Pitting females against each other!!1

I have seen on stan Twitter than fans of each of these artists readily shade the other 2? Fans can be toxic~ SO this isn't a battle between the three, more a chance to share your love for one of them or more. Vote in the poll for your favourite between these three ~alternate pop~ kweens and let's see who Buzzjack is most in love with!

Also to add to the love, share your favourite song by each artist below cheer.gif

Lorde is my favourite by a very very very comfortable distance! I loved early Lana but she's lost me a fair bit with her recent eras, and I've never fully connected with a Billie song yet.

Favourite songs by each:

Lorde - Ribs
Lana - Ride
Billie - bad guy

Lana by FAR. I don't get the Billie appeal AT ALL and find her music/ style boring. Lorde is ok, but not on Lana's level, and Solar Power is just a mess.

Lana - Mariner's Apartment Complex/ Born To Die
Lorde - Tennis Courts/ Green Light
Billie - none of them oop

I mean, look at Lana's NFR! Who can come close to that masterpiece??

Lana. Lords doesn’t have enough material to match her, Billie isn’t even vaguely in the same league as the others.

I'd probably favour Lana out of the three, although I find she does tend to do the same thing over and over again a lot of the time.

I enjoy a fair bit of Lorde's music and Melodrama is an excellent album, but I do find her voice a bit hard to get past sometimes.

Billie Eyelash can get lost.

Lana: Video Games
Lorde: Green Light
Billie: Bury a Friend

I voted for Lana because she's released SEVEN albums now and I've enjoyed all of them which is a pretty fantastic hit rate. Both of Lorde's albums are incredible too but it's difficult to compare when she has so much less material. So Lana feels right at least for now. Billie third, she's definitely the most hit-or-miss of the three so far, but has strong highs. All three are very talented women!

Favourite song by each...

Billie - when the party's over
Lana - Ride
Lorde - Tennis Court

In the poll we should be able to vote for more than one to be fair...

I love all 3 of them but Lana wins. So many great albums and so many amazing songs and she can make incredible albums again and again. She has probably 10 songs that I'd rate as an 11/10.
Lorde would be my 2nd fav and I like both albums but don't love them. She has 2/3 songs that I'd rate as an 11/10.
Billie is also great but her best song I'd rate as a 9.5.

fav songs:
Lana - Video games, Venice bitch, Summertime sadness, Love, Cherry, West Coast, Chemtrails, National anthem
Lorde - Tennis court, Green light
Billie - Everything I wanted, You should see me in a crown, Ocean eyes

but anyway, best alt queen is Phoebe Bridgers wink.gif <3 <3 <3

Both of Lorde's albums are easily better than all of Lana's albums for me so I did vote for Lorde even though it remains to be seen if she can maintain quality for as long as Lana (generally) has. God knows if Lorde will ever even release as many as 6 albums at the rate she releases at kink.gif

Melodrama > Pure Heroine > Ultraviolence > Norman Fucking Rockwell! > Born To Die > WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO? > Chemtrails Over The Country Club > Honeymoon > Lust For Life x

Lorde - I really liked Pure Heroine, but for some reason I never made time for Melodrama (I know... I must hear it someday, I've seen so much praise!)
Billie - I've only heard her singles (maybe not all of them), and she can be very hit and miss for me.
Lana - I dip in and out with her music for some reason - I've heard the albums Born to Die, Lust for Life and NFR, but not Ultraviolence, Honeymoon or Chemtrails. I'm not even sure why that is, because I actually adore the three albums I've heard.

I'll vote for Lana considering I've heard more of her albums and connected with them!

I think Lana's the best writer... Lorde has real potential to be an interesting artist but I think the large gaps between her music and therefore, lack of music, makes her seem a little uninteresting.

I wouldn’t really put Billie in the mix here — Lorde and Lana are two of the most influential popstars of the last decade, and really Billie exists because of them.

Lorde, definitely. Two albums of perfection that are doing different things, with a third looking to do something different as well. I saw Greg James tweet that Green Light essentially completed pop music laugh.gif The only proper misfire is the deluxe tracks to Pure Heroine, which I think came from the EP?

Lana suffers from having too much material for me as it’s very overwhelming when the difference between the styles of the songs are subtle at first listen. I’m similar to Jay where I’ve heavily listened to some albums but then not listened to others at all. BTD and NFR have always been on regular repeat. I’ve listened to Chemtrails a few times (moreso because of NFR) and Ultraviolence once. I’ve never properly gone into Honeymoon or LFL (despite adoring the two lead singles). I’ve not bothered with the three latest singles either.

Billie, I can very much take or leave. I really didn’t get her at the start, then Bad Guy was undeniable. Everything I Wanted is incredible and I’m a massive fan of Therefore I Am. I can then take or leave the rest, not really here for what seems to be the MOR era though.

Lorde: Green Light
Lana: Ride
Billie: Everything I Wanted

Lana >>>>

Billie is great too but she hasn't been around long enough to compete with Lana really.

Never heard of a Lorde sorry x

My first thought is no one.

If I'm pushed I'd say Billie as Bad Guy and Therefore I Am are amazing but a lot of her material I don't care for.

I voted for Billie. Think her 'When we all fall asleep' album is amazing from start to finish and loved her standalone singles 'Everything I Wanted' and 'No Time to Die'. I also genuinely really like her 4 singles from the new album and although can understand many being less than impressed I think they are rewarding listens especially the haunting 'Your Power'

Mind you dont know much of the other artists - did love 'West Coast' by Lana and 'Green Light' by Lorde. Excellent tracks. 'Solar Power' by Lorde is a bit meh. Sounds like a George Michael cover.
