie with a 4th top 10 hit, however the fans weren't all that keen & wanted 'Your Disco Needs You' released instead.
I've always liked this song, sure it quite stand out for me on the album at first, but when the music video came out, I really warmed to it.

I remember I didn't like it back then, maybe I just had no connection, because it wasn't released in Germany. We had Your Disco Needs You including radio airplay, own music video and even tv performances, that was nice. I bought Please Stay as import back then. In recent years it suddenly grew on me, still don't know why.

I guess most important fact about Please Stay is that it had Santa Baby as b-side.

Please stay like all the other light years singles I really like it's just I also prefer a few of the album tracks to it. I never really liked santa baby but never in a million years did I think it would go on to be one of her best selling singles, it will easily go platinum now in 2021.

I really enjoyed it.

Kylie looked sexy in the video

Good bop to end the campaign

I really like Please Stay, prefer it to Spinning Around and unlike most fans I don’t rate Your disco needs you either so it worked out for me.

It's a really good song on a nice summer's day.

Seeing Please Stay enter the sales chart was a surprise.

I think please stay is prob one of her forgotten singles.

COMPLETELY

I like the song and get enjoyment out of it every now and then, but it's inessential for me.

I think in hindsight I'd have loved to see how 'Disco Down' had worked as a single in its place, or maybe even 'Butterfly' (but that song is quite "out there" to have maybe worked as a single)

I do think it's one of her best and most iconic videos though, so in that respect I appreciate it being a single in her discography.

I don't think I heard it all that much at the time of its release, so I don't have a sense of nostalgia for it like I do with Spinning Around and On a Night Like This (note: I didn't hear the Light Years album in 2000). Please Stay grew on me over the years, and I don't think I ever appreciated it as much as I did during the Step Back in Time era. wub.gif It's lovely!

I have always felt disco down would have been a better choice despite liking please stay. Disco down for me had christmas release written all over it. Please stay though is a really refreshing song when I do play it. Please stay and stop me from falling both have that latino vibe to them.

My choice would be for Disco Down, this paired with Santa Baby would have been a winner.
That said Please Stay achieved Top 10 status.
