I'll try and work up the effort to enter this. I'm normally not a big fan of picking songs from such a huge list but I guess 243 is just about manageable.

PM me your votes please!!
edit - ooops I copied Jester!
Sent, that was tough.
PMd you, Gezza
11 voters already! Thanks to all for getting your votes in early.
Voted.
This is a good idea - voted!
Votes just submitted via PM - it was quite tough to whittle down to my top 30 songs but I managed it! Looking forward to seeing the results.
That was nearly impossible to narrow down, so I tried to favor songs that probably won't get many votes from others.
oh very difficult
most difficult bit actually was deciding the top 2, which was miles ahead the rest but very close between them
Voted - will be particularly interested to see how many other votes two of mine end up with!
My email has been sent.
Sent my vote in, look forward to the results
We're now up to 20 voters so thanks everyone so far- 2 weeks left to register your vote!
Up to 23 voters now first post updated with names - 13 days left to vote
9 Days left to vote and we're up to 25 voters so far!
Last week to register your votes, the results will commence next Tuesday!
did you receive my PM?
Yes thanks.
Voted
Voted. This is not my era for number 1s so I wasn't spoilt for choice. I managed to find 35 good songs from that list and got rid of five of them.
Voted!
If you're bored this weekend then why not pick your favourite 30 chart toppers of the 2010's and message me with them! You have until 4pm On Monday 15th February to send your votes to me!
Voted! That was so difficult to narrow down to 30, could easily have voted for about 100!
Voted!
A little over 24 hours left to vote- we have over 30 voters now- yay!
A few hours left to vote peeps. 38 voters so far... let's see if we can get to 40!
Thanks for bumping this as I'd been planning to do this today but had forgotten again until the bump x
Sent - I find it kind of difficult to compare my faves from the first half of the decade to those from the second half for some reason, they just feel very distinct in my mind - the split between the download era and the streaming era I guess!
And we've hit 40 voters! 90 mins left to vote!
VOTING HAS NOW CLOSED- Thanks to all who voted- Will be back with some stats later on.
Here's some stats for you then:
There were 43 voters in the end (full list of voters in first post)
There were 243 songs in the rate
37 of which received no votes from any voter with 2012 collecting more zero rated tracks than any other year!
PLEASE DO NOT REVEAL WHO YOU VOTED FOR OR HOW MANY POINTS YOU GAVE TRACKS UNTIL THE APPEAR
Tomorrow we'll eliminate the first half of the songs that got no votes with some big names in there!
I'm surprised there were as few as 37 songs getting 0 points there were a lot of pretty questionable / entirely forgettable songs on there from the pre-streaming era when it was a lot easier to get to #1.
I expect there's at least one or two songs that no one other than me voted for.
A little surprised 2012 has the most zero rated tracks, sure there are some duds there but some great well deserved number 1s as well.
No 207- ZERO POINTS
2010-2012
Everybody Hurts Helping Haiti
No 1 for 2 weeks in February 2010- recorded the biggest weekly sale of the year at 453,426. The cover of the REM 1993 single was recorded for the Haiti Earthquake disaster of January 2010.
Dirtee Disco Dizzee Rascal
No 1 for 1 week in June 2010- Daniel from One True Voice finally gets himself to No 1 (as a backing singer…)
Shout Shout For England Ft D Rascal/ J Corden
No 1 for 2 weeks in June 2010- Dizzee almost knocked himself off the top (David Guetta jamming himself in the middle of his chart toppers)- So both of Dizzee’s No 1 got no votes….
The Club Is Alive JLS
No 1 for 1 week in July 2010- Panned at the time on Buzzjack- it is rather “generic” but at this point they could do little wrong.
Green Light Roll Deep
No 1 for 1 week in August 2010- Obviously the least preferred Roll Deep No 1
Please Don't Let Me Go Olly Murs
No 1 for 1 week in September 2010- Murs debut attracted no one it seems but he has three more stabs at winning this!
Heroes X Factor Finalists 2010
No 1 for 2 weeks in December 2010- To be honest it was a rule of diminishing returns on these X Factor records even by 2010- all for a good cause though etc
Lazy Song Bruno Mars
No 1 for 1 week in May 2011- Seems we don’t like idleness- Bruno has four other offerings though.
Wishing On A Star X Factor Finalists 2011 Featuring JLS & One Direction
No 1 for 1 week in December 2011- A sneaky way of getting JLS and 1D credited with a No 1? Well it worked though it seems 10 years on we’re unimpressed.
Cannonball Little Mix
No 1 for 1 week in December 2011- Anyone surprised by this? X Factor stars not doing so well on this rate at least- 3 more songs from them to come so it isn’t over.
Wherever You Are Military Wives With Gareth Malone
No 1 for 1 week in December 2011- Nothing, and I mean nothing sold as much in 1 week in the 2010s as this did, a mighty 555k! Now no-one likes it. Fifth charity song to bite the bullet.
Good Feeling Flo Rida
No 1 for 1 week in January 2012- Three chart toppers in the decade (who knew) but this is the one that’s unloved. Was at No 2 before yo-yoing around the top 10 and topping the charts 7 weeks later!
Twilight Cover Drive
No 1 for 1 week in February 2012- No idea what this sounded like until I played it. Then I forgot it instantly- explains why it’s here.
Turn Up The Music Chris Brown
No 1 for 1 week in April 2012- This could be Ne-Yo or Usher in all fairness- not bad if a touch non-descript.
Sing Gary Barlow/ Commonwealth Band/ Military Wives
No 1 for 1 week in June 2012- The Diamond Jubilee- we got an extra Bank Holiday- we celebrated. Military Wives out of the running!
Payphone Maroon 5 Ft Wiz Khalifa
No 1 for 1 week in June 2012- they waited 8 years for a UK no 1 and then you go and do this?
Heatwave Wiley Featuring Ms D
No 1 for 2 weeks in August 2012- Remember when this sold over 100,000 copies in a week and was the biggest song in the land for a fortnight?- me neither.
Candy Robbie Williams
No 1 for 2 weeks in November 2012- Surprised that this got zero votes- his last big hurrah chart wise in all honesty and 8 years after his previous No 1.
He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother Justice Collective
No 1 for 1 week in December 2012- Charity records getting short shrift here on the rate, and a festive No 1 to boot. Shame on you all.
shame no one could fit Good Feeling or Heatwave in their votes (obviously I didn't have room for them but they don't deserve to be completely pointless) - otherwise no big losses here.
not surprised Cannonball got nothing really, it's one of the least faves of the fanbase and even Little Mix themselves have disowned the record.
Out of those I bought both the Olly and Helping Haiti singles on CD at the time! I was reminded of the latter recently and was surprised by how star-studded it was, with the likes of Mariah and Miley taking part I loved 'Please Don't Let Me Go' at the time but don't really ever return to it nowadays, unlike some of Olly's other singles. Little Mix's winning single got no points but Sam Bailey was considered by people? :')
Elsewhere some of those have aged like milk - especially 'Green Light'
I should add these are only the Zero pointers for 2010-12 which account for over half the total of all zero pointers. Zero pointers from 2013-2019 will be posted tomorrow....
Oh sorry I hadn't quite twigged that while multi-tasking with work! Right, okay then, intrigued to see what else has 0 from 2013 onwards
I really enjoyed the two Roll Deep number ones and still don't mind either of them, both would have been in my top 40 if this went that far down but can't say I'm expecting anyone else to have voted for Good Times. None of the others I've ever had any time for
I much prefer 'Good Times' to be fair! That has somehow held up a lot better for me Maybe it's the lack of dodgy road puns in the lyrics lol.
Of those the only ones I think I considered voting for were 'Heatwave' and 'Candy'.
I enjoyed Shout For England for what it was at the time but has it been played even a single time since Germany destroyed us in that World Cup?
I liked both the Roll Deep Number 1s too actually!
No real complaints about the first set of zero pointers there, Payphone at least made my 'considered voting for it' list, I didn't mind Please Don't Let Me Go either and I'm surprised that's got zero.
And whilst both Roll Deep number ones haven't aged particularly well, I'm disappointed that it's Good Times that avoids zero points rather than Green Light, I preferred the latter though don't really revisit either of them much now despite enjoying them at the time.
Green Light has to be one of the most undeserved #1s of all time too, it was very quickly forgotten and furthermore it held off the year's biggest single from reaching #1 in Love the Way You Lie which has held up to this day as one of Eminem's signature songs. It was a very close sales margin it won by iirc as well.
Oh yeah i'd forgotten that 'Green Light' kept LTWYL from #1. As much as I did enjoy the Roll Deep songs at the time, that was definitely the wrong result.
Very surprised to see 'Candy' and 'Please Don't Let Me Go' in that list - arguably not Robbie's or Olly's finest moments but thought they'd have at least picked up a point or two!
'Candy' is the only real surprise there for me, that wasn't far off my votes - was a good last hurrah for Robbie!
A few others there that I do like ('Please Don't Let Me Go', 'Good Feeling', I will even defend 'The Club Is Alive' as objectively terrible but fun xx) but mostly just the expected exodus of dull charity offerings there. Pleased to see 'Twilight' and 'Payphone' both out, they'd rank very highly on my list of worst #1s of the decade.
I was actually surprised to see no love whatsoever for 'Payphone'. I never liked it personally but I thought that was an unpopular opinion.
But yes the endless 'Number 1 by default' of being a charity/X Factor release was the low point of this era.
So, JLS - Love You More got some points from its week at #1 (in which Day 2 was the same as Day 3)?
No great losses for me in those songs going out, many of which probably wouldn't have got near #1 in a streaming / OAOS climate. A little surprised to see The Lazy Song there but it's certainly not Bruno's best.
The Lazy Song and Cannonball deserved better, I nearly voted for the latter
some terrible number 1’s there , the only one that is a surprise is Bruno Mars - Lazy Song !
I have very fond memories of the 2010-2012 period - I think it was quite a confident and carefree time for me in my late 20s but also for chart music it was really the golden age of the download. I don’t think there’s ever been another period where the singles market has been so healthy but also where the chart has been so democratic and free of record company or chart rule interference.
That said it really did throw up some stinking chart toppers! I don’t think any of the ones that have gone out even made my long list for scoring points, though I did download a few of them at the time including The Lazy Song, Candy, Green Light and Sing.
