Mollie has always been quite a bit stiff, but it's hard to know whether she is lacking true dancing talent, or if she (and the other girls) were just extremely and utterly lazy.
Strictly is incredibly tough. If your current "job" allows it, it's a 9 to 5 training everyday, on weekends too sometimes with the random day off here and there.
I don't even think The Saturdays did that much rehearsing, even for their tours!!
What I'm saying is that, I think we could see more than expected from Mollie because she will definitely be pushed in a way that she clearly wasn't in the group. So it will be interesting to see if there's actually potential, if she can get rid of the woodiness by actually rehearsing a routine to the death, in a way that she never did in the group.
But I can't say anything until I see at least her first dance, as well as the rest of the contestants. (I can already picture Aston being a bit poor in Ballroom, and the judges being a bit unfair to him during his Latin numbers, accusing him of having more "show-y" moves than proper Latin dance content. On the other hand, I think Alexandra will excel at Ballroom and Latin right from the start and will be the contender for the top place right from week one, but usually celebrities that peak too early don't tend to win. Hell, look what happen with Frankie and Pixie during their series! )
My current guess, without having seen her dance yet, is #4
i've not seen her dance yet so i don't feel able to place nor predict a position
nothing to go in yet!
I'm gonna say 5th for now but I'll wait until her first dance to make a proper guess on the poll.
It's far too early to tell to be absolutely truthful - the first live show hasn't even happened yet - however I'd say the standard is potentially quite high this year, maybe even more so than last year.
Providing she doesn't find herself in the dance off on multiple occasions (hello to you, Anastacia and Michelle Williams) she'll get to Blackpool week at least, but I can see the final involving Aston and Janette and Alexandra and Gorka going on the social media reaction to both of those so far. I'd like to be proved wrong though!
I don't watch Strictly but did watch Frankie's performances whenever my housemates watched it as they loved Kevin I'll probably do the same and just skip to Mollie's performances or Youtube them.
EDIT: I'm so tired I forgot to add at the end that I'll watch week one's performance on Youtube before commenting on overall positioning!
Okay, so I've watched her first dance.
I'm still hesitating whether I go for #4 or #5-6.
One thing for sure, I really can't see her winning it at all, but I'm still a bit unsure about my assessment of the contestants. It also depends on the votes, I can definitely see a few of the contenders getting less votes than her, and being eliminated in a shock bottom 2, so she could rank up higher with that in mind.
Either 4th, 5th or 6th.
Can we just have a moment to talk about AJ!? *.*
Whoever voted for first and last place, reveal yourselves!
With the way tied scores work in the show.
So say the top 5 scores are 30 28 28 28 27 rather than being 1-2-2-2-5 it scores 1-2-2-2-3 this hurts less public loved contestants.
If there are lots of ties Mollie could be in trouble early on, as I suspect she doesn't have the fan base vote to get her out of the bottom 5 of the public vote, unless she produces a spectacular dance.
I think the public will actually be on Mollie's side. No she may not have as big a fan base as some of the others, but she is incredibly likable and I do think as the public get to know her they will begin to pull for her.
Gonna go with 7th or 8th based on her first dance.
I'm sticking with my #4
Anyone care to change their prediction at this point? I'm standing by my fourth place. She'll squeak into the semis.
Well it wasn't last place which is good! I do worry if AJ isn't up for Saturday it could damage her a bit with the routine.
AJ is fine and back in game, but Mollie's performance could still be affected by the fact that she didn't rehearse as much as anyone else as AJ passed the first few days lying on the floor because he was too sick, and then they lost a bit of rehearsing time trying to find her another teacher (it was one of the back up dancer, Patrick, and someone else too). Add to that, the fact that she's been rehearsing with many different guys, it must be a bit confusing for her.
If they put her at the begining of the show four weeks in a row, I might actually believe they want her out.
I was worried for all those reasons ya listed but he was on Insta earlier for It Takes Two Insta stories so it’s better than illness and no show.
Poll bump.
It is interesting seeing where everyone initially thought she'd be and where she is now. Still waiting to see who voted her to be last
Which place will she take if she leaves this week?
I think I voted last place I am surprised that she's ranked so high, I haven't watched the whole series but Aston is the only dancer that's better than her to be eliminated (probably).
I think overall yes but for that week he must have had an off week.
