BuzzJack Music Forum _ Dance _ Top Dance Forum Posters of All Time

Posted by: Danvember 13th November 2016, 09:12 PM

Two years ago me and Leww revealed the top dance forum posters of all time. We now revisit that list with a few changes. We have quite a few new entries, including two in the top ten, but ultimately who is it that's posted the most amount of times in the forum? Will Buzzjack veteran Euphorique keep his #1 or has he been overtaken by one of the current active users?

Here's what the top 10 looked like previously.

1 Euphorique
2 gooddelta
3 danG
4 mr_pmt / aly
5 ScottyEm
6 j-jay
7 TomKay
8 Jonjo
9 *Ben*
10 Ethan

Me and Dobbo reveal all.

Posted by: spun. 13th November 2016, 09:35 PM

I might make top 50, or if there's one for 2016 the top 20 maybe

#91-99

91 58 107 tigerboy
92 59 106 La La Land
93 N 106 Stu1985
94 N 105 djgrafdemon
95 N 105 Iz~
96 77 102 Addy K!ng
97 98 102 SLlewellyn
98 N 102 Sonar
99 N 100 Steve201

Only a top 99 eh? Well that's because one place in the top 100 belongs to a deleted member, or all of them combined I don't even know lol, so that has been removed from the chart.

At the bottom end and with exactly a hundred posts is Steve201. Mr. 201 can often be found in the chart forum expressing his opinion on anything, and used to be famed for his OA/OS rants although those have ended now that everything is actually released OA/OS, including Ministry of Sound releases!!

New at #98 is Sonar, a poster who we don't really know a lot about but nonetheless he is often found in the dance forum liking a bangin' choon. In fact he has only posted 149 times, meaning 68% of his posts were made in the dance forum!

SLlewellyn remains fairly stable as he climbs one place after two years. Addy K!ng falls to #96 but perhaps we could see a climb for him in the future now that he is starting to become a regular of Buzzjack again and of course a huge dance music fan, especially of late 90s trance and techno!

Global moderator Iz~ likes quite a few dance tunes and is a very active member across the board. Despite that he just makes our chart here, entering at #95. He ties on posts with djgrafdemon, new at #94, another member who mostly sticks to the dance forum and can be seen appreciating da choonz in many threads.

The final new entry in this batch comes from Stu1985, another poster here who sticks to the dance forum. In fact, about 97% of his posts are dance forum posts, only 3 made outside of dance. He enters at #93 behind two fallers who have been inactive for the last 2 years.

Posted by: Dobbo 13th November 2016, 09:54 PM

I really rate djgrafdemon, good poster.

Please post more in here Addy!

Next batch coming up at some point later...

lewistgreen will be #1 tongue.gif

idk if I'll even make the list at all, only if all those Zedd releases have anything to do with it

Posted by: spun. 13th November 2016, 10:20 PM

Dobbo and Dan will most likely be top 2 I think!

OMG yassss. Hopefully I'll be top 50 but I honestly have no idea how high I'll be ─ I've probably made around 300 posts.

#81-90:

81 70 116 KWEEN_DEE
82 N 114 awardinary
83 69 114 Insomnio
84 54 113 Music_junkie
85 N 113 HarryEzra
86 N 112 JosephStyles
87 55 112 Chris_2k14
88 93 111 J▲hq
89 61 108 Silas
90 73 107 152chris

At #90 we find 1 half of 152wild, where will the other half feature (if at all?) Just ahead are 2 of the BJSC mods who rarely post here, although J▲hq does climb a little from 2 years back. I'm not so familiar with the name Chris_2k14 but if that relates to the year he joined I really should be! He is one of the biggest fallers overall however.

2 new entries at #86 & #85 come in the form of Chart Mod JosephStyles & Ezra enthusiast HarryEzra. Both perhaps not known predominantly for their love of Dance Music but who do make the odd appearance here & there around the Forum, enough to make the top 100 at least!

Another name I don't recognise in Music_junkie appears just behind Insomnio, who isn't as regular as poster as he used to be in general hence the drop.

Another new entry in this section comes in the form of awardinary, a very promising new member with a superb taste in Dance music & making splashes elsewhere around the site with the Now Series Polls (I'll do edition #15 soon!!) Rounding off this batch is another poster who I tend to see in other parts of site (moreso Pop & The Lounge), KWEEN_DEE.