No losses there at all tbh. Delighted that Payphone got zero!!!
Some utter drivel in there, especially The Club Is Alive! Also some real non-events of Number 1s. I thought the likes of Twighlight and Roll Deep might have been typos on the original list, had no memory of them existing , though it seems Roll Deep are quite popular on here
NO 207 (Cont'd)- ZERO POINTS
2013-19
Let's Get Ready To Rhumble PJ & Duncan
No 1 for 1 week in April 2013- Seems you don’t want to walk memory lane with this one- here after they performed it live on “Saturday Night Takeaway”
The Monster Eminem Featuring Rihanna
No 1 for 1 week in November 2013- 8 No 1’s between them in the 2010s but you clearly don’t like this one much!
Skyscraper Sam Bailey
No 1 for 1 week in December 2013- Another X Factor winning single bites the bullet
The Man Aloe Blacc
No 1 for 1 week in April 2014- An uncredited vocal on Avicii’s “Wake Me Up” probably helped him to No 1.
Stay With Me Sam Smith
No 1 for 1 week in May 2014- They’ve got 7 chart toppers so they won’t be too worried to lose one at this stage!
Wake Me Up Gareth Malone's All Star Choir
No 1 for 1 week- November 2014- Another charity chart topper gets the boot but then we have Avicii’s original in the rate so you know….
Something I Need Ben Haenow
No 1 for 1 week in December 2014- More X Factor misery as this leaves- Matt Cardle and James Arthur are the only winning X Factor debut releases to get points!
Lay Me Down Sam Smith Featuring John Legend
No 1 for 2 weeks in March 2015- The Sam Smith cull continues- this was for Comic Relief-
Marvin Gaye Charlie Puth Featuring Meghan Trainor
No 1 for 1 week in August 2015- You do not want to “get it on” with this track- both have other offerings so fingers crossed!
A Bridge Over You Lewisham & Greenwich NHS Choir
No 1 for 1 week in December 2015- Justin Bieber pleaded to us to buy this and then you give it zero points…..
Say You Won't Let Go James Arthur
No 1 for 3 weeks in October 2016- So just to upset the trend you give his X factor winning track points but not this one. Poor James.
Bridge Over Troubled Water Artists For Grenfell
No 1 for 1 week in June 2017- Charity record- tick, out you go!
These Days Rudimental Featuring Jess Glynne, Macklemore & Dan Caplen
No 1 for 1 week in April 2018- 8 weeks at No 2 so I suppose it can be thankful for making No 1 at all. Rudimental have two other tracks left but can this really be the only Jess Glynne record to leave on zero points?
Eastside Benny Blanco, Halsey & Khalid
No 1 for 1 week in September 2018- no love for this one which only made No 1 by 139 “chart sales”
We Built This City Ladbaby
No 1 for 1 week in December 2018- another charity casualty- seems we don’t like sausage rolls as much as three Christmas No 1’s might suggest.
Beautiful People Ed Sheeran Featuring Khalid
No 1 for 1 week in July 2019- So both Khalid chart toppers are pointless and gone!
Take Me Back To London Ed Sheeran Featuring Stormzy
No 1 for 5 weeks in September 2019- Another Ed Sheeran elimination- good job he’s got another 6 in the running.
River Ellie Goulding
No 1 for 1 week in December 2019- Buzzjack gets its revenge on Alexa……
Obviously expected the novelty/charity records but I'm shocked to see 'Let's Get Ready To Rhumble', 'The Monster' and 'Say You Won't Let Go' on zero points
Very surprised that nobody voted for 'The Monster'.
Otherwise a load of old tosh and charidee records. PJ & Duncan is a guilty pleasure though.
Most of those are deserved but I do quite like 'The Monster'. It was actually a #1 in my chart at the time but hasn't held up super well, hence not even including it in my votes. Still good though, if overshadowed by 'Rap God', which definitely remains my favourite of that era.
Marvin Gaye literally just missed my votes 😭
These Days leaving on nothing is a shame, I came close to giving that one points.
River I enjoy a lot as a Christmas record, but wasn't in consideration for points from me.
the monster on 0 is a shock
'Say You Won't Let Go' was one of the last songs I cut from my list, aww. Also like both of the Ed Sheeran songs (they're not quite my faves from his #1s but they didn't deserve to get 0 if 'River' and 'I Don't Care' managed to avoid that fate...!) and 'Let's Get Ready To Rhumble' was obviously an iconic moment for the charts as well xx
I am surprised at Dan not voting for 'These Days' - more than happy to see that one going though of course. Lol bai to 'The Man' (this is really one of the more inexplicable #1s in recent history), 'Stay With Me' and 'Marvin Gaye' as well.
It's a shame both the tracks that Khalid featured on got zero points but I can't say I actually like either of them. If only something from the American Teen album had made #1!
Quite a few shocks in the second nul points list as others have mentioned - for me particularly Eastside which I think was a unique track and These Days which would have been around my 32nd choice!
Looks like Say You Won't Let Go and Take Me Back To London were the only songs not to go through which spent more than 2 weeks at #1.
Surprised at a lot of these getting zero points tbh! I guess only having 30 votes and probably a lot of those concentrating on some of the same songs makes it hard to make space.
(also more fuel to the idea that Say You Won't Let Go's permanent Spotify presence is just some botnet and nobody actually cares about it)
204- 1 POINT
I Love Sausage Rolls Ladbaby (Voter: Sevenseize)
No 1 for 1 week in December 2019- So both Ladbaby’s chart toppers managed to attract 1 vote between them!
7 Years Lukas Graham (Voter: donnahjaneymack)
No 1 for 5 weeks in February/March 2016- I always think the cover is a bit creepy…maybe just me.
Love You More JLS (Voter: Gezza)
No 1 for 1 week in November 2010- even with iconic lyrics and my support the rest of you were unimpressed. But it is for charity and we know how you feel about that….
7 years even getting as much as 1 point is offensive
Oh Seven x
With Ladbaby out, I think that's all the songs which made huge nosedives from #1 gone - only Senorita is left that fell from #1 to outside the Top 10, and that was an ACR-induced 1-11.
I thought I may have voted for The Monster but maybe it just missed out!
Haaaa at Marvin Gaye, Stay With Me & These Days getting nothing *.
I am rather surprised 7 Years is that low actually, Pete not voting in this clearly
The fact that there is still one of the Ladbaby songs in the running is the most shocking thing here!
I need to wear my glasses more often!
No 200- 2 POINTS
I Don't Care Ed Sheeran & Justin Bieber (Voter: Among Haus)
No 1 for 8 weeks in May to July 2019- Neither it seems did we but both acts have multiple offerings left to come.
Writing's On The Wall Sam Smith (Voter: Sid)
No 1 for 1 week in October 2016- the first Bond No 1 but this is their third track to exit the rate
Do They Know It's Christmas 2014 Band Aid 30 (Voter: rio309)
No 1 for 1 week in November 2014- At least they changed the lyrics this time- but without the Dizzee Rascal rap it was never going to catch on….
Don't Go Wretch 32 Featuring Josh Kumra (Voter: JulianT)
No 1 for 1 week in August 2011- Oops too late it’s gone!
Wretch 32 is the best out of those, although he had better hits, I wish 'Traktor' had been his #1 instead.
Don't Go was decent, glad it had a couple of points at least!
Yes, Don't Go was better than a lot of the dross that made #1 in 2011 (much of which is still to come).
Have to go with the crowd on this one, 'Don't Go' is easily the best of those.
^ omg how could I forget '6 Words', that's actually my favourite of his singles - I retract my earlier post, that's the one that should have been his #1! ('Blackout' was indeed great as well and I also really liked 'Unorthodox' at the time though it hasn't aged as well as the others mentioned here).
NO 199- 3 POINTS
No Regrets Dappy (Voter: coi)
No 1 for 1 week in October 2011- Dappy goes solo- for 3 points
NO 196- 4 POINTS
Sing Ed Sheeran (Voter: Garyfeld)
No 1 for 1 week in June 2014- Sheeran’s first No 1 but he isn’t fairing too well in this rate with a fourth chart topper exiting the running- still he has 4 left in!
Don't Wanna Go Home Jason Derulo (Voter: Sid)
No 1 for 2 weeks in July 2011- Our least popular Derulo chart topper- how can that be when “Talk Dirty” exists?
Nothin' On You B.o.B Ft Bruno Mars (Voter: Chrissmith276)
No 1 for 1 week in May 2010- B.o.B’s first chart topper leaves us here and it’s another Bruno Mars exit- he has 3 left
I like DWGH !!
THAT key change *.*
Ed's first ever #1 deserved better than to go out before I Don't Care.
Arguably, appropriating The Banana Boat Song to a backing of Robin S - Show Me Love was even more of a gimmick than hopping on a TikTok.
Both B.o.B.'s #1s were OK, but I think the better one is still to come.
'Sing' was a personal chart #1 for me at the time but didn't hold up well enough to make it into my votes. Quite like the early JT influence of that one.
B.o.B. and Bruno both had better to come.
Sing could have done with another verse IMO
'No Regrets' is way better than it has any right to be lmao
'Sing' and 'Nothin' On You' are both good (I'll be different and say the latter is better than 'Airplanes' x) though fell a bit short of my votes, don't think either of them have necessarily aged amazingly. 'Don't Wanna Go Home' is definitely the worst of Derulo's #1s for me.
NO 195- 7 POINTS
Dance With Me Tonight Olly Murs (Voter: donnahjaneymack)
No 1 for 1 week in December 2011- Half of Olly’s tracks have now gone
NO 193- 8 POINTS
Easy Love Sigala (Voter: Chez Wombat)
No 1 for 1 week in September 2015- A splash of Jackson 5 saw this head to the top
The Time (Dirty Bit) The Black Eyed Peas (Voter: Sid)
No 1 for 1 week in December 2010- Yeah the creative barrel was being scraped by this time for them
Yay for those three being out fairly early on, not at all surprised by the early exit for BEP (none of their 2010-11 material even came close to matching the quality of their 2009 output!) but thought the other two would do a bit better.
That BEP track is abysmal !
