interesting to see Quintessa challenging for victory and Jadakissnia on top, didn’t see that coming. had a feeling Wholune would score big though, the song has a big anthem feel and its usually a sign of a hit when even I find myself enjoying a rock entry. could definitely be them winning although I think and hope Bøtanikkä still could challenge.

People sleeping on both of the AQs I see how it is. (although Ami at least has done better than she did in Club Bizarre - I liked this Apashe song a lot more than the previous one and didn't think it sounded any less like a big hit so rather baffled at the underperformance oops)

Looks like I have almost certainly come 28th (assuming I lose the tie to Klum (and that Ben's numbers are correct)) nnn, the unique positions remain elusive

Pretty good showing for Caerfyrddia, I didn't really expect big things from this but must have just underestimated Eivør's continuing appeal - it was another one that was just a commiseration for me in the end though it was in my top 10 of its semi.

I did have a feeling Bøtanikkä didn't quite sound like a winner - continuing the long trend of PJSC winners never managing to win here as well (with the exception of Indila).

Glad to see Aeroche getting a big bump from the jury but still far too low! Hendinia I noticed being a lot lower than they deserved to be the last time I checked but seems like when all is said and done it has just done about as well as 'GOOD PUSS' did (perhaps slightly lower) after all which I am satisfied enough with although I maintain this song is by far her best x

So elated for Wholune to finish top five, I switched it from my 15 to 18 at the last second and those three points clearly helped them into the top five Fantastic discovery and I need to check out more from Greta Van Fleet. Nice to see a top ten comeback for Altyr too, assuming they won that tiebreak.

Our medal positions this month are dominated by drum n bass & adjacent tracks in an unusually strong month for the genre (not often really that there are even this many such songs in the same contest let alone all of them being this good!) - Trifoski pull off the feat of getting our 18 despite the fact that the entry from Hendinia was already a top 10 hit in my personal chart - that has to settle for 15 points, while it's a very strong 13 points for Cumulonimbia (initially seemed like it may have also been an 18 contender but revised slightly downwards as the song didn't quiiiite hit the same note without the fabulous self-made music video - kudos to Doctor B for that anyway, it really fits the vibe of the song perfectly somehow). This marks our first time giving top marks to Trifoski since Amnesia Scanner in BJSC 91 and the third time in all, also including BJSC 71's Yeasayer. Hendinia don't make our votes too often these days but recently when they do they make it count, as this is their first points from us since Rico Nasty also got 15 points from us exactly a year ago. Cumulonimbia on the other hand are increasingly a staple of our medal positions in recent months with this being their third in the last 4 contests following the 18 for Daniel Bortz in BJSC 135 and Lanark Artefax last month - Rare Facture the floppy outlier with a mere 6 points received.

Rounding out the top 5, N DNTN with their subtly infectious jam pick up 12 points while the much less subtle but just as addictive AQ from Kluminican Republic gets 11 points - let's let this be their long awaited winner? x Eternal resident in our votes Jadakissnia receive our 10 points with a tasteful earworm eurodance throwback (a better showing than Pharao for us, who only got 5 points). The other auto-qualifier from incumbent winners Aesthetica also grabs a decent tally of 9 points, this somehow didn't make our votes in Club Bizarre before but we see the error of our ways now and hopefully others will follow suit to deliver it a better result than the second from last it got there. The Pom-Poms in BJSC 109 were the only previous Aesthetica entry to get more points from us. Aeroche and Flynnonda were near inseparable in sound and in quality so appropriately appear next to each other in our votes with the former winning out to get 8 points while the latter gets 7. Aeroche's last higher scoring entry for us was 10 pointer Sidewalks And Skeletons in BJSC 129, while Flynnonda's only higher scoring entry for us goes all the way back to Tame Impala also getting 10 points in BJSC 76 (this is the third time we have given them 7 points since then). The top 10 is rounded out by another drum n bass entry for good measure, this time from Utopia.

In a strong month for Asian entries, Aesthetica are joined in our votes by Greenfroze serving a rare actually unique K-Pop entry which picks up 5 points from us, Greenfroze's first points from us since our 3 points to Aöme in BJSC 126 (and their highest points from us since giving 8 points to Little Green Cars the month before that). Terra Avium land 4 points with their French synth extravaganza, 3 and 2 points go to some chill electronic jams from Thelonia and Kathaldazia and the mealworm point goes to the 90s pastiche from Jupiterdonia (another country we've not voted for in a little while, their last points from us being 3 points to FM-84 in BJSC 125).

Great winner, congrats Jade! As Rich said, it was a complete revelation to find out that it wasn’t a Cascada original!