I have listened to All Fired Up again, I think it is actually progressive house influenced pop. The end of Champagne Showers is progressive house too. laugh.gif

#71-80

71 48 126 Feel_The_Fever
72 75 124 dandy*
73 49 124 SoManyOstriches
74 50 120 1Dave2006
75 82 120 Froot.
76 N 120 ML Hammer95
77 91 119 jakewild
78 52 118 Aled.
79 95 118 Doctor Blind
80 N 117 PeteFromLeeds

PeteFromLeeds is one of the big newcomers of 2016 and he makes a good start on the chart already, entering at #80. We'd definitely like to see more of you around, excellent dance music taste.

Doctor Blind is a poster you'd associate more with the chart forum, but he's not necessarily a fan of mainstream music, instead preferring the sales and discussion aspects of the forum. He mostly listens to indie although he does have an ear for a few dance tunes and so climbs to #79.

Jakewild outdoes his BuzzTwin 152chris here climbing to #77. He's known to regular BJSC participants for being great at finding big dance tunes, and even won recently by digging up an old Crystal Waters flop single!

ML Hammer95 is a regular chart forum poster and lover of urban music, and seeing as popular dance music has been more urban-inspired than ever before now it should come as no surprise that he's made quite a few posts here. Another great newcomer.

Smaller climbs come from semi-regular board posters dandy* and Froot. We also see four inactive users face large drops, including Feel_The_Fever, who has the second-highest post count across the board but is rarely seen now.

Posted by: dandy* 14th November 2016, 10:24 PM

Have I really only posted in here 124 times? Wow, I thought it would be way more than that.

I really do like dance music as well, albeit my tastes are more towards the electronica end of the scale as opposed to the more chart friendly dance this is often discussed in here. That said, I do love myself some progressive stuff too and I download no end of 'serious' dance albums (sorry for the term) so I'd have definitely have expected me to have more activity than that.

#61-70:

61 46 160 THEO.
62 N 153 JOTA
63 74 150 slowdown73
64 86 147 Red Blooded Man
65 64 145 Ne Plus Ultra
66 63 142 Joe.
67 56 140 Mart!n
68 88 137 Chez Wombat
69 60 132 Klumzee
70 89 129 HausofHorrors

The next section sees some well-established Buzzjack posters, HausofHorrors & Chez Wombat both with handsome climbs into the top 70. We also see the most prolific poster of all time across the website in Mart!n, but only 140 of his 120K posts have been in this Forum! Joe. & Klumzee complete the lower half of the batch.

Into the top 65 and casual Dance Forum posters slowdown73, Red Blooded Man & Ne Plus Ultra all feature with only the latter falling (albeit only slightly) over the past 2 years. The only new entry in the 60s comes in the form of JOTA, a fantastic asset to the Forum & his weekly Dance Anthem compilations have become essential viewing for me this year, keep them up!

Rounding off the section is THEO. who falls 15 places from the last edition to just outside the top 60.

Ooh Dan you tease, got me hyped up there :')

#51-60

51 39 187 Jester
52 47 183 Josh.
53 N 182 UltraBasicWitch
54 45 181 JSG
55 40 181 Rooney
56 84 178 jase.
57 N 169 Inna Selez
58 57 169 RobBob
59 43 165 AaronTM
60 65 162 Davidson

Next section time, firstly we have a small climber from R&B mod and Jessie J fan (a rare breed) Davidson. He can currently be found stanning Solange, Tinashe and Frank Ocean but sometimes pops in the dance forum too. We have another climber at #56 from Jase who's up a massive 28 positions. Chart forum regulars will be familiar with the poster.

RobBob (Robot) remains semi-active but falls a place to #58. Relatively new poster Inna Selez from Hungary, possibly named after a Romanian dancepop singer but it could well be her real name too. Active dance forum posters will be familiar with her posts by now but she's another new entry here who mainly sticks to the dance forum. Not a bad thing, of course! tongue.gif

Another new entry comes from UltraBasicWitch (Ultraviolence1989). Mostly known now for doing a great job of modding the movies forum and being a big pop music fan, she occasionally visits the dance forum too. As should everyone. cheer.gif

Small drops come from Josh and JSG, and larger drops from Jester, Rooney and AaronTM.