Of the four, the best two Olly Murs tracks are the ones still in the competition.
Dirty Bit is the worst thing the BEP produced! Barrel well and truly scraped.
Surprised that 'The Time (Dirty Bit)' wasn't a 0 pointer (it's in the same camp as 'The Club Is Alive' for me, it's definitely not good but I can kind of enjoy it purely for its ridiculousness).
Most of Sigala's subsequent hits have been garbage but I did enjoy the first two, 'Dance With Me Tonight' is a tune as well.
aww Easy Love is still a lovely little tune, always brightens my day when it comes up x
Dance With Me Tonight is SO good, only just missed my votes and deserved better here
'Easy Love' and 'The Time (Dirty Bit)' good riddance!
I do like 'Dance With Me Tonight' however Olly still has better to come.
Really enjoying following the results!
So it seems I'm the sole voter for Dance With Me Tonight - a real catchy song by Olly and so hard to believe it will be 10 years old this year! I bought it at the time. I loved it and I had such a big crush on Olly (still do!)
Quite surprised that "Good Feeling" by Flo Rida got no points - I still hear it quite a lot on the radio every now and then, and I heard it the other night on one of those "classic dance anthem" shows.
Looking forward to the countdown progressing and seeing who makes the number 1 position (and whether it was my 30-pointer song!)
NO 191- 9 POINTS
Cheerleader Omi (Voter: Jimwatts)
No 1 for 4 weeks in May 2015- Showing how a remix can make all the difference
Not Letting Go Tinie Tempah Featuring Jess Glynne (Voter: Alby)
No 1 for 1 week in July 2015- First loss for Tinie and a second for Glynne- however 11 left in the rate for the pair combined.
NO 190- 10 POINTS
Swagger Jagger Cher Lloyd (Voter: Ultra’s Version)
No 1 for 1 week in August 2011- Very much of its moment- Lloyd is apparently not too keen on it these days and therefore joins the rest of us!
'Swagger Jagger' falls into the hilariously bad category I think. An abysmal record at the time but entertaining to look back and cringe at now. I'm not surprised she wants to forget about it considering she actually went on to release a decent single after this.
With Ur Love (the follow up) is actually pretty decent - I’ll always wonder what would have happened if Paige Richardson went through instead of Cher - I thought he was a more talented singer.
Yeah With Ur Love is the one I was thinking of.
OK, I would never have predicted Cheerleader to be my first nomination out! Nor before Swagger Jagger
Not Swagger Jagger beating Cheerleader
Cheerleader was decent, would have been in my votes if it was like a top 75 or something.
Swagger Jagger, a classic
Unsurprisingly that's the first of my votes to go and I'm the only voter I probs gave it a few more points than I would've as I knew no one else would stan with me but I honestly love that song so much, its so iconic and messy, the verses are iconic and the chorus is acc good, we love to see it
Quite like 'Cheerleader' and 'Not Letting Go' - especially as they bring back happy memories of of summer 2015. 'Swagger Jagger' though...
'Cheerleader' was a decent enough song but not really one I am desperate to hear again any time soon.
'Swagger Jagger' is another one in the same boat as 'The Club Is Alive' and 'The Time (Dirty Bit)' - what a time it was to be alive when such songs could get to #1 x
I haven't lost any of my votes yet - looking back at them there is one song from my 1-10 points section that I am a little surprised someone other than me voted for. Assuming we'll be getting the 12 pointers tomorrow that one is probably the next most likely of my votes to have been only me, otherwise I may have got away with not being the sole voter for anyone!
Quite like Cheerleader although it's always really grated with me that the emphasis is on the last syllable of the word "Cheerleader" instead of the first two!
NO 187- 11 POINTS
One Way Or Another (Teenage Kicks) One Direction (Voters: JosephStyles- 10 points, Marcinjaro- 1 point)
No 1 for 1 week in March 2013- Two down and three to go for ID
Loca People Sak Noel (Voters: JackJones- 5 points, Danuary- 6 points)
No 1 for 1 week in October 2011- A number one by just over 2k (poor “Moves Like Jagger”) this becomes one of the first tracks to get votes from multiple people!
California Gurls Katy Perry Ft Snoop Dogg (Voter: Ultra’s Version)
No 1 for 2 weeks in July 2010- I thought this one would do rather well, how wrong I was!
Loca People is the best out of those three easily! Didn't quite make my votes but wasn't too far off.
I am shocked I was the only voter for Cali Gurls! 😮 Deserved way better, one of Katy’s best and such a perfect pop bop ❤️
That version of One way is pish !!
I've never been a huge fan of California Gurls, she's done so much better. I'm surprised to see it finish so low though!
I almost voted for Cali Gurls and Loca People, both great tracks.
2 more songs there that I'd rank among the worst #1s of the decade ~ ('Loca People' is good tho)
I find 'Loca People' distinctly average, didn't deserve to beat 'Moves Like Jagger' imo.
LOL remember when 1D decided to piss all over two classic tracks in one go!
'Loca People' is really nostalgic for me as they were playing it a lot in Spain during my summer that year, before it was released here! Still not lost any votes though x
NO 186- 12 POINTS
Freaky Friday Lil Dicky Featuring Chris Brown (Voter: Mack- 8 points, Riser- 4 points)
No 1 for 1 week in April 2018- Chris Brown loses his last track in the rate, seems like not many of us want to wake up in Chris Brown’s body…..
NO 183- 13 POINTS
Part Of Me Katy Perry (Voter: Josephstyles- 1 point, AaronTM- 12 points)
No 1 for 1 week in March 2012- Another Katy elimination- 2 to go!
R.I.P Rita Ora Ft Tinie Tempah (Voter: Dot branning- 1 point, Brokenrecords- 2 points, Chrissmith276- 10 points)
No 1 for 2 weeks in May 2012- They’ve got 8 tracks left combined so don’t feel too sorry for them- the first track to get points from 3 voters though!
Little Things One Direction (Voter: JosephStyles)
No 1 for 1 week in November 2012- 1D thank Joseph for the points he threw at them during the rate- they only have 2 tracks left though!
Ooh someone else did vote for my 12 pointer as well then!
'Little Things' remains 1D's best song xx I loved 'R.I.P.' at the time but can't say it's one that I think has aged too well.
I have no time for 'Little Things', I find it so bland compared to their other singles. It's probably my second least favourite 1D single after the early career low that was 'Gotta Be You'!
That 13 points section are 3 songs I really like (Part Of Me & Little Things are v. underrated) but I don't go back to any of them too much nowadays and all just missed my votes!
No losses in those three either, Little Things was one of 1D's worst.
I'm pleased to see I haven't lost any of my votes so far.
Glad I wasn't the only voter for R.I.P (my first loss), Rita and Tinie work well together here.
Other than that no losses, I thought 'Part Of Me' was one of Katy's weakest and 'Little Things' a bland nothing, if it wasn't for the Blondie cover I would say it was their worst.
I didn’t vote in this poll but absolutely love ‘Dance with me Tonight’ and ‘Part of Me’ and probably would have given both points. Monster’ was expecting higher up as well. No tears at the others being so low.
NO 181- 15 POINTS
See You Again Wiz Khalifa Featuring Charlie Puth (Voter: Mack)
No 1 for 2 weeks in April/May 2015- Goodbye to both acts then who we won’t be seeing again….
Me And My Broken Heart Rixton (Voter: Dot Branning)
No 1 for 1 week in July 2014- Shane Richie’s son- that’s the most memorable thing about this lot…
NO 179- 17 POINTS
This Ain't A Love Song Scouting For Girls (Voter: Dot Branning)
No 1 for 2 weeks in April 2010- This is indeed goodbye…
When We Collide Matt Cardle (Voter: Stonedragon)
No 1 for 3 weeks in December 2010/ January 2011- Well at least it got some points!
A bunch of fairly bland songs overall. Never understood why See You Again was so huge. When We Collide is an inoffensive cover and This Ain't A Love Song is pleasant enough, but no great losses.
Dance With Me Tonight is the only song that's been revealed recently that I'm even close to liking, though a couple I have no recollection (Rixton) or don't recognise (Chris Brown), which TBF was quite common for 2016 onwards...
Looking at my votes to see what might be the first of them to appear, there are a couple that might appear relatively soon but I'm hopeful the rest will have been picked by a few people.
That Rixton song was great at the time but hasn't really stood up over the years. Same with Scouting For Girls, although I do remember being really shocked when that went to number one!
It’s amazing that Rixton had a #1 but The Vamps never did.
Some better songs there, I don't dislike any of them but don't go back to them that much either.
I remember being shocked by both Rixton and SFG reaching #1.
The less said about X Factor's use / interpretation of one of my favourite songs, the better!
Matt Cardle's is one of the better XF winning singles, he has a good voice and it was a relatively inspired song choice. Doesn't beat the Biffy version of course but it's fine in its own right.
Scouting For Girls had some good songs from their first album but they went rapidly downhill after that, 'This Ain't A Love Song' was pretty naff and does not deserve to be their one #1 hit. Was very underwhelming to see it debuting higher than Plan B's 'She Said' at the time (although of course that wouldn't have been #1 regardless since it ended up peaking at #3).
Lol at Rixton. To this day they are inseparable from Lawson in my memory.
I'd honestly forgotten I ranked Rixton so highly but yeah I did love that song back in 2014 so i'll stand by it. I'm a bit more surprised that 'This Ain't A Love Song' doesn't get any other love though, admittedly not the most remembered #1 hit but I seem to remember it been very popular at the time.
I've also realised I haven't got my votes saved anywhere and neither has the PM I sent, so i'm sort of looking forward to been reminded what I actually voted for as well as what everyone else did.
Rixton this sampled Rob Thomas's 'Lonely No More' didn't it?
'See You Again' well people on here know my taste in music.
‘See you Again’ is so mediocre and generic it’s untrue. At least we only put it at no.1 for 2 weeks but in the USA it was no.1 for 12 weeks. Both Wiz and Puth have done far better solo hits.
I'm really surprised that only one of my votes has dropped out so far, there are definitely one or two others I wasn't expecting anyone else to give that many points to!
No Drake yet...
NO 178- 18 POINTS
I Don't Care Cheryl (Voter: Josephstyles)
No 1 for 1 week in November 2014- Cheryl gets sweary- only Joseph is impressed!
