Lighthouse back top 1000
I really like Hold My Hand and am indeed hoping for it to be #1, for me Rather Be > My Love > Hold My Hand > Right Here > Real Love For me it is: Right Here (10/10)>>> Rather Be (9/10)>>Hold My Hand (8/10)>>>>My Love (6/10)>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Real Love (2/10) |

Surprised to see Solo 45 and especially Kano up there on the pre-order list. Would be great if these songs did well, as neither sound like a manufactured chart hit.
Are there noticeably more 'urban' songs than in recent years though? Theres been a notable increase since 2013 and don't forget that house and drum & bass are classed as urban too. All for more Hip Hop and R&B charting though! |

I agree about 'Hold My Hand' being rather lacklustre. It strangely parallels the verses of 'Funky Town' in it's own verses for me, although really the chorus is the detriment. Her features have been vastly superior and 'Right Here' was alright. It's going to be hard to live up to said features now.

Rather Be is the only Jess Glynne related song I'm fussed with, the others all vary from average to bad for me. Shame cause I want to like her, she has a great voice

Same goes for garage (where the urban influence is a lot more noticeable) |

Same goes for garage (where the urban influence is a lot more noticeable) Well House originated in the Afro-American community in Chicago and is heavily supported by radio stations like Rinse FM & 1Xtra so I'd say it can be classed as 'urban'. I think Drum & Bass and Garage, along with House, belong to urban as well as Dance. |

A bit miffed at all the indifference towards 'Hold My Hand'. If it does reach the top spot - which looks pretty inevitable right now - then it'll be by far my favourite number 1 of the year so far. I adore both it and 'Right Here'.
In all fairness though, most of the responses towards it are exactly how I feel about 'King' - it just seems so limp to me. This post has been edited by Defaze: 7th March 2015, 09:52 PM |