I was joking with the entry on this thread as I know I do categorise too much by genres here.

It is hard not to talk about genres because today arguably dance music in the charts is more genre defined than ever (maybe with the exception of 2002, heavily defined by eurotrance), with the dominance of tropical house and future bass (which have very distinctive sounds) and I am looking forward to seeing what popular genre will come next after those wane in popularity.

I do appreciate songs which have absolutely no direct link to 00s dance styles, like Zara Larsson's Ain't My Fault.

I do understand this, and it's always good to have a good discussion about genres or the future trends, but you're just spinning the same records on and on and on. Maybe you don't realise it, but you're always talking about the same things, the same arguments and it's getting to be really uninteresting. sad.gif

There will always be comparisons between styles of songs that I will discuss but I will try and keep the comment to a single one on an appropriate thread.

I really don't like much of the new modern dance styles at the minute of tropical house or future bass anyway so I do hope the future trends start soon. smile.gif

#41-50:

41 33 212 _____ / Griff
42 66 210 SevenSeize
44 29 209 GRIMLY FIENDISH
43 30 209 Mark.
45 36 207 Alolan Exeggutor
46 31 206 Mushymanrob
47 42 203 Cremey
48 38 195 Colm
49 N 192 TheSnake
50 37 191 Zárate

So we begin the top 50 with a less frequent poster nowadays in Zárate, dropping 13 places. Just ahead is a notable new entry, TheSnake, lover of all things ~funky~ and providing some very good discussions about all the sub genres & their popularity through time. I feel the only way is up for this poster!

Frequent visitors to the UK Chart Forum will remember the fantastic job Colm did with the Dance Chart Number Ones of the 90s thread. He may not be as prolific in this Forum anymore but he's certainly got a good ear for a dance song. Cremey is more commonly found in the Urban & Sports Forums but still posts here time to time, enough to avoid suffering as large a drop as others in this section - Mushymanrob, Mark. & GRIMLY FRIENDISH all names I unfortunately don't recognise!

One of the best usernames across the whole site, Alolan Exeggutor, slips to the mid fourties whereas Buzzjack's very own psychic SevenSeize heads in the other direction with a 24 place climb. Rounding off the section is Griff, a far more infrequent poster these days across the board.

#31-40

31 19 247 JDL
32 41 240 Math ☂
33 21 239 russt68
34 22 234 Ricky
35 35 233 Conderella
36 28 233 Jack
37 53 232 gavindeejay
38 27 227 Eric_Blob
39 44 226 James1987
40 26 226 Joao.

Into the top 40 now and there are no new entries to report in this section. Starting off is a faller from inactive user Joao, who ties for posts with James1987. He makes a small climb into the top 40 to reflect his semi-activity over the past few years, though it seems we are seeing less of him now. Don't leave us sad.gif

A poster who did sadly leave over a year ago is Eric_Blob, once a very well known name in the chart forum but it all eventually got too much for him. He falls to #38 here. Another notable faller is Jack, one of the top posters of Buzzjack and still posts sometimes, mostly in the lounge though. Other fallers come from now-completely inactive posters JDL, russt68 and Ricky.

gavindeejay, as the name may suggest does like a few dance tunes, and he sees a rise of 16 places - the largest in this section. Like James1987 though he doesn't seem to be as active as he once was, so this may be his peak. Conderella is one of only a few non-movers at #35, and Math climbs to #32 after just missing a top 40 place last time this was ran.

#21-30:

21 18 353 Bré
22 24 340 Jake
23 N 330 mdh
24 32 317 Ryan.
25 N 307 Juan Carlos 🕊
26 23 295 Nick F1
27 17 292 Simon.
28 20 269 Atonement
29 25 261 Rob S~
30 34 250 :') / Kath

Kicking off at #30 is Gaga stan Kath who at least in that profile appears to have departed the Buzzjack scene but nevertheless makes a small climb. Heading in the other direction are Rob S~, Atonement, Simon. & Nick F1, all who are more prominent in other areas of the board however do make the odd appearance in the Forum from time to time!

We also see 2 brand new entries in the upper quartile. First from Juan Carlos who is known for initiating many threads of the big upcoming dance singles (what are your hot sources ohmy.gif) & providing very useful updates in the build-up to their releases. Just ahead is one of the most prominent posters of the year in mdh who makes a very strong start here as well! They sandwich Pop & BJSC mod Ryan who sees an 8 place climb from 2 years ago.