NO 174- 19 POINTS
Money On My Mind Sam Smith (Voter: Riser)
No 1 for 1 week in March 2014- 4 entries down for Sam and three to go!
How We Do (Party) Rita Ora (Voter: JosephStyles- 6 points, Ultra’s Version- 2 points, Brokenrecords- 11 points)
No 1 for 1 week in August 2012- Rita is fast running out of entries here- only two left!
Dynamite Taio Cruz (Voter: Dot Branning- 18 points, Rabbitfurcoat- 1 point)
No 1 for 1 week in September 2010- Benny Blanco & Dr Luke produce and co-write this one which was Taio’s only chart topper of the decade.
Start Without You Alexandra Burke (Voter: Vibe)
No 1 for 2 weeks in September 2010- Vibe is the only voter for this Alexandra Burke track which was co-written by RedOne.
Dynamite was such a step down from Break Your Heart
I am living for the entirely justified rejection from everyone else of some of these awful songs Joseph voted for x ('Start Without You' is also atrocious).
'Money On My Mind' is one of Sam's better #1s - sadly as their music has got better they seem to have stopped being able to hit #1, boo. The other two there are both ok but heavily dated.
Dynamite is a tune and came close to my points.
Money On My Mind is decent.
Not keen on the others.
I was wondering how Start Without You had got this far, makes sense that it was only one voter getting it there!
Dynamite is the best of those five by far, Money On My Mind was good too.
Eek no love for any of those songs except 'Dynamite' of course which I voted for.
Christ that Cheryl song was awful and i've always been a bit baffled as to how the easily forgettable 'Start Without You' spent two weeks at #1, when 'Broken Heels' could only make #8.
NO 172- 20 POINTS
Perfect Ed Sheeran (Voters: Rio309- 4 points, JimWatts- 13 points, Donnahjaneymack- 3 points)
No 1 for 6 weeks in December 2017/ January 2018- Perhaps its ongoing presence in the chart hasn’t done it favours here? Three out of eight left for him!
Lovers On The Sun David Guetta Featuring Sam Martin (Voters: Dot Branning- 10 points, JackJones- 10 points)
No 1 for 1 week in August 2014- First loss for Guetta who has three left in the rate.
NO 170- 21 POINTS
She Makes Me Wanna JLS Featuring Dev (Voters: JosephStyles- 9 points, JackJones- 12 points)
No 1 for 1 week in August 2011- Well this is our favourite JLS No 1 it appears (apart from “Beat Again” naturally…..)
All About Tonight Pixie Lott (Voters: Jason- 13 points, NickF1- 8 points)
No 1 for 1 week in September 2011- Pixie bows out of the rate with this one- her only chart topper of the decade.
All About Tonight is still my fave Pixie Lott song. The video is so iconic.
Joseph voting for the actual JLS.
Perfect is not perfect. Sorry, not sorry.
Lovers On The Sun is the best of those four and it's finished about where I was expecting it, was a fan of that at the time but not as much now. All About Tonight is fine too, Perfect was nice for a bit then got extremely tedious to listen to after a while, and She Makes Me Wanna was bad at the time and has aged even worse.
It’s Sheeran’s Southerner’s pronunciation of “graass” in Perfect that really irks me
NO 169- 22 POINTS
I'm The One DJ Khaled Featuring Justin Bieber, Chance The Rapper & Lil Wayne (Voter: Mack)
No 1 for 1 week in May 2017- Bieber loses his second entry but has 5 left whilst it’s the first of two entries for DJ Khaled.
NO 168- 24 POINTS
Too Good At Goodbyes Sam Smith (Voters: Alby- 15 points, Riser- 9 points)
No 1 for 3 weeks in September/October 2017- Sam loses another entry and now has just two features left in this rate!
NO 167- 25 POINTS
Replay Iyaz (Voters: SevenSeize- 3 points, Dot Branning- 22 points)
No 1 for 2 weeks in January 2010- right back to the first No 1 of the decade here!
Replay was close to making it into my votes! I'm The One being DJ Khaled's lowest is the right result, it was a lot worse than his other number one.
'Lovers On The Sun' was probably Guetta's last properly great song.
'All About Tonight' is a pretty decent too for a basic pop song.
'Replay' is very much of its time, nice enough to listen to back then but you wouldn't really go back to it now.
DJ Khaled can keep his irritating borefest. We the best music? More like we the most annoying music.
'She Makes Me Wanna' is the second best of JLS' #1s after 'Beat Again' so woo ~
'I'm The One' and 'Replay' are both pretty good. 'Too Good At Goodbyes' is not.
Still yet to have any of my votes drop out!
Replay was the last song I crossed off my list. It’s pretty basic but a fab melody.
“Replay” - referencing the I-pod in the chorus haha
NO 166- 26 POINTS
This Is Love Will.i.am Ft Eva Simons (Voter: King Rollo- 23 points, NickF1- 3 points)
No 1 for 1 week in July 2012- How has Will.i.am escaped thus far? Well that’s been rectified- he has 4 left.
NO 164- 27 POINTS
Crazy Stupid Love Cheryl Cole Featuring Tinie Tempah (Voter: JosephStyles- 22 points, Ready for it- 5 points)
No 1 for 1 week in August 2014- Cheryl now only has two entries left and Tinie is down to a mere 4 songs left
Let Me Love You (Until You Learn To Love Yourself) Ne-Yo (Voter: JulianT- 5 points, AH Gold- 22 points)
No 1 for 1 week in September 2012- Ne-Yo’s first loss on the rate is with this Sia co-penned chart topper.
This Is Love is the first of mine to go out.
I know Let Me Love You is hardly ground-breaking but I just think it's a really well put together record with nice lyrics and a catchy tune.
So close to this being another subpar Cheryl #1 getting points only from Joseph xx
Quite like the will.i.am and Ne-Yo songs though not heard either of them for quite a while.
None of Cheryl’s #1s apart from Fight for This Love (which is 2000s) have any merit IMO, sorry!
'Let Me Love You' is actually one of my least favourite Ne-Yo tracks tbh. I don't mind 'This Is Love' but it's never stood out as anything special to me.
Cheryl's 2014 Number 1s are both god awful, no wonder that was the end of her success.
I do quite like “Under the Sun” from her though but that charted at about #19 I think
I haven't heard any of those three for some time now, Crazy Stupid Love was definitely one of Cheryl's worse chart toppers, Call My Name was good though!
None of my votes have dropped out yet! I do have a bit of a soft spot for 'Replay' though.
We'll do a recap at 150ish of what's left and how many tracks each voter still has left in the rate.
That's a good idea! It'll be interesting to see if there are any songs that someone had as their favourite of the decade but no one else voted for, we might reach that stage pretty soon if we get up to the songs with 30 points.
NO 161- 28 POINTS
I Wanna Feel Secondcity (Voter: Danuary- 4 points, Jester- 24 points)
No 1 for 1 week in June 2014- I never realised (or I forgot) that Daniel Bedingfield co-wrote this and sings the male vocal parts. Female lyrics courtesy of Toni Braxton’s “You’re Making Me High”.
Burn Ellie Goulding (Voters: King Rollo- 3 points, Mango- 25 points)
No 1 for 3 weeks in August/ September 2013- Ellie’s second loss on the rate leaving her with just one song to feature- Would Leona have done better?
Read All About It Professor Green Featuring Emeli Sande (Bjork- 4 points, Mango- 24 points)
No 1 for 2 weeks in November 2011- Managing a run at the top in between spells at the top for “We Found Love”- seems you don’t like it as much though….
Two of mine out together 'Burn' might be a little basic but it's still my favourite thing Ellie's done. Although it really hasn't stood the test of time if only two people voted for it!
As for 'Read All About It', I was pretty obsessed with Pro Green for those first two albums and still go back to them - I can't quite believe it's been 10 years though!
Three decent songs there, none of them were particularly close to getting in my top 30 but good songs nonetheless, I certainly prefer the Pro Green version of Read All About It to the one with just Emeli.
Ellie Goulding can’t sing
Rare to have a trio of songs I actually know and don't mind.
It would be nice to get to the recap without losing any, I've only lost my 30th placed song (Dynamite) so far, and I'd expect 28 of the others to get in, but one I've been thinking will be revealed soon for a few days now!
My first one out - adore I Wanna Feel! I never knew about the Bedingfield lyrics
'Burn' marked a point where I started losing interest in Ellie she's had some good moments since then but way less consistently.
'I Wanna Feel' is a good'un didn't fit that into my votes but I have managed to include some of the 2014 dance invasion.
Meh to those last three. In fact I actually find 'I Wanna Feel' one of the lowlights of all the 2014 dance music.
Personally I think Ellie Goulding's earliest stuff was her best i.e. Starry Eyed, Lights... even by 2013 there's nothing that really stands out to me among her music.
NO 158- 29 POINTS
Vossi Pop Stormzy (Voters: Dircadirca- 27 points, Mack- 2 points)
No 1 for 2 weeks in May 2019- Finishing with a facial apparently- here’s Stormzy exiting the rate.
Fight Song Rachel Platten (Voters: Ultra’s Version- 24 points, King Rollo- 1 point, AaronTM- 4 points)
No 1 for 1 week in September 2015- Down and out for Platten.
It's My Birthday Will.i.am Featuring Cody Wise (Voter: Riser)
No 1 for 1 week in July 2014- Another Will.i.am song leaves the rate- he has 3 left- I can also reveal that this is the highest placed No 1 on the list to only get votes from 1 person- so your 30 pointers are safe….for a few days anyway.
Still not lost anything yet!
'Vossi Bop' is my favourite from that batch. Never been keen on 'Fight Song' (feels surreal to remember that was a #1) and most solo will.i.am stuff hasn't aged brilliantly.
Didn't enjoy any of those three really so I'm happy to see them leaving at this point.
So close to getting a clean sheet all up to top marks, didn't think Stormzy would be the one to break it
I actively dislike 'Fight Song', waste of a #1 imo.
Vossi Bop probably holds up the best out of those three but Stormzy has made better.
Still haven’t lost any votes yet either, god my tastes are so generique.
Yeah 'Fight Song' doesn't even sound like a number one when you listen to it now.
