ITV next Thursday, 5th March, 8.30 to 10pm.

Anyone think anything other than Bohemian Rhapsody will win?

Also a triple CD collection released 2nd March.

I think we can safely assume it won't be the number one in the first few weeks of 1970.

Very surprised that Brown Girl In The Ring is on the album and not Rivers Of Babylon! Each artist only has one track.

Tracklist: http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00TA6L5OK/ref=dm_rogue_cd

especially considering it never made number one. That's ridiculous, cos it was a B side when Rivers Of Babylon topped the charts. As a double A it peaked at 2 some months later. This smacks of trying to rewrite history again! Might as well claim every B side to a chart topper contributed to the sales of the number 1 while on top!

Yet an actual double A side, say Girl's School, gets conveniently forgotten....

And, of course, Girls' School was a better song than Mull Of Kintyre. I bought the single more for the former than the latter.

Yeah totally ridiculous. Bet the compiler's about 25 and wasn't around at the time! Would imagine the entire Top 20 will be somewhere on those 3 cd's and thought Mull Of Kintyre would be in there.

The Nation's Favourite 80's No.1 is in production too. Much more wide open I'd say.

Me Too! - Brown Girl In The Ring only peaked at #2 after Rivers Of Babylon peaked at #1

After Rivers Of Babylon peaked at #1 and then gradually slid down the charts as far as #21 then it was flipped and Brown Girl In The Ring climbed back up to #2

Really glad they're doing this again, hope they do the next four decades after as well. Though as wonderful as it is, is it worth giving Bohemian Rhapsody yet another win in this series?

I can't believe that tracklist doesn't contain Another Brick In The Wall Part 2 as well sad.gif Probably my favourite 70s number 1

I find it hilarious that they chose a song that didn't reach number 1 until january 1980.

Yep, Brass In Pocket, the song that surprised me by being a No.1 as it's nothing special imo.

Few surprises in the run-down - although I thought Dancing Queen might top Bohemian Rhapsody in a 'shock' result.

Surprised that Space Oddity didn't make the 20 though.

Not a bad show but predictable Top 3 really. Surprised that Bridge Over Troubled Water isn't on the triple CD. No surprises that Gary Glitter wasn't mentioned!

According to Amazon, "The Nations Favourite 80s Number Ones" is due for release on 20 July but seeing as 10 July becomes the first Friday to release music worldwide, the album will most likely be released on 17 July

Bit surprised that Two Tribes is on there and not Relax. Also that I Should Be So Luc isn't there.