Thanks to those who voted for Eivor, especially pleased to see it being very well received amongst the early voters, and I’m very happy with a top 20 placing for our 50th and final entry. It was great to rejoin the contest while being furloughed, and if we go into lockdown again then I’ll probably be back, but I’m finding it hard to take in each contest fully now so this feels like a good natural conclusion for our nation. I couldn't be happier with 6th, let it be known this is Harmonica's first top 10 in three years! It's honestly surreal after feeling so out of touch with BJSC this whole year. Especially thankful for the 18 from Aquafina...and some incredibly rare points from Dan too, thank you (Also, sorry if I've caused any future Moyka entries to be vetoed )

Final scoreboard is verified now btw, though with Oslol dropping down to 39th place / 98 points post deduction. (The ties are already broken in Ben's final scoreboard post but for posterity Altyr/Bhangra was 26 votes to 22, FSR/Séyetana was 21 votes each and 1 18 to 0, Klum Rep/Persephonia was 19 votes to 17 - curses be upon Klum x - and Thelonia/Bellamia was 20 votes to 17).

The jury votes came through to deliver a really strong top 3 in the end, all three got at least 7 points from me! Fantastic to see both Flynnonda and Cumulonimbia ending up with their first ever medal position finishes both very overdue! And very proud to welcome Jadakissnia into the 2 wins club alongside myself, though I expect they have a much better chance than me of ever breaking into the 3 wins club. Beyond that top 3 the rest of the top 10 still isn't up to much for me though with the exception of Hendinia, fab to see COBRAH indeed ending up with another top 10. St. Burbia continuing their very impressive run of late, I didn't think this one sounded as much like a big hit as their last two but clearly I was wrong! Happy to see a few more of my faves sneaking into the low top 20 at least, particularly N DNTN after them being disturbingly near the bottom for far too long.

Looking forward to (hopefully) another Jadakissnia host in some capacity even if circumstances may be once again preventing a fully Jadakissnia hosted contest (one day!)

Oh and also thank you to our last few voters from the jury of course - Savan and Lee for the mealworms, Suede and Whoddy for double figure points and most of all Jacob for providing our only 18 always nice to receive at least one x 5 medal positions in all, happy enough with that! I am running out of time to secure a top 10 hit for 2021 though eek (not that I expected this to be one of course!)

Get it Ms Jade! I didn’t vote for it but it was in my top 20 which is better than most Jadakissnia entries fare for me!

9th is fab after a verrrry slow start so thanks for all the COBRAH votes Glad that Come Through did well too, been hammering it for the past month.

Also interesting to see how Iron Heart did! I know I’ve sat on it for months and Lex has too, just like I have with Dip N Drip, but was unsure how it’d do. Glad it performed well though, no shock that I love this kind of entry given it’s very Smith & Thell.

Congrats Jade! It did sound like a big Eurovision winner so I guess it’s not too surprising in retrospect. Flynnonda’s song was good too and indeed were right next to each other in my votes! Great to see Wholune, Cumulonimbia and Botanikka in the top 10, though I wish some of my bigger votes done better, especially Persephonia and Trifoski :’(

Also, congratulations to Jadakissnia! I also didn't know this was the original song. I've listened to a lof of Cascada in my life, but that was a pleasant surprise for sure.

That is so heartbreakingly close to the win for UNIIQU3/Flynnonda there. ; ( I did everything I could with my 18, but it's at least an impressive finish. Gonna listen to the EP which is out today. I'd had the CLUBKELLY track lined up for a while but hadn't ever got around to editing a video for it - glad that people enjoyed it, and a huge thanks to Chris, Kath and Jade for the 18s and an even bigger thanks to Ben for running a great contest !

Congrats Jade! One of the best winners in a while, of course a song I voted for as well. Vert happy to see Greta Van Fleet make the Top 5 as well (although it certainly doesn't diminish my 'male vocallists tend to do better when they have high-pitched voices' rhetoric ) And for once in a while my semi votes made absolutely no difference to who qualified! Fab exciting contest well done Ben! Congrats Jade and i had no idea Cascada had covered it. Not a Cascada fan so you might have grabbed a few more points from us on principle if i'd known

Great to see Harry doing well and also Jordan, and what a top 15 result I cant remember the last time our votes were so in tune with the results. And most of all well done Wholune, Greta Van Fleet clearly being the most marmite entry with all those 18s and very few non 18s points. It wouldnt have taken much of a shove to have won despite most people not liking it

Congrats Jade! While I like 'A Neverending Dream', it was quite hard to rank it as I still hear it every now and then on the radio, it was a big hit here, defnitely not a long-forgotten one.
For me, 'Ignis' remains to be your far superior winner, but this was a well-deserved win too (and it was time). I was wondering why you didn't submit the song with the great video, then I found out that it's in potato quality on YouTube. Shame.
I can't wait for a Jade-contest and I hope you have a ballsy entry in mind for an AQ!

Although I already have a wooden spoon in my pantry, 42nd is a unique position for Land of DW, so yay for that! I didn't expect a lot better for Direkt Bock (well, I expected a BIT better), but I'm happy that finally we were the winners of the semi drama, it's been some years! (I think CloZee - Koto was the last one that made the final due to deductions).

Check out Faded by Kate DeAraugo, they turned a great pop/rocker written by The Veronicas into their usual Eurodance for the Perfect Day album (although I can’t remember if it was on the UK version of the album come to think of it!).