I do quite like 'It's My Birthday' but it sounds very of its time.
Not a fan of 'Vossi Bop' at all, I prefer most of Stormzy's other singles.
Cody Wise
So Don’t Go was the only song I saved from nul points - think I stand by that. Rudimental’s These Days is the other that I might have given a point had I known nobody else would.
Surprised no Drake at all has appeared to this point!
The lyrics “f*ck the Government AND f*ck Boris” from Vossi Bop dates is now as it was from the period that Johnson wasn’t part of the Government.
Gosh, 'It's My Birthday' was truly horrendous.
I forgot that I gave that many points to It's My Birthday I'll stand by it though, still a fave of mine!
NO 155- 30 POINTS
Turn The Music Louder (Rumble) KDA Featuring Tinie Tempah & Katy B (Voters: Dircadirca- 20 points, coi- 4 points, Brokenrecords- 6 points)
No 1 for 1 week in October 2015- Another Tinie exit but incredibly he has another 3 entries left here.
Good Times Roll Deep (Voters: Jade- 24 points, Rabbitfurcoat- 6 points)
No 1 for 3 weeks in May 2010- Jade’s first loss and off course Roll Deep are now out of the running!
Beautiful Monster Ne-Yo (Voters: Dot Branning- 23 points, Riser- 7 points)
No 1 for 1 week in August 2010- Ne-Yo’s penultimate track leaves us here.
Finally one of my votes drops out and it's a big one no regrets, very of its time but it always puts me in a good mood
Ah that's a shame, I actually like all three of those. Roll Deep is the most of its time but like 'Replay' the nostalgia value is strong here.
Naturally since it actually got my votes 'Beautiful Monster' is my favourite of the three.
Three good songs in there!
And indeed the second of my votes heads out, but again it was fairly low down and the only two I've lost were my +4 and +3 Rumble was already a great dance tune even before Tinie Tempah and Katy B added their vocals to it, the finished product was even better and I'm still amazed to this day that it managed to beat One Direction to the top! One of the last big successes for held-back releases.
Good Times and Beautiful Monster are both quite forgotten now and understandably so considering their sound but still decent tunes as well!
All of my votes are still in, I'm very curious to find out who else gave my 12 pointer at least 19 more points as I was sure that would be out by now if not only getting points from me...!
The KDA and Roll Deep songs are good but both very of their time, I would not have called Jade giving 24 points to the latter *_*
I never really got into Good Times but I like the other two. All good retro memories!
I don't think I've lost anything from my points as yet so it's going well so far...
NO 154- 32 POINTS
What About Us? The Saturdays Featuring Sean Paul (Voters:Among Haus- 11 points, JosephStyles- 21 points)
No 1 for 1 week in March 2013- How fickle we are, once Buzzjack was awash with stans for the Saturdays but those days appear over…Sean Paul at least has one entry left.
NO 152- 33 POINTS
Hold My Hand Jess Glynne (Voters: Sid- 29 points, donnahjaneymack- 4 points)
No 1 for 3 weeks in April 2015- Rather surprisingly this is the next Glynne to exit the rate- maybe reminding us of booking holidays in a lockdown hasn’t helped it?
Promise This Cheryl Cole (Voters: Ultra’s Version- 13 points, Leonardo- 20 points)
No 1 for 1 week in November 2010- Back when she was the “nation’s sweetheart” and got promo every week on the “X Factor”- this is Buzzjack’s second favourite Cheryl chart topper of the 2010s.
Promise This & Fight Song <3 <3 Losing 2 more of my votes that were high up Promise This is SO good and underrated, such a bop. And Fight Song is stunning and one of my fave UK #1's of the decade, I was so shook when it ended up being a 1 hit here <3 How We Do deserved better too! (I just realised how long its been since I commented oops). Replay/Crazy Stupid Love/Read All About It/Burn are all really good too, RAAI in particular has held up well but none of those 4 made my votes!
What About Us is a bop but wasn't close to my votes. Good Times has aged terribly (and ew Wiley) & I used to love Hold My Hand but Jet2 has made me permanently hate that song to the point it hurts whenever I hear it again The rest I never really cared much for
'Hold My Hand' was very close to making my votes, possibly my favourite song to drop out so far! I do like 'What About Us' too, and I guess 'Promise This' is better than the other Cheryl songs that dropped out so far in that it's only mediocre rather than terrible (I like 'Call My Name' though so it's not all hatred for her )
What About Us and Hold My Hand were OK, got very bored of the latter due to overplay (and indeed the adverts!), was never a fan of Promise This though. Call My Name (and FFTL to an extent from the previous decade) aside I preferred her songs that missed the top spot!
Recap will be tomorrow as we get into the top 150!
Apologies if I’m repeating something others have said (I just don’t want to trawl through pages) but is this the first time that a Top 10 has remained unchanged for 3 weeks or more? I know that the positions have changed, but the songs inside the Top 10 have not.
Stuck on the tarmac at Manchester Airport for 45 minutes with that Jess Glynne song playing on loop. Safe to say I never want to hear it again.
Promise This definitely deserves to be higher than those awful #1's she churned out in 2014.
I can also reveal that only 4 voters will reach the top 150 with all 30 of their tracks still in the rate........
NO 148- 34 POINTS
Senorita Shawn Mendes & Camila Cabello (Voters: JosephStyles- 16 points, Leonardo- 8 points, donnahjaneymack- 10 points)
No 1 for 6 weeks in July/August 2019- Both have one entry left but this is the longest running chart topper to exit the rate so far!
Hot Right Now DJ Fresh Featuring Rita Ora (Voters: Leonardo- 19 points, n4yr- 2 points, vibe- 13 points)
No 1 for 1 week in February 2012- both have just one track left to come
Impossible James Arthur (Voters: Stonedragon- 24 points, Leonardo- 6 points, Jason- 4 points)
No 1 for 3 weeks in December 2012/ January 2013- Buzzjack’s favourite X Factor winning No 1 of the 2010s- that’s an achievement of some sort I suppose!
Stay Awake Example (Voters: Bre- 8 points, coi- 24 points, Jason- 2 points)
No 1 for 1 week in September 2011- Bre’s first loss and a song that I had forgotten about altogether!
Senorita is forever going to be the anthem of bearding isn’t it?
Not a bad collection there. Stay Awake is a great tune and came closest to my votes, though Example’s singing was less than exemplary.
Stay Awake becomes the first big loss from my votes then and I'm not surprised by that, I knew it had a couple of fans on here but wasn't expecting it to get much further, and it feels quite forgotten now too but such a tune, an example of Example at his best!
James Arthur smashing it with what is surely the best X Factor winner's single (not that there's strong competition), and Hot Right Now has done well too. Amazed at Señorita being out already, very pleased about that as it's definitely one of my least favourite #1s of the decade.

2019 has taken rather a battering so far (though it only had twelve #1s to start with).
As producer, Calvin Harris would probably claim even more of the #1s which are left.
Thought I'd only lost my +2 but seem to have lost my +4 as well...
I've no idea what I voted for and my sent items folder is blank for some reason so will have to go back through the thread to find out!
Oh wow turns out I voted +4 for Perfect, who knew
I didn't vote for it but James Arthur's Impossible is actually my favourite of the X Factor winning singles. Leona Lewis, Alexandra Burke etc... went on to better things but I wouldn't say i'm a great fan of those first singles.
Hot Right Now and Stay Awake also get my seal of approval, Senorita less so...
NO 143- 35 POINTS
River Eminem Featuring Ed Sheeran (Voters: Mack- 16 points, Chrissmith276- 19 points)
No 1 for 1 week in January 2018- Eminem’s sole chart topper for the decade gives up the fight here but Sheeran still has two tracks left in.
Rude MAGIC! (Voters: King Rollo- 9 points, Riser- 12 points, Mango- 5 points, Scene- 9 points)
No 1 for 1 week in August 2014- And here’s our first song to get votes from 4 voters! Clearly MAGIC!- not so great for Scene who loses their first track.
Am I Wrong Nico & Vinz (Voters: JulianT- 26 points, Chez Wombat- 7 points, Ready for it- 2 points)
No 1 for 2 weeks in August 2014- Chronological chart toppers next to each other in the rate too!
All About That Bass Meghan Trainor (Votes: Ultra’s Version- 25 points, Jimwatts- 10 points)
No 1 for 4 weeks in October/November 2014- No treble here, nor a top 140 finish with all Meghan’s tracks out of the rate.
Louder DJ Fresh Featuring Sian Evans (Voters: Jason- 14 points, Bjork- 16 points, Rabbitfurcoat- 5 points)
No 1 for 1 week in July 2011- Both DJ Fresh’s chart toppers are now out in quick succession.
All About That Bass is incredible, one of the best #1's of the decade still a major bop and deserved better here, messT at me losing another big pointer x
Louder is also a banger!
the other 3 are varying shades of ew: am I wrong is dull af, river is so unnoteworthy & that other thing is one of the worst things of the decade
Talking of worst things of the decade, how the hell is happy still in
My first big one gone with Am I Wrong . I think it’s a glorious, though rather forgotten, song.
Also really like Louder, which has a very euphoric quality to it. All About That Bass is good too. Not keen on the other two.
In my mind I always associate 'Rude' and 'Am I Wrong' together, probably because they were both number one consecutively. Used to love both of them at the time but I think 'Rude' has stood the test of time marginally better than 'Am I Wrong' - not that I got back to either of them much these days.
Ah, there's another one of mine gone, although only two at this stage isn't bad going. Am I Wrong was a random but very infectious number 1 that I still fondly remember even if the public don't.
Am I Wrong was a nice little song really! Louder getting to the top was obviously a great moment but I don't go back to it much, the other three are a bit meh.
Of those Louder is probably the one that came closest to getting my votes. Am I Wrong is fine just a little mediocre for me. The other three... sigh.
The wrong River ahead of the good one.
MAGIC! is another song I forgot to vote. I still love it.
