Slow Down the Flow slips down 5 this week, acceding the crown back to Dua Lipa, this time alongside Martin Garrix, after just one week. Scared To Be Lonely marks Lipa’s second #1 in the space of four weeks, and adds her to an exclusive club of acts to’ve topped the chart more than once – although, given that I only started charts in this format last summer, that’s not quite as impressive as it could be. It was close at the top throughout the week between Dua Garrix and Nelly Furtado’s Cold Hard Truth, which takes this week’s silver, and gains a new peak. Altogether, seven of this week’s top ten re-peak this week, and the presence of Nelly, Missy Elliott, Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Goldfrapp all up there gives it something of a throwback feel.

New entries this week come in near the back end of the top 40. Surprisingly, the highest goes to UK alt rock outfit Deaf Havana, at #19; Cold War Kids, in a similar genre, also see a big surge this week, both outwith my usual remit of softer indie and electronica acts. Other new entries this week come from Kehlani, Bear’s Den, Evanescence frontwoman Amy Lee, Banks, Texas, ex-Saturday Una Healy, and Tinie Tempah. As AK + Veela’s Parallel Worlds finally drops out this week, longest-runner status goes to Fergie’s Life Goes On, which has proved to have much more longevity than its initial 31-27-28-out run suggested when it debuted back in November.