Just missing the top 20 are Indie & Alternative mod Jake who edges even closer & Bré who conversely just slips out, it's a shame The Prodigy's album last year wasn't quite as successful as its predecessor right?!

that's a big surprise, hopefully I'll be top ten by the time the next one comes out happy.gif

Pretty high post counts and I'm still not out yet ohmy.gif will probably be next or in the 11-15 section, doubt I'll be top 10 laugh.gif

#11-20

11 8 609 Jonjo
12 9 585 *Ben*
13 7 579 TomKay
14 15 551 Cucumberella
15 N 513 Cody Slayberry
16 16 417 Liam
17 11 383 JonieWonie
18 12 379 Mikal
19 14 370 jark
20 13 362 Harve

Not a huge lot going on in this section so firstly let's look at the big new entry here. Cody Slayberry is known, amongst other things, for being a big commercial EDM fan and the forum's biggest Zedd stan. He'll probably be surprised at this position but he is the third-highest new entry at #15 (spun and lewistgreen are both new entries in the top ten), and is very prominent across the whole forum.

Pop mod Liam is a non-mover at #16. Below him are four fallers; from inactive posters JonieWonie and Mikal as well as still-well-known-but-not-as-regular posters Jark and Harve.

Former dance mod Cucumberella climbs one place to #14 this year. He recently stepped down after taking up his role as BJSC moderator and not having enough time for the dance forum these days. We still see him here sometimes jamming to the more ~indie~/less commercial side of dance. For those in BJSC, you'll know him for introducing us to some great dance choons (such as https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A1CKiO8CbEs, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6od76UNHt-M and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LLsLRrbELDk - check 'em out).

Above him, TomKay falls down to #13 after being inactive for two years. *Ben* and Jonjo continue to make a few posts here but drop out of the top 10 in favour of new arrivals. Ben is mostly known for being a long-time chart forum moderator, and Jonjo for being a big fan of pop and RnB music (though clearly dance is of some interest to him also!).

~

The top 10 consist of the following posters then:

Not to forget, I was a Dance forum mod too a couple of years ago heehee.gif

#9-10:

9 5 668 ScottyEm
10 6 622 j-jay

Might as well get the ball rolling on the top 10, starting with 2 posters I've never heard of! Nothing much to add here, both dropping 4 positions but at least remaining in the all-important top 10!

Posted by: *Ben* 27th November 2016, 07:36 AM

J-jay was the Dance forum mod at the beginning. Not posting since many years.

Posted by: CHOCOLATE BANTA 27th November 2016, 12:29 PM

I think there should be a kind of moderator archive if none exists, would be fun to see mods from days gone ohmy.gif

Posted by: Iz~ 27th November 2016, 01:16 PM

Only 105 posts? Well at least I made the list this time, I really do need to post in here more with the amount of dance tracks I get into basically all of the time.

The wayback machine is the closest you're going to get to that Spadz tongue.gif Though I think most of the members who've been here longer will remember the mods, although having said that I can't for the life of me think who was modding this forum when I joined, Euphorique and *Ben* sounds like it could be right but I'm not sure on that.

100 post exactly 1 not bad - and I can't believe I'm still known for my views on OAOS - I thought I had won that arguement in 2015!!?

First from Juan Carlos who is known for initiating many threads of the big upcoming dance singles (what are your hot sources ohmy.gif) & providing very useful updates in the build-up to their releases.
Thanks Dobbo! Personally, I didn't realize that I have created a lot of threads until I saw the topics. Wow! Anyway, I guess it's a coincidence that I'm at the right time when I make them, although I don't think that I have made them from the big upcoming dance releases.

#7-8

7 N 794 lewistgreen
8 N 743 spun.

What's this? ohmy.gif Two new entries straight into the top ten.

At #8 a man of many usernames, spun at the time this chart was made and currently CHOCOLATE BANTA, he is perhaps best known for being Spinning Adam. He's also known for being a huge fan of all things EDM particularly Avicii dance.gif If you're looking for a new straight up dance banger, Adam's personal chart is a good place to check out.

