Looking over at this it seems like people are just mad she released Small Talk (which was a cute song but shouldn’t have been a single) and since then can’t get anything right with the campaign. I personally liked how most of the singles had some sort of narrative attached to them. Never Worn White was a nice ballad for a promo single but aimed to announce her pregnancy. Daisies was fantastic and served the purpose of being a glorified gender reveal/name reveal. Resilient was a small shoutout to the Latin American market who congratulated her after featuring in the Con Calma remix. And I don’t think any of us could have predicted the pandemic plunging the world into hiatus for 10 months and counting so it was nice that Katycats we’re getting at least some content even though she has other priorities that take precedence.

Ideally, it would have gone like this:
01 | Never Really Over
02 | Teary Eyes
PR | Never Worn White (to announce pregnancy)
03 | Daisies (was fine where it is, impacted the adult contemporary format, did its job)
- Album Release -
04 | Cry About It Later
05 | Not The End Of The World (w/ blackbear)
- Smile kinda thrown in there for that Target/Walmart promo, maybe for Christmas like Lizzo’s Water Me -

blackbear would be a fantastic edition for a remix and would give the song another layer like what Charlie Puth did with I Hope - his side would be very angsty and almost resigned and Katy would serve as this voice of perseverance, what a concept.

3rd Single: Harleys In Hawaii [October 2019]
4th Single: Daises [May 2020]
*ALBUM RELEASE*
5th single: Tucked [July 2020]
6th single: Only Love (Tiesto Remix) (ft Aitana) [October 2020]

PROMO #1: What Makes A Woman [March 2020]
PROMO #2: Teary Eyes [August 2020]
PROMO #3: Not The End Of The World [December 2020]
