Number 1
The KLF featuring the Children of the Revolution - 'What Time is Love? (Live at Trancentral)' Average rating: 10.2 Well, it couldn't really be anything else could it? The KLF's first top 40 hit (under their best known name) and the first single in the stadium house trilogy hit the charts in the late summer of 1990 and didn't leave for quite some time. Building on both the elements and the reputation of the Pure Trance original, WTIL emerged with a new pop sensibility, a rap from Isaac Bello and a plethora of 'Mu Mu's from 60s soul singer PP Arnold (indeed!) The song itself was a masterclass in calling asses to the dancefloor from its sampled "Kick out the Jams motherf***ers" intro (from MC5) to its siren call intro to its (for the time) heavy breakbeats - you really couldn't help but move. The 1990 version of What Time is Love? is deservedly Buzzjack's number one KLF record. Thanks to all who voted and those who have been following this. |

So happy that WTIL? was number 1 here. I feared that 3AM Eternal or Justified and Ancient would have nabbed the top spot due to Buzzjack's love for female vocalists.
Great countdown and it made me re-assess all the pure trance originals - thanks richie. This post has been edited by AntoineTTe: Apr 10 2015, 10:31 AM |

thanks for organising Richie - I would have reversed the top 4 myself, but the public have spoken! It's now official and there's no going back!

Apologies for the bump of a random old thread but I didn't think this warranted its own... I've finally got around to making a version of the KLF's album from around 1991/1992 that I always wanted to exist so I thought I'd share in case anyone else had always wanted one too... people who don't like interludes should probably steer clear though haha
