Jess Glynne's sales are much higher than I thought they'd be at this stage!

Yes Jess! Brilliant sales and wow at Cilla's increase at this stage too already outsold last week!
Really hoping Rachel Platten can stay there and keep the Meghan Trainor mess from climbing back to the top, praying for this girl to release something vaguely bearable sometime soon. |

fantastic start for queen jess :cheeseblock: ~ 37.7k would've been a decent tally for the entire week
*sigh* @ rachel patten limping her way to the top, it just has the air of '#1 by default' as the biggest single of the moment, SIGALA, is being unduly held back~ top 5 is a tremendous result for 'ain't nobody' considering the random r1 snubbing ~ poor ella eyre with digital sales so low, 'good times' was always going to be hammered by streaming~ |

Fight Song has been massive worldwide so it was obvious that it would follow suit in the UK. Its #1 status probably wouldn't have happened if it were OA/OS but there's nothing to suggest that Sigala's song is the most popular right now, however obvious a #1 it looks. |

I don't know who else thinks this but I reckon Fight Song sounds a bit like Love Me Like You Do so it's not too surprising to see it go to #1.

FS would be selling even better if everybody didn't own it already. It's been hit EVERYWHERE for months.

Jess Glynne's sales are much higher than I thought they'd be at this stage! Indeed - 37.7k is notably high after just two days. Could it break 100k? I don't know what the largest weekly sale for an album is this year but it could end up as one of the highest. Bars and Melody haven't done too badly either - they've sold double what Andrea Faustini sold in the first week but they probably have had more promotion. |

Great sales for Jess! Hopefully 55-60k by the end of the week. Shouldn't have much trouble going platinum I don't think.

I'm shocked at Jess' sales, I thought she'd manage around 30k at best! So to be looking at comfortably over 50k is fantastic for her.

Jess Glynne has already outsold Cheryl's first week for her last album in 3 days... without the need to get married or perform on the X-Factor.

Come back when it outsells 3 Words' first week in the same amount of time.

I must say, I disagree with this! Fight Song has been massive worldwide so it was obvious that it would follow suit in the UK. Its #1 status probably wouldn't have happened if it were OA/OS but there's nothing to suggest that Sigala's song is the most popular right now, however obvious a #1 it looks. 'fight song' is only on course to do, at best, a highly lackluster 50k this week, which shows the demand wasn't quite as massive here and only finds itself at the top due to a lack of competition... the fact that Sigala's pre-order has been a permanent fixture in the top100 for several weeks now suggests that it would've been #1, by a considerable margin, had it been brought forwards~ This post has been edited by Ethan: 24th August 2015, 09:19 PM |

Even if there was a slight 'tongue in cheek' with this post, it's pretty stupid to compare an artist on their first album with another on their fourth album. Let's see what type of numbers Jess is selling 5 years time shall we. |
