SO disappointed in this. Read DC's Aquaman comics as a kid/young adult, and about the only thing in common is the names. The movie is silly. Very very silly. Manic and silly. Not funny silly, annoying silly. It's all supergloss and no substance, cliched trite dialogue, absurd premises the sheer number of alien civilisations hanging about on the ocean floor - I can accept humans adapting to an underwater existence, but err, I can't accept Underwater Aliens, Jurassic-Park-At-The Earth's-Core, supercrabs, and much much more.

The best bit was the scene of Stingray on the Tv at the beginning - now THERE was a great underwater show, proper characters, motivation, dialogue, plot. The funniest bit was a giant talking monster-serpent saying she hadn't fisted in a long, long time. I think that's what she said, the accent was a little unclear.

My advice, watch on "mute" and it will look utterly amazing. 4/10 for the SFX.

This has grossed almost $1 billion somehow?!

Surely the success of this and Wonder Woman proves they should completely abandon the DCEU and focus on the standalone, unconnected series. It’s more of a selling point than a weak attempt to try and replicate the success of the MCU.

I found it a pretty decent film in the end, some people are really slanting it though. I think the next decent film to come out from DC this year is the new Joker film. And Justice League just fell to pieces for me at the end. I think the 2nd part is undecided.

I thought Aquaman was okay but I still think Justice Legue was perfectly fine and probably just as good? It was sunk by bad reviews though. Both were 3/5 popcorn filler.
