(The brilliant poster, imo)

Finally a trailer has been released:

Always been a fan of Paul Rudd and whilst I'm very excited to see what he can bring as a Superhero character, I'm also a little hessitant, that he won't be quite what is needed. He has a certain charm and charisma about him and I really want him to pull it off! But we shall see.

I love the poster laugh.gif

I don't always like Marvel films, they're the sort of thing I sometimes watch a few months after because my friends just out them on when I'm there or something and we're all watching a movie, but this looks great and I always love Paul Rudd so I may well have to check it out. He's looking hotter than ever too as a plus side note kink.gif

New trailer is better than what we've seen so far! Looks very good after lots of uncertainty.

That looks pretty impressive, ooh did i spy Evangeline Lily wub.gif

I'm also looking forward to The Fantastic 4 movie this summer, they have gone back to basics and stripped it well back based on the comics.

You mean aside from the fact that they made the Human Torch black and rather than having them get their powers from radiation while in space, they get them from teleporting to an alternate universe?

^It's from 'Drive'!

I'm not sure what to make of this really, even after the trailer! I don't see it being a highlight of MCU anyway. As for success, I think it'll test the true power of the Marvel name although it's probably lucky that it comes straight after Age of Ultron. I was proved wrong about the success of 'Guardians of the Galaxy' though so we'll have to see!

Oh i have never seen Drive, must have been a Vine or something - that's how I usually see random film things when people come up with these kinds of parodies etc.!

So pumped for this with the new TV spot/trailer - the comedic potential is great alongside the stories. I always prefer light hearted films! I never get so excited over Marvel, the power of Paul Rudd ohmy.gif

Saw this tonight - It's surprisingly good! Slick, funny, silly and the effects look great!

TWO good end of credits scenes, so make sure you stay. Regina in particular will enjoy the second one.

He may or may not briefly get his face in. Looking somewhat tortured and...wet?

This is actually not bad, I don't know much about the Ant-Man universe, I wouldn't say it was spectacular though, its probably the weakest of all the Marvel films. I found it very comical in places, with the 3 stooges that was helping Ant-Man out, that small guy had all the great punchlines laugh.gif and probably stole the whole film.

I thought it was brill, Paul Rudd did really well, it was very funny without being forced or smug. At times I found the ants cute but at other times I found it a tad gross laugh.gif

Favourite bit was the giant Thomas the Tank Engine and loved the little girl too.

On a very similar par to Guardians of the Galaxy, think I may have preferred this slightly (and enjoyed it a lot more than Ultron).

Oh and it made me crave Baskin Robbins.

Lowest opening numbers for a Marvel film since 2008, oops.

Much as I love Paul Rudd, Ant-Man is just no good as a stand-alone film, he is just a bit shit laugh.gif even in the comics he's kinda dull, especially when with other Avengers.
Most exciting thing about him was the fact he was a founding Aveneger and was a wife beater, although that's all Hank Pym and not Scott Lang.

Really? I'm sure I read it did just above both the first Cap Am & Thor films?

QUOTE
2ND UPDATE, 6:10 PM PT: Ant-Man proved himself a fourmi-dable competitor at the international box office in his debut frame, coming out mightier than Marvel brethren Thor and Captain America: The First Avenger in the same batch of territories. With $55.4M, the Paul Rudd-starrer was the No. 2 studio title in the overseas marketplace, behind the mighty Minions and their $66.1M ($66.2M in the estimates).

I saw it today and I really enjoyed it. It was very much in the same vein of the first in the franchise Marvel films (like Cap 1/Thor 1) as opposed to any of the others, but it was enjoyable. I do think the sequel (if it gets one?) will be a lot better (just like they were for both Cap Am & Thor) now that they have characters established and the main origin of it all is fleshed out a little.

Paul was great and just as charismatic and as endearing as ever. He was a breath of fresh air as a superhero I thought. And I'd say it's a good starting point for those who might want to get into/ease into watching the MCU (even if the subtle references might go over their heads a little, but they're easy to enough to "get" if you haven't seen any of the other films, I'd have thought).

It isn't the best Marvel film, at all. But it's most certainly not the weakest/worst. I'm happy enough with it!