Glad that 'River' is finally out, really did not deserve to rank this highly among Ed's #1s, it's one of the most inessential singles by both artists involved :')
'Am I Wrong' is the best of that lot, I do still have a bit of a soft spot for 'All About That Bass' though x
Louder still sounds amazing, Sian Evans sounds amazing on vocals
NO 140- 37 POINTS
I'll Be There Jess Glynne (Voters: Sid- 22 points, Vibe- 15 points)
No 1 for 1 week in June 2018- Four down and three left for Glynne, its sales of 37k to make the top was the lowest weekly figure required in the whole decade.
In My Feelings Drake (Voters: Among Haus- 17 points, Bre- 20 points)
No 1 for 4 weeks in July/August 2018- Some have been wondering when Drake tracks would start surfacing- well here you go!- Four more to come…..
Love Yourself Justin Bieber (Voters: Jimwatts- 8 points, Mango- 18 points, Vibe- 11 points)
No 1 for 6 weeks in December 2015/ January 2016- The first solo Bieber track to bite the bullet
Ah there's the first Drake song to drop out then! Pleased that all of his got at least that many points, and this is far from his best chart topper as well imo so no complaints there. As for the other two, I prefer Love Yourself to I'll Be There but they're both OK really.
Three of the biggest #1 merchants of the decade there! I'm actually surprised all 3 songs have got this far, I thought Love Yourself would be my first or second nomination out, In My Feelings feels fairly forgotten for a 2018 #1 and I'm pleased I'll Be There isn't the last solo Jess song left in.
I actually quite liked 'Love Yourself' at the time, one of Bieber's better solo tracks imo although my favourite is still to come. 'In My Feelings' is alright, not his best nor his worst. It's a hard no on 'I'll Be There' from me.
'I'll Be TheeEEeeEEere'
I was expecting 'God's Plan' to be out before 'In My Feelings' - fingers crossed that 'Nice For What' will be the highest of those 3 anyway ~
NO 138- 38 POINTS
Talk Dirty Jason Derulo Featuring 2Chainz (Voters: Sid- 19 points, NickF1- 19 points)
No 1 for 2 weeks in September/ October 2013- Derulo’s second loss but he has two left!
We R Who We R Ke$ha (Voters: Among Haus- 26 points, Ready for it- 12 points)
No 1 for 1 week in February 2011- First of two tracks from Ke$ha
NO 137- 39 POINTS
We Can't Stop Miley Cyrus (Voters: Mack- 14 points, xajnipi- 3 points, rio309- 7 points, brokenrecords- 15 points)
No 1 for 1 week in August 2013- Some may be surprised that Miley loses her first entry before the top 100- certainly xajnipi might be as they lose their first song in the rate leaving just *Dandy and Campbell as the last remaining voters with all their songs left!
We R Who We R was decent but didn't get anywhere near my votes (and again is a little bit of its time now), the other two are varying degrees of bad, Talk Dirty being the less bad one of the two.
I'm very surprised that I'm one of the two left to still have all their votes remaining in contention, I'm not usually this well aligned with Buzzjack's tastes!
Talk Dirty, WCS and WRWWR all bops
I love Miley but We Can't Stop is far from her best work.
Hasn't this been a nice rate so far.........well no more as we have our first 30 pointer leaving us tomorrow.....
Absolutely loving this so far! So many great songs have been already, and so many more still to come! Think my taste in music is possibly more generic than I realised.
NO 133- 41 POINTS
Funky Friday Dave & Fredo (Voters: Bre- 12 points, Dircadirca- 18 points, coi- 11 points)
No 1 for 1 week in October 2018- This did better than I expected given this is Buzzjack.
Cold Water Major Lazer Featuring Justin Bieber & Mo (Voters: Among Haus- 27 points, JosephStyles- 14 points)
No 1 for 5 weeks in August/ September 2016- Justin down to his last 3 entries now.
Bang Bang Jessie J/ Ariana Grande/ Nicki Minaj (Voters: ultra’s Version- 5 points, AaronTM- 13 points, Chrissmith276- 23 points)
No 1 for 1 week in October 2014- First loss for both Jessie J and Ariana but they have 6 entries left between them!
Bom Bom Sam & The Woop (Voters: Jackjones- 7 points, King Rollo- 4 points, Riser- 30 points)
No 1 for 1 week in September 2012- So our first 30 pointer leaves the rate and it’s bad news for Riser!
I was listening to 'Bom Bom' just the other day actually, it's such a quirky and fun little song!
I've got no time for 'Funky Friday' but 'Bang Bang' and 'Cold Water' were both pretty good.
Great result for Funky Friday! I'm pleased that it got as far as it did on here. Cold Water and Bang Bang were decent too, can't believe Bom Bom has done so well though
Oh I do really like 'Funky Friday' but didn't quite have room for it.
I love Ariana but the less said about 'Bang Bang' the better glad that's her lowest #1 here.
I had the first 30 pointer to be eliminated on each of Gezza's last three polls so I'm glad I avoided that fate this time.
I think having songs out early is a badge of honour if anything - this was never meant to be an exercise in conformity. I’m fully expecting some of my top scorers to be out fairly soon and that’s fine.
I have a soft spot for Bom Bom - musically it was much cleverer than it got credit for I think. The other three are meh for me.
I maintain that Bang Bang is one of the worst songs ever made. A number of factors meant I barely followed the charts in the second half of the decade (hence the vast majority of my votes going to songs from 10-13), me thinking so many of the songs that were successful being absolutely terrible was one of those and that song was a huge culprit.
Bang Bang <3 So underrated nowadays, whew a bop and the vocal acrobatics throughout the song are iconic *.* Bom Bom is terrible but its such a bop at the same time idc.
The other 2 are up there with the worst of the decade
edit: I just realised that's Funky Friday and not Freaky Friday, still not a good song but worst of the decade is def too harsh x
Funky Friday is my favourite of those latest drop outs.
'Bang Bang' and 'Bom Bom' getting the same number of points Glad I wasn't the only one voting for the latter! And I'll graciously accept the honor of first 30-pointer to drop out
NO 131- 42 POINTS
Changing Sigma Featuring Paloma Faith (Voters: Stonedragon- 26 points, AaronTM- 5 points, Jester- 11 points)
No 1 for 1 week in September 2014- First of two songs for Sigma exits here.
Gettin' Over You David Guetta Ft C Willis/ Fergie/ LMFAO (Voters: Leonardo- 21 points, Campbell- 1 point, Nick F1- 20 points)
No 1 for 1 week in June 2010- Guetta has just 2 left whilst LMFAO have 1 left, but more importantly Campbell loses their first entry leaving *Dandy as the only voter left with all their songs in the rate!
No 130- 45 POINTS
OMG Usher Ft Will.i.am (Voters: Mack- 20 points, Vibe- 25 points)
No 1 for 1 week in April 2010- Will.i.am down to two entries now as his first (and Usher’s only) chart topper of the decade bows out.
'Changing' is probably the best of those three but I'm not majorly fussed about any of them.
They're all decent songs but I'm surprised they did as well as this, especially Gettin' Over You which is also my favourite of those three by some distance.
Yeah those three are tracks I would expect to see somewhere mid-table. All good but not standout, OMG is probably my favourite of the three
NO 129- 46 POINTS
The Power Of Love Gabrielle Aplin (Voters: JosephStyles- 3 points, Stonedragon- 8 points, King Rollo- 14 points, AH Gold- 21 points)
No 1 for 1 week in December 2012- Taking the top spot by just 1.4k it was another victory for the John Lewis Christmas campaign!
NO 128- 47 POINTS
We No Speak Americano Yolanda Be Cool Vs D- Cup (Voters: Bre- 13 points, AH Gold- 4 points, Jason- 17 points, Danuary- 13 points)
No 1 for 1 week in July 2010- Early decade dance and basically updating “Doop”.
NO 127- 48 POINTS
Get Up (Rattle) Bingo Players Featuring Far East Movement (Voters: coi- 23 points, King Rollo- 7 points, AH Gold- 18 points)
No 1 for 2 weeks in February 2013- It’s all about those ducks!
I thought I'd be one of the only voters for Bingo Players so I'm happy with how well that's done! We No Speak Americano was a good tune too but didn't quite get into my votes.
Not too bad a showing for Yolanda Be Cool there - was a great tune at the time and solidified as a classic by its use in the Inbetweeners movie. 'Get Up (Rattle)' is a solid banger too (and we stan the ducks), the less said about that Gabrielle Aplin cover the better...
The Power of Love is stunning only just missed my votes! We No Speak Americano issa bop too and I forgot Get Up existed
Was pretty close to voting We No Speak Americano & Get Up (Rattle)!
NO 124- 50 POINTS
Young Tulisa (Voters: Among Haus- 15 points, Riser- 25 points, Ready for it- 10 points)
No 1 for 1 week in May 2012- After mentoring Little Mix to victory in the X Factor we also gave her a No 1 single….
Troublemaker Olly Murs Featuring Flo Rida (Voters: Dot Branning- 29 points, AaronTM- 11 points, Gezza- 10 points)
No 1 for 2 weeks in December 2012- Another one of mine takes a fall, Olly only has one track left in the rate!
Club Can't Handle Me Flo Rida Ft David Guetta (Voters: Mack- 10 points, xajnipi- 9 points, Riser- 24 points, brokenrecords- 7 points)
No 1 for 1 week in August 2010- It’s the end of the road and the rate for Flo Rida as he loses his last two songs simultaneously. Guetta only has one left in the rate.
Troublemaker and Club Can’t Handle Me are both good - in fact I thought I’d voted for the latter but I must have cut it in the end.
It really reminds me of Summer 2010.
I actually thought I had voted for 'Troublemaker' oops but just checked my PM and it did miss out, as did 'Heart Skips A Beat', both would have been really close to my votes though, 'Club Can't Handle Me' would not be far off either (has held up a lot better than most songs of its ilk imo).
Wow at Tulisa finishing as high as that, I'm surprised. Troublemaker was OK but Club Can't Handle Me is easily my favourite of those.
Yeah I'm very surprised at Tulisa being that high 'Troublemaker' and 'Club Can't Handle Me' are both pretty good and have held up well over the years even though you don't hear them that much these days.
I think I liked that Tulisa song at the time but I'm frankly not curious to listen to it again in 2021.
Club Can't Handle Me is the best thing Flo Rida was involved in imo.
Time to lose another 30 pointer tomorrow!
