6. Nowela Mikhelia ft. Epo D'Fenomeno - Runnin (CXLIII)
“Nowela is back! This time, the 2014 Indonesian Idol winner returns with a new single titled "Runnin". This becomes Nowela's first single in 2022. She also invites an Indonesian rapper Epo D'fenomeno as the collaborator.” -RRI (Republic of Indonesia Radio), roughly-translated- Meet the artists: Nowela Mikhelia: "Nowela Elizabeth Mikhelia Auparay (born 19 December 1987) is an Indonesian singer and winner of the eighth season of Indonesian Idol. Nowela was born in Wamena, Papua, Indonesia. Her father is of Papuan descent and her mother is Batak descent. After graduating from high school, she worked as a café singer for six years before participating in the eighth season of Indonesian Idol." -Wikipedia- Epo D'Fenomeno: “Epo D'Fenomeno is known well by people of Papua, especially the Papuan teenagers as one of the best rappers who have ever won the "Beef Rap Battle", which was judged by 3 famous Indonesian rappers: Iwa K, Saykoji, and Lazy. Epo also often makes songs that lift several issues happening in The Land of Papua.” -Kompasiana, roughly-translated- Chart History Nowela Mikhelia 2022 64 Runnin (Nowela Mikhelia ft. We feel like we keep wasting our time on easy DNQ entries. We understand this song contains lyrics with Indonesian, specifically Papuan language, but I hope it won't affect you pretty much. If you like our current entry, please vote for Eastovka!" -Eastovka- |

This song sounds very promising indeed!
Does this artist have any connection with Indonesian artist ABDA? Wasn’t he from a talent show too? |

It does! Both are from Indonesian Idol. Nowela was from the 2014 series, while ABDA was from the 2018 one. I feel bad, it really should have been you who entered ABDA into BJSC, I stole it! I never qualified either which was sad. But this sounds like it has real potential so I’m glad we are in the same semi final this time (even if my entry is not much for you haha). |

I feel bad, it really should have been you who entered ABDA into BJSC, I stole it! I never qualified either which was sad. Well, I don't think I'd be sending ABDA back then since my first option are always dance music, so no worries. But this sounds like it has real potential so I’m glad we are in the same semi final this time (even if my entry is not much for you haha). I'm so glad we're on the same pot as well. I might be giving some points just by seeing the title of your entries. |

8 points. God, it's worse than I expected though.
Thanks Silas for the 8 points. Our next entry genre will be announced after final. |

7. Neck Deep - Wish You Were Here (CXLIV)
“If I picture it now, it don't seem so bad Either way, I still wish you were here Our #AsiaPop40 Alternative Choice track is "Wish You Were Here" by Neck Deep!” -Asia Pop 40 on Twitter, 2022- Meet the artists: Neck Deep: "On the heels of the trio of records that turned them from underground heroes to breakout stars, All Distortions Are Intentional - out July 24th, 2020 - is the biggest and boldest step yet in the creative evolution of Neck Deep. An immersive experience from start to finish, Neck Deep’s fourth album is both a conceptual journey and straight-ahead banger, track after track. It’s polished yet raw, layered but catchy as hell. It’s a shoot-for-the-stars sonic reckoning, further proving this band’s instinctual DIY ethos has paid off once again. ADAI marks an epiphany of true self-belief for its creators: “Everyone wants to be seen as good at what they do, as creative, interesting, ambitious,” Ben asserts; “That’s what we wanted, for people to see that we are more than just some guys in a band. We truly lived and breathed this album, and wove unique perspectives, storytelling, and ideas into its fabric. We have crafted a sound that is ours, it is totally, unapologetically Neck Deep.” The “biggest band you’ve never heard of” has stepped onto the world stage, but it won’t be long before that adage is a distant memory." -Spotify- Chart History Neck Deep 2022 47 Wish You Were Here 0 x #1 | 0 x Top 5 | 0 x Top 10 | 0 x Top 20 | 0 x Top 40 | 1 x Top 75 Comments "We are glad our entry doesn’t get vetoed, for we are fully aware Neck Deep had several good performances on album charts. We chose “Wish You Were Here” because it is currently becoming a hit in Cow’s country, Indonesia. Please vote for Eastovka if you like our entry!" -Eastovka- |

Another not really surprising result as we get the 6th DNQ in our first 7 contests. Well, at least we've tried with an actual hit.
Thanks Tim, Freeze, Jordan, Luna, Jacob, and Seven for the points. |

Sad news comes from our current entry, Neck Deep, as the drummer Dani Washington/Abasi announces that he is leaving the band. Eastovka would like to wish Dani good lucks for the future. |

8. Kohta Imafuku - Orihime (BJSC 145)
“Abora Skies is delighted to present a brand-new release by Japanese talent Kohta Imafuku, who delivers a sublime piece titled 'Orihime'. This track is pure magic! Beautiful piano touches fused with angelic pads and energetic arps. The breakdown includes smooth flute and a cello symphony blended with epic background pads. These elements lead to legendary melodies and a majestic drop. The release also includes a wondrous cinematic Orchestral Mix, based on the breakdown of the trance version.” -Abora Recordings- Meet the artists: Kohta Imafuku: "A Japanese Trance Producer "Kohta Imafuku" has been producing mainly uplifting and melodic tracks since 2021. He loves to listen to and create uplifting trance." -Proton- Chart History Kohta Imafuku 2022 29 Orihime 0 x #1 | 0 x Top 5 | 0 x Top 10 | 0 x Top 20 | 1 x Top 40 | 1 x Top 75 Comments "We just want to share this orchestral trance song to other countries. We still need to learn what a good trance song is according to BJSC." -Eastovka- This post has been edited by BulikirályCow: 28th May 2022, 08:06 AM |

Just wanted to come in and hype this, by far your best ever entry for me with the way it builds and the different mood and atmosphere evoked by the different parts of the track, it's so euphoric.
I firmly believe the trance curse does not exist, we just had a few trance entries in a row that didn't connect much with people, making it appear that this was actually a thing. Generic trance that follows an obvious template will still underperform but I don't see any reason that something as uplifting and emotional, in distinct sonic parts like this, should do. Congrats on getting to the final and I hope you sweep into the top 15 or higher to quash this trance curse thing! |

Agreed, it just has to be slightly "leftfield" trance, look at Chariot - Sky Wheel which managed second in the height of the trance curse era!
This is a quite brilliant piece of music. |

I'm definitely enjoying this a lot more than other recent trance entries as well so yeah maybe people just decided to stop sending good trance songs for a while
Glad this got you another qualifier and thinking it should very easily be your biggest hit to date now. |
