Currently #2 on Aussie itunes, probs because she is Australian and is maybe getting hype there or something but hopefully it signals WW potential... Really liking this now and it's only growing, great use of a Leslie Gore sample and I love the production. She is also Conrad Sewell's sister, fact fans. Maybe one to look out for, she's signed to RCA so could get a push, hopefully!!! |

Really liking this actually. The production is great and her vocals are lovely.
The chorus is slightly Paloma-esque melodically but this is certainly more interesting than most of her stuff and the vocals just feel so authentic. |

apologies for the nokia gprs -4 signal quoting:
QUOTE Grace released the single "You Don't Own Me" in early 2015, her first single with RCA Records. The song is a remake of the 1963 Leslie Gore classic, originally produced by Quincy Jones.[7]Grace recorded the song with G-Eazy, with Quincy Jones returning to co-produce the track.[8] The song became a top 10 viral track on Spotify in April 2015,[9] and debuted at number 14 on the ARIA Singles Chart in May 2015.[10] It is part of her debut album scheduled for release in spring 2015.[7] She co-wrote a track for the album with Fraser T Smith which features additional writing and production contributions from Parker Ighile, Diane Warren, and Quincy Jones.[11] *.* |

Just listening now and it's very compelling, not at all what I expected and really quite refreshing.

Extremely pleased that this is doing the biz and actually climbing the UK charts atm! Such a great, refreshing song. I predict a long running top 10 smash for this once the exposure is there. Radio 1/Heart/Capital will all be all over it soon I think!
I would like Jake's "#1 in UK/US etc..." prediction to be true. It's actually perfect for the UK market at Christmas. Very Christmassy without being restricted to being a Christmas song! |

I find the rap on this a bit cringeworthy, but the rest of the song itself is good!

I've been listening to the radio mix and don't really see how it's sampling the original... it's simply a cover?

I've been listening to the radio mix and don't really see how it's sampling the original... it's simply a cover? Yeah, it is a cover Not sure where the 'sample' idea in this post has come from. It's just a cover with raps thrown in, which still makes it a cover presumably. |