NO 123- 51 POINTS
Drag Me Down One Direction (Voters: JosephStyles- 28 points, mango- 23 points)
No 1 for 1 week in August 2015- Only one 1D record left in the rate but can it make the top 100?
NO 121- 52 POINTS
Stitches Shawn Mendes (Voters: JosephStyles- 27 points, Riser- 17 points, AaronTM- 8 points)
No 1 for 2 weeks in January/February 2016- Mendes leaves the rate at the midway point.
Once Diana Vickers (Voters: Ultra’s Version- 3 points, AH Gold- 30 points, Rio309- 13 points, Garyfeld- 6 points)
No 1 for 1 week in May 2010- AH Gold becomes the second voter to lose their 30 pointer
A lot of X Factor related songs coming out this weekend! Like Young, surprised Once even made it this far. Its listed points only add up to 49 though?
Stitches is a nice song and Drag Me Down one of One Direction’s better ones.
'Drag Me Down' is easily one of 1D's best, I'm gutted it's finished that low. 'Stitches' is alright but Shawn's done better since. 'Once' is great, shame her career never properly took off!
Once such a bop and I'm surprised how much I still regularly return to it <3 Stitches is rly good too & I adored it in 2015/2016, but that on the other hand I rarely go back to nowadays so it just missed my points!
Drag Me Down is easily one of One Direction's best, pity it wasn't there highest scorer in this compared to what is still to come.
Once was a bop back in the day too.
NO 119- 53 POINTS
One Dance Drake Featuring Wizkid & Kyla (Voters: Alby- 8 points, Among Haus- 23 points, Mack- 19 points, Riser- 3 points)
No 1 for 15 weeks in April/May/June/July 2016- The decade’s longest running chart topper goes here- Drake has three left
In My Head Jason Derulo (Voters: coi- 21 points, Mango- 19 points, Nick F1- 13 points)
No 1 for 1 week in March 2010- Derulo’s first No 1 and a nice piece of “Beluga Heights” production.
NO 116- 54 POINTS
Shape Of You Ed Sheeran (Voters: Stonedragon- 10 points, marcinjaro- 5 points, Mango- 9 points, Garyfeld- 19 points, Chrissmith276- 11 points)
No 1 for 14 weeks in January/February/March/April 2017- Sheeran’s longest chart topper is out which leaves him with a sole entry left in the rate! This is the first track to get votes from 5 voters.
Want To Want Me Jason Derulo (Voters: Leonardo- 5 points, Sid- 26 points, Gezza-13 points, Nick F1- 10 points)
No 1 for 4 weeks in June 2015- Derulo is out of the rate with this, his most popular No 1 for Buzzjack.
House Every Weekend David Zowie (Voters: Dircadirca- 11 points, Jimwatts- 14 points, Scene- 20 points, Rabbitfurcoat- 9 points)
No 1 for 1 week in July 2015- No 1 by under 1k so it’s lucky to be here
Wasn't keen on any of the three that dropped out yesterday but today's five are a lot better, one of them I voted for and that's In My Head which is by far my favourite Derulo number one and I'm pleased that it came so close to Want To Want Me as I expected that to beat it convincingly.
One Dance was fine and no complaints about it finishing as high as this, I thought it would be lower on here. Shape of You managing to get a lot of low points from people but none putting it their top ten is interesting. And House Every Weekend was a good catchy dance tune, nice to see it getting as many as four voters.
The 2 longest running number ones out! I can't begrudge Shape Of You its success as it is a very well constructed song though very overplayed obviously. One Dance is one of Drake's best for me so I'd have liked it to be higher.
In My Head is much better than Want To Want Me in my view, though the latter was the bigger hit.
As for House Every Weekend, I can't forgive it for robbing Years & Years and generally being #1 following a rather flawed "week" of data.
1. Can't believe God's Plan beat One Dance
2 Ja-son-De-ru-lo
3. Always preferred Shape Of You to Castle On The Hill and his other songs it held to #2, though it's never been a huge fave of mine and I'm pleased Ed has one left.
4. Derulo again - that one gets played on Heart a lot
5. Another of mine out - awful name, yes Shine was robbed, but an infectious tune
Another few there that were close-ish to getting points from me ('One Dance', 'In My Head' and 'House Every Weekend'). Gotta love how we just lost both a 15 week #1 and a song that was only #1 for a single 5 day week (although of course it was still technically #1 for 7 days).
I don't mind House Every Weekend but Years & Years deserved #1!
I still find it completely unfathomable that One Dance is one of the longest running No 1s of all time! When you consider the (relatively) universal appeal of the other songs on that list, and I grudgingly include Shape Of You in that
In My Head is such a bop! The rest are horrible
'Want To Want Me' is decent, I especially like the "shits on the floor" lyric.
One Dance and Want To Want Me
Yeah I can't understand the appeal of 'One Dance' either (or Drake in general for that matter) but what do I know?
'In My Head' is head and shoulders ahead of everything else in that bunch, loved that first era of Derulo's
So far only Riser and AH Gold have lost their 30 pointer but another will leave today.....
Pleased that 'Heart Skips A Beat' is Olly's highest placing song!
I presumed that I had voted for 'Once' so it must have just missed out. That and 'One Dance' are my favourites to drop out since I last commented.
NO 114- 55 POINTS
Scream & Shout Will.i.am Featuring Britney Spears (Voters: JosephStyles- 2 points, Sid- 14 points, xajnipi- 1 point, Garyfeld- 8 points, Nick F1- 30 points)
No 1 for 2 weeks in January 2013- Becoming Will.i.am’s third consecutive No 1 in the UK, he also helped Britney get herself on the list of chart topping acts of the 2010’s- Nick F1 loses his 30 pointer though!
Roar Katy Perry (Voters: King Rollo- 10 points, AH Gold- 6 points, rio309- 5 points, AaronTM- 17 points. Mango- 17 points)
No 1 for 2 weeks in September 2013- Katy now has only one left in the rate now.
NO 111- 56 POINTS
Summer Calvin Harris (Voters: coi- 27 points, marcinjaro- 21 points, Jason- 8 points)
No 1 for 1 week in May 2014- Well it had to happen at some point and here’s Calvin Harris’ first loss of the rate- he has 7 left but he’s done very well to reach this point before losing anything!
Blurred Lines Robin Thicke Featuring T.I & Pharrell (Voters: Sid-17 points, rio309- 11 points, Garyfeld- 28 points)
No 1 for 5 weeks in June/ July 2013- Probably a record you couldn’t make now……Pharrell has three left
Hall Of Fame The Script Ft Will.i.am (Voters: xajnipi- 11 points, Donnahjaneymack- 16 points, Mango- 29 points)
No 1 for 2 weeks in September 2012- The Script’s sole UK No 1 bites the bullet and poor Will.i.am is also out of the rate.
Scream & Shout + Roar are both bops but both missed my votes! (the latter was quite close to making it, the former less so). Hall of Fame is just there & I hate the other 2 in that post
It's funny how I keep being surprised that I'm not in the list of voters when songs come out - just shows how hard it was to narrow it down to 30.
I really like Scream & Shout and Hall of Fame; the others I'm not fussed about.
'Hall Of Fame' I know it doesn't get much love on Buzzjack but that song gets me as soon as that piano intro starts playing. Funnily enough I actually played it this morning too!
Considering it was so big I'm not sure I could identify One Dance at all. Some ok songs come out recently that may have been in a top 50 of mine, quite like Roar and always had a soft spot for Blurred Lines, something I thought would get really annoying very quickly but never did.
Hall of Fame really felt like it was piggy-backing on the Olympics with the “do it for your country” lyric
Aww I lost another one. Summer is great but I'm happy to know there are still 7 Calvin singles left.
I'm too busy/lazy to check out all the pages of this thread, but I'm thinking I lost only 2 singles so far.
Surprised by Roar going out so early, deserved though as that's not one of her best in my opinion. Summer is the first of my top five to exit and I'm glad I gave it as many points as I did because my prediction that it wouldn't get too many from elsewhere was accurate in the end. The others are all sort of OK really, agreed with the idea made a few posts above as I tend to associate Hall of Fame with London 2012 now!
'Hall Of Fame' and 'Summer' are both abominations.
Scream & Shout 6/10
Roar 6/10
Summer 4/10
Blurred Lines 6/10
Hall Of Fame 5/10
I'm impressed that Under Control isn't the lowest of Calvin's #1s, it sure feels like the most forgotten by far!
NO 108- 57 POINTS
Closer Chainsmokers Featuring Halsey (Voters: SevenSeize- 19 points, Sid- 18 points, Garyfeld- 20 points)
No 1 for 4 weeks in September 2016- Only 4 tracks left from 2016
Somewhere Only We Know Lily Allen (Voters: Ultra’s Version- 14 points, Leonardo- 4 points, King Rollo- 17 points, Campbell- 12 points, Jason- 10 points)
No 1 for 3 weeks in November/December 2013- The second John Lewis associated chart topper and the third and final one from Lily Allen (to date).
Gangnam Style PSY (Voters: SevenSeize- 2 points, Dircadirca- 10 points, Mack- 12 points, Jackjones- 3 points, coi- 18 points, King Rollo- 12 points)
No 1 for 1 week in October 2012- the 80s had “Agadoo”, the 90s “Macarena”, the 00’s “Cha Cha Slide” so here we are in the 2010s….This is our first elimination to get votes from 6 of you!
Somewhere only we know ❤️❤️
Such a stunning cover and I’m gutted it only just missed the top 100, still get chills everytime I hear it 😭😍
2016 really wasn't a great year for number 1s so not surprised it's faring badly, but Closer is decent.
Lily Allen does really irritate me but that cover isn't bad at all and I do really like the piano intro.
Gangnam Style was... a moment.
Yuck at all 3 of those.
Although I have once or twice enjoyed 'Gangnam Style' in a club when I've been exceptionally wasted.
Love it or loathe it, you can't deny the cultural impact of 'Gangnam Style' so it's kind of a shame not to see it in the Top 100.
Lily's version of 'Somewhere Only We Know' is a nice cover but doesn't really hold a candle to the original. The other two there are both pretty good, as are 'Roar' and 'Summer' (and I liked 'Hall Of Fame' at the time though it's a bit of a cheesefest in retrospect x)
I always thought Keane were singing "sympathy". It was only when I heard Lily Allen's version that I realised it was "simple thing" as she pronounces it a bit better. I obviously prefer Keane's version but I like her cover as well.