New at #7 is lewistgreen. Dance forum regulars will instantly recognise the name as he's created lots of threads for fresh new releases - about as many as myself if not more! He's always first to post a new music video or tell us how banging a new dance tune is and in general is a great asset to the forum.

Posted by: CHOCOLATE BANTA 30th November 2016, 08:53 PM

That seems like a lot of posts, but comparing it to my total count it's not surprising kink.gif

Gwon lewis also cheer.gif

2 brilliant posters & contributors to the Dance Forum there. Adam, we need you as active as you were when you first arrived biggrin.gif & Lewis keep up the great work, I've discovered a lot of great songs from your topics!

#5-6:

5 2 1169 gooddelta
6 51 906 Dobbo

The highest climber by far since last time & recently appointed Dance Mod, that would be... myself! This is easily one of my favourite Forums on the site, akin to the majority of my music tastes so it comes as no surprise I've made so many posts here kink.gif Can't be too far off joining the thousand club by now...

...which as time of press was occupied by only 5 members. In fifth position is gooddelta, active across many areas of the board & known for loving the odd dance song or two. He does fall 3 places but nonetheless sets a strong target for myself & the rest of the top 10 to aim for happy.gif

Just 4 posters to go, any predictions?

Posted by: gooddelta 4th December 2016, 09:16 PM

Steep drop for me! But it's testament to the forum becoming so much more active this year which is great to see! Dance music at its finest will always have the power to conquer every other genre for me, I think the majority of my all-time top ten are dance tracks.

Posted by: Dancember 8th December 2016, 06:12 PM

#3-4

3 10 1364 Ethan
4 4 1240 mr_pmt

forgive me for dragging this out so much. At #4 we have a non-mover from mr_pmt (Aly). A poster you'd associate with the chart forum more than anything else, his love/hate (delete as applicable) for chart music brings him into the genre-specific forums often too and he often has something to say about the big dance hits! And some of the flops too (poor 'Do It Right' cry.gif ).

Ethan is a poster one would very much associate with the dance forum, with an excellent music taste. He's always the first to let you know if a track is SICK or BANGING and often shares his own discoveries. Sadly we've been seeing less of him in the forum recently (he was last seen on Buzzjack 18th Nov) but we can hope everything is alright and he makes a comeback soon enough.

Whilst Ethan has significantly gained in this chart, he is over 500 posts away from overtaking the poster in second place. Which is either myself or Euphorique. Dobbo reveals.

Posted by: CodySleighBell-y 8th December 2016, 08:26 PM

Maybe Ethan was jumped because word got out that he was a Trump supporter/Brexiter

yeah it seems now unfortunately too many people went against him and he doesn't feel like he's welcome here anymore sad.gif

Posted by: christmdhas 8th December 2016, 10:46 PM

the thing is, Ethan is actually a really really nice person! like we've dmed a few times and he's always come across as super friendly and easy going.

Posted by: Dobbo 11th December 2016, 08:42 PM

So 98 posters down & 2 remain - it's between danG & Euphorique.

I can now officially reveal second place goes to...

#2:
2 1 1877 Euphorique

So there we have it, the winner from 2 years ago has been ousted from the top! Euphorique is of course still an active poster, albeit not so much in this Forum anymore, where he must have been exceedingly spammy (jokes kink.gif) once upon a time. Euphorique is still some distance ahead of 3rd placed Ethan & has more than double my own posts so it's highly likely he'll still occupy the top 2 the next time this is run whenever ever that may be!

As for #1, well it's only the right thing to do to hand it over to the man himself to officially announce himself as champ, well done! winner.gif

Posted by: Dancember 12th December 2016, 08:54 PM

#1

winner.gif 1 3 2163 danG winner.gif

In the end it is no contest (with a ~300 post lead which has likely grown further since the list was compiled a month ago), and I can now announce myself as the top poster of this forum's history biggrin.gif

A little self-history: I joined the genre forum mod team almost three years ago to this day, replacing Ben who had stepped down and more-or-less modded the dance forum solo as co-mod Euphorique was fairly inactive by this point. He'd then be replaced by leww a few months later, who himself recently stepped down for Dobbo, following taking up BJSC modding commitments.

I've been a passionate fan of dance music for as long as I can remember so it's unsurprising that I'm #1 here, long live the banging tunes! cheer.gif
