#71-80

71 48 126 Feel_The_Fever
72 75 124 dandy*
73 49 124 SoManyOstriches
74 50 120 1Dave2006
75 82 120 Froot.
76 N 120 ML Hammer95
77 91 119 jakewild
78 52 118 Aled.
79 95 118 Doctor Blind
80 N 117 PeteFromLeeds

PeteFromLeeds is one of the big newcomers of 2016 and he makes a good start on the chart already, entering at #80. We'd definitely like to see more of you around, excellent dance music taste.

Doctor Blind is a poster you'd associate more with the chart forum, but he's not necessarily a fan of mainstream music, instead preferring the sales and discussion aspects of the forum. He mostly listens to indie although he does have an ear for a few dance tunes and so climbs to #79.

Jakewild outdoes his BuzzTwin 152chris here climbing to #77. He's known to regular BJSC participants for being great at finding big dance tunes, and even won recently by digging up an old Crystal Waters flop single!

ML Hammer95 is a regular chart forum poster and lover of urban music, and seeing as popular dance music has been more urban-inspired than ever before now it should come as no surprise that he's made quite a few posts here. Another great newcomer.

Smaller climbs come from semi-regular board posters dandy* and Froot. We also see four inactive users face large drops, including Feel_The_Fever, who has the second-highest post count across the board but is rarely seen now.

Have I really only posted in here 124 times? Wow, I thought it would be way more than that.

I really do like dance music as well, albeit my tastes are more towards the electronica end of the scale as opposed to the more chart friendly dance this is often discussed in here. That said, I do love myself some progressive stuff too and I download no end of 'serious' dance albums (sorry for the term) so I'd have definitely have expected me to have more activity than that.

Thanks! Surprised to be this high actually, but I guess I do post more here than the other genre forums

#61-70:

61 46 160 THEO.
62 N 153 JOTA
63 74 150 slowdown73
64 86 147 Red Blooded Man
65 64 145 Ne Plus Ultra
66 63 142 Joe.
67 56 140 Mart!n
68 88 137 Chez Wombat
69 60 132 Klumzee
70 89 129 HausofHorrors

The next section sees some well-established Buzzjack posters, HausofHorrors & Chez Wombat both with handsome climbs into the top 70. We also see the most prolific poster of all time across the website in Mart!n, but only 140 of his 120K posts have been in this Forum! Joe. & Klumzee complete the lower half of the batch.

Into the top 65 and casual Dance Forum posters slowdown73, Red Blooded Man & Ne Plus Ultra all feature with only the latter falling (albeit only slightly) over the past 2 years. The only new entry in the 60s comes in the form of JOTA, a fantastic asset to the Forum & his weekly Dance Anthem compilations have become essential viewing for me this year, keep them up!

Rounding off the section is THEO. who falls 15 places from the last edition to just outside the top 60.

#51-60

51 39 187 Jester
52 47 183 Josh.
53 N 182 UltraBasicWitch
54 45 181 JSG
55 40 181 Rooney
56 84 178 jase.
57 N 169 Inna Selez
58 57 169 RobBob
59 43 165 AaronTM
60 65 162 Davidson

Next section time, firstly we have a small climber from R&B mod and Jessie J fan (a rare breed) Davidson. He can currently be found stanning Solange, Tinashe and Frank Ocean but sometimes pops in the dance forum too. We have another climber at #56 from Jase who's up a massive 28 positions. Chart forum regulars will be familiar with the poster.

RobBob (Robot) remains semi-active but falls a place to #58. Relatively new poster Inna Selez from Hungary, possibly named after a Romanian dancepop singer but it could well be her real name too. Active dance forum posters will be familiar with her posts by now but she's another new entry here who mainly sticks to the dance forum. Not a bad thing, of course! tongue.gif

Another new entry comes from UltraBasicWitch (Ultraviolence1989). Mostly known now for doing a great job of modding the movies forum and being a big pop music fan, she occasionally visits the dance forum too. As should everyone. cheer.gif

Small drops come from Josh and JSG, and larger drops from Jester, Rooney and AaronTM.

only 5 posters have made 1,000+ posts in the dance forum, and as I was #3 last time I ran this it's probably not much of a spoiler to say I'm one of them laugh.gif

Haha my posts about what is and what isn't trance are going to mean I am quite a high new entry..ohmy.gif

I have listened to All Fired Up again, I think it is actually progressive house influenced pop. The end of Champagne Showers is progressive house too. laugh.gif

It's unbelievable that it doesn't matter what the thread is all about, you're always find the opportunity to try to put a song in a genre or try to find out the influence of it. This is almost fanatism laugh.gif
I wish one day you would only enjoy a song how it is and what it is and not trying to put it into a genre smile.gif

I was joking with the entry on this thread as I know I do categorise too much by genres here.

It is hard not to talk about genres because today arguably dance music in the charts is more genre defined than ever (maybe with the exception of 2002, heavily defined by eurotrance), with the dominance of tropical house and future bass (which have very distinctive sounds) and I am looking forward to seeing what popular genre will come next after those wane in popularity.

I do appreciate songs which have absolutely no direct link to 00s dance styles, like Zara Larsson's Ain't My Fault.
