I know it's probably up to 2 years away but with the 25 era officially over () let's get the ball rolling with discussing Dame Adele's next world saving collection!



What do we expect from her? I'd really like her to expand out the sound she had going with River Lea and I Miss You out more - easily two of the best songs. Could we even get a HAPPY album?!?! Sweetest Devotion was fab and I think with some more polished instrumentals a happy album could actually work for her. Maybe she will come back and shock everyone with a happy banger? Hopefully there will be less pressure on her this time, now she's proved 21 wasn't just a fluke success for her.

In terms of date PLEASE before 2019 but I can't see it happening I reckon she'll go for a February release date in 2019 like her first two albums, but I hope for Autumn 2018.

As I mentioned in the Pink forum, I'd love Adele to go into songwriting for other artists until the release of her next album. I loved her work wit Sia and Tobias Jesso Jr on Alive and branching out with others for writing might lead to her discovering new producers like she did with 25. It's unrealistic but I can hope I would love a Q4 release as she's more than capable of dominating () and ensuring first week sales. Rant aside something in the lines of Water Under The Bridge would be fab - I think an upbeat lead would really surprise people! #SelfTitledAlbumPlease

If she is releasing... then I doubt she's started writing it yet. I just hope we get another Hello type song with the album getting a Q4 release. Although saying that she may get a bit lost if she released Q4..

Damn it, thought there was a proper annoucement or even a surprise Xmas album when I saw this thread

Speaking of which, I would love it Adele did a Christmas album for next year. It wouldn't be too difficult to record - of course she would want a bunch of originals, but a decent amount of the songs would likely be covers. It'd be a great way to keep her name out + voice out there every year whilst taking a long while to record her studio albums. Plus I'd just love to see the jawdropping sales it'd have and to finally knock Bublé off his Christmas throne!

This thread is about 3 years premature Have to hand it to her though - she always waits the right amount of time between albums and keeps herself out of the limelight in between so there is always a bigger demand when she does return.

Fresh rumours of an imminent "Fastlove" release are circulating as Adele's odds of being Christmas #1 have shortened. The Daily Express have written an "exclusive" article and 'Freedom' (the George Michael documentary that the studio version was recorded for) is due to be repeated on Christmas Day. Very excited to hear the full version, thank God that Kevin didn't win X Factor to ruin her chances!

I think 2019 is a little too early if we are to go by the gap between 21 and 25. Her team might schedule the album release around the 2020 BRIT's/Grammy's rather than chase the pre-Christmas sales. It'll sell big regardless.

Don't care about the sales. She has more than proved herself on that. She has also proved herself as the best singer of the generation. Loads tried and failed to copy and ended up screeching Hope the album is AMAZING full of Sweetest Devotion moments

There was a post on Twitter that said as she has claimed to believe in trilogies that the next three albums will be Adele, Laurie-Blue and Adkins

Im really intrigued as to what sound she will follow on this album. Of her albums for me 25 is her strongest but I do enjoy her first two but 25 just feels so strong for me. What I love of all her albums though is they’re all relatively short in length but they’re no skippable songs on any of her albums quality over quantity.

I do feel this album we may possibly have a featured artist on there though I don’t know what’s making me think this but I feel we may get one this time around.

Seems to me 25 didnt come from the guts like 21

I feel like Adele's lyrics have always been simplistic tbh.

But she's great at conveying the emotion with simplicity. I think that's probably her appeal.

Fans on Twitter are drawing comparisons to 2015 where she walked around with her laptop which she has been doing recently which is straw clutching but would make sense if she has said she is working on new material.

I really hope she’s got a good theme or concept for this album though.

Only four weeks away! Surely that would mean the lead single could be released as soon as next week if this is true. I guess it's possible as 'Hello' was first teased on October 18th and was released the 24th, then the album 4 weeks later, but just seems crazy that it could be so soon!

I reckon for bigger artists it makes more sense to release in Q1/Q2 tbh, they get huge sales early on in the year then a huge Christmas boost just as their sales are beginning to slow. Whereas smaller artists or “only buy as a present” artists benefit a lot more during Q4.

In that case it would be wise for BTS to go first as Adele would sell like crazy in her initial weeks.

There's no way the album is not finished yet. She is probably sitting on it in the hope that the pandemic will be over soon, so she can tour stadiums.

There's a lot of money on the table to be made from this album, hundreds of millions of dollars from ticket & album sales. This album will also be her first for Columbia & Sony. They need to make sure everything is ready for her official return. Heads will roll if mistakes in the campaign happen.

Is she not allowed to do something just because she wants to do something for fun? She’s never done this type of thing before so it’s a new challenge and she probably wanted to focus on it outside of an intensive promo schedule. Not everything is about promo!!

There’s no way an artist like Adele does a split release schedule either given she’s one of the last remaining artists who can sell tonnes of physical copies.

I just want to know why we're getting multiple articles mentioning that Sony are 'believed' to be releasing the album in November when Adele / Sony themselves have yet to directly say anything. Surely at this point they might as well be confirming the rumours if they are true?

Tbf the amount of times Adele has been rumoured to release just before Christmas in the past few years, the papers will eventually be correct!

I assume the papers are just finally picking up on the internet rumour that was doing the rounds about AMC scheduling the Adele concert special on December 10th.

• Insider #2 (from Pulse Music Board): Single: 15/10 | Album: 19/11

The latter also mentioned that the album is titled 30.

Thinking it’s probably more than likely she will as streaming counts for way more than it did back in 2015. But really intrigued at how her single does in pure sales as I think it could be the biggest selling non charity release for a while.

IF Adele releases i want it to be a seperate week to ABBA, Ed Sheeran etc, let all the big releases get their week/s at number 1 as the albums market needs a good sales boost and Abba, Adele and Ed Sheeran are 3 releases that can do that. I miss the days of big album sales or weeks when albums consistently sold 100k plus.

The ABBA album already has over 80k pre-orders in the UK and broke the pre-order record. It'll do big numbers. I wouldn't be surprised if the album ended up selling 500k+ by the end of the year.

Well tbf I don't even follow the charts to know that Abba scraped the top 10 a couple of times! But it can't be that hard with streaming. Look at some of the dross top 10! 80k pre-orders? Well, ok, Abba fans are old. They probably think they have to pre-order in case there is a shortage of Abba cds next after the fuel and supermarket crises. Thry will do around 100k, which is ok for a week, but Godele will show them who's boss.

I mean they had the advert for "Hello" on X-factor 5 days before it was released. There's nothing wrong with a build up. If anything it makes it that much more exciting!

(I've tried Googling this to see if it's something that anyone other than certain people on here is tracking and I see results about Ed Sheeran collaborating with Bryan Adams in 2019, and articles about 'Shape Of You' potentially being in contention to beat the Bryan Adams record, but absolutely nothing about the current run - I'd think because it's not really that notable if it's done with more than one song)

Not feeling it at all, if a boyband and or some female singers previews that you would all be slating it. Really hope for more but sounds very middle of the road average ballad. I will try to reserve any more judgement till Friday.

All artists touch people with their music. Just not always the same ones. I would just argue that the reason Adele and Ed get such big sales is because they know what people want from them, rather than being particularly experimental.