I believe Gabrielle Aplin - The Power Of Love was the first John Lewis associated chart topper, Lily Allen was the following year!
The Lily Allen cover was obviously not as good as the original but it was still pretty good and up there with the best John Lewis advert songs. Closer was fine, and Gangnam Style was iconic and although it's a bit of a shame that it couldn't be in the top 100 here that's still a decent performance.
I find Lily's version an excruciating listen, mainly because she's trying to sing but actually can't. Plus it's spirit-crushingly dreary.
NO 107- 58 POINTS
These Days Take That (Voters: Among Haus- 16 points, AH Gold- 15 points, Riser- 27 points )
No 1 for 1 week in December 2014- The man band’s only entry in the rate just missed the top 100.
NO 106- 59 POINTS
Blame Calvin Harris Featuring John Newman (Voters: Alby- 4 points, AH Gold- 17 points, Gezza- 11 points, ChrisSmith276- 27 points)
No 1 for 1 week in September 2014- Together they have 8 tracks left to come but have we opened the floodgates on Harris’ hits?
NO 105- 63 POINTS
Solo Clean Bandit Featuring Demi Lovato (Voters: Among Haus- 6 points, Dircadirca- 15 points, JulianT- 19 points , JackJones- 6 points, AH Gold- 1 point, NickF1- 16 points)
No 1 for 1 week in June 2018- Our first Clean Bandit track to leave the rate- they have three songs left though,
Surprisingly low for 'Solo' but not complaining, very overrated song imo. I think 'Blame' is my least fave of Calvin's #1s.
Been a while since I last lost one of my votes - think I still have 26 or 27 left, wonder if they will all make the top 100?
The points are really jumping up now. I love Solo - not quite sure why but think it's something to do with the way the vocals are used to mimic different types of instruments and blended in with the strings.
Solo is the weakest of those for me, was OK but rarely wanted to play it by choice. These Days was pretty good and it's done better than I thought it would, and I enjoyed Blame at the time but don't go back to it much anymore, very happy that Under Control has made it even further than two of his other #1s! Hoping it can make it into the top 100, that would be a great result.
I was starting to wonder whether John Newman would be the last artist left with no eliminations who had 3 or more #1s during the decade, but he's been pipped by Clean Bandit - can't think of anyone left who falls into that bracket!
Oooh, I can finally make a positive contribution!
'These Days' is good, still give it the occasional listen and it was nice for them to get a surprise #1 with it!
'Blame' is one of my Calvin faves, like with 'Feel So Close' I'm a sucker for that distorted guitar riff sound.
We'll have another recap tomorrow as we reach No 101- along with what's left and more importantly who has the most points left to give on the voters list!
Oh and someone's 30 pointer just misses out on the top 100......
NO 103- 65 POINTS
Thinking Out Loud Ed Sheeran (Voters: Bre- 16 points, Mack- 11 points, Jimwatts- 28 points, Vibe- 10 points)
No 1 for 2 weeks in November/December 2014- It seems that Buzzjack has officially had enough of Ed Sheeran- his last song leaves the rate before we make the big ones!
Wings Little Mix (Voters: Dot Branning- 4 points, Stonedragon- 22 points, Ultra’s version- 4 points, AaronTM- 26 points, vibe- 9 points)
No 1 for 1 week in September 2012- Surprising exit for Little Mix here, seems we aren’t in love with girlgroups like we once were..
NO 101- 66 POINTS
Domino Jessie J (Voters: Alby- 12 points, JulianT- 20 points, Stonedragon- 14 points, Ultra’s Version- 9 points, Jason- 11 points)
No 1 for 2 weeks in January 2012- Amazingly, given Buzzjack’s opinion on her, Jessie J has managed to get a song into the top 100, but not this one that falls at the last hurdle.
Just The Way You Are (Amazing) Bruno Mars (Voters: King Rollo- 21 points, Sid- 15 points, xajnipi- 30 points)
No 1 for 2 weeks in October 2010- Two left for Bruno but poor xajnipi loses their 30 pointer just outside the top 100.
Not a fan of any of those really so no complaints at them falling short of the top 100!

Surprised Despacito is top 100. If I'm not mistaken, there wasn't much love for it on Buzzjack at the time.
Yes for Under Control, Sign of the Times, Price Tag and so many others left in the top 100.
My votes are starting to fall like dominoes (see what I did there). All 3 good songs that fall at the final hurdle there.
Thanks Gezza for all the hard work as always!
And as this is my 1,000th post thanks Buzzjack more generally. I came back to the forum in the first lockdown after a long absence and it's certainly enhanced the last year for me!
Just The Way You Are one of the best debut singles of all time
Wow I’ve still not lost one, I can’t recall any of these going so well for me before. Mr Mainstream.
Enjoying this thread ❤️
Now we've hit the top 100 I'll be posting three No 1's a day and there won't be any ties so:
Songs on equal points will firstly be separated by the number of voters who gave that song votes, and if that is the same then the highest individual points awarded to each track, and if that is equal then the weeks spent at No 1.
Very glad that I was able to help Airplanes make it into the top 100, and same for God's Plan, surprised that it got that many voters here!
Price Tag should've been much higher.
Price Tag is pure pop perfection in my eyes. Happy to have got that and Airplanes into the Top 100 - the latter being another of those forgotten Summer 2010 corkers.
That trio of 2013 Macklemore singles were all superb, whilst I listen to Same Love and Can't Hold Us more still, Thrift Shop is still great. Glad it reached the top 100.
Under Control even finishing above Promises!
I'm probably sliding down towards the bottom of the list of how many points are left from each voter though, my second fave of the decade going out there but I'm just delighted it finished as high as that, such a tune!
Poor Under Control.
It's underrated here but I'm not surprised.
That whispered chorus destroyed this song.
The UK version of BTS
Shame it beat Drag Me Down which is far better.
Do 5SOS still exist? She Looks So Perfect is very forgettable, Youngblood would have been a better #1.
Who’d have ever guessed that would be Joseph’s 30 pointer? It’s a very nice song but not one of my favourites.
She Looks So Perfect is a corker - it was interesting how it started off with a front loaded boy band chart run, going 1-10, but then really stabilised as it found a mainstream audience due to being a great tune.
Surprising to see 'Under Control' being ahead of so many of Calvin's other songs but it's quite underrated imo so not complaining ~
'She Looks So Perfect' and 'What Makes You Beautiful' are both still awful. They went on to make some better songs (albeit not many in 5SOS' case) but both started their careers on pretty cringe notes imo. 'She looks so perfect standing there in my American Apparel underwear' has to be a contender for one of the worst lyrics in any hit song ever lol
She Looks So Perfect followed me around the world when I was travelling in early 2014. Came back to the UK in July having no idea if it had even been a hit here, was pleasantly surprised to see it had been #1
All my faves leaving long before the end of this countdown. As always.
Great result for DVBBS & Borgeous! (Even if it did only come from three big fans )
Good riddance to 'Shout Out To My Ex' as well. Also was never a fan of 'Grenade', especially the fact that it denied #1 to 'Rolling In The Deep'
True, I would have preferred Rolling In The Deep to get to the top on Bruno's second week! Doesn't mean I'm gonna hate on Grenade though, one of Bruno's better songs imo (although I'm aware that's probably an unpopular opinion here)
Urgh the fact that Little Mix have some fantastic songs that never made #1, yet THAT is one of their biggest ever chart hits.
Shout Out To My Ex & Grenade
Haven't seen my name appear in the votes for a little while!
Nobody To Love very nearly got a 10th voter and a point from me too.
All good songs there, I came very very close to giving points to break up with your girlfriend, i'm bored too, glad it still did well despite that!
Ariana's over-rated. There, I said it.
'I Will Never Let You Down' though, what a tune that was! I wonder if the entire album of songs Calvin Harris allegedly wrote for her would have seen the light of day had they not split up.
Me and Jade giving a snap number of points to 'break up with your girlfriend, i'm bored' *.*
I loved that Sigma song at the time but it hasn't aged amazingly well, still good though.
I didn't think 'I Will Never Let You Down' would be anywhere near that low
Oh wow, my high scores for Ariana snapping with others (Bray's 18 and Aaron's 25!) *.* I've also lost Sigma and 5SOS now although those were much smaller points.
Aww, Nobody to Love was one of my first big pointers to go, have some really great memories of that
Give Me Everything could very easily have received a tenth voter here!
Mr Worldwide firmly in the top 100 *.*
Give Me Everything - where Pitbull rhymes Kodak with Kodak
Amazing how far Pitbull has come without a loss. Give Me Everything is my favourite of his - it’s a great tune.
Bieber really hit a sweet spot in 2015 and What Do You Mean has a lovely dreamy quality to it.
Find those Ariana songs a bit beige so not sorry to have lost them - that means just 3 left for 2019 as well as 2016! I can’t see either of those years providing anything that troubles the top of this countdown.
Oh! I forgot to vote for What Do You Mean?
I've not lost any of my songs since #106!
Shotgun & Are You With Me were both pretty close to my points!
Another one
Boo at losing those other two summertime #1s so soon!
Finally losing another song with Wild Thoughts after a run of 25 songs straight!
I didn't vote for Are You With Me? and Shoutgun but I love both.
Met at Wild Thoughts though. It's so high for my taste.
Awwwwww I've lost one! Was secretly hoping for the full top 30
Are You With Me? and Wild Thoughts finished equal in this rate but very much at opposite ends of the spectrum in my personal rate 😂
Shotgun
Wild Thoughts Best thing DJ Khaled did, thanks to Rih Rih ans Santana of course.
Tomorrow we'll be kicking out a track which got 30 points from two voters!
Yeah, 'Wild Thoughts' is probably the best thing DJ Khaled did but that's really not saying very much.
'Shotgun' was such a deserving number one, especially after it looked like George's chart career was faltering after 'Don't matter Now'. Love a surprise number one!
Still love 'Are You With Me' and go back to it a fair bit too, despite it already sounding very much of its time.
'Shotgun' got overplayed to a ridiculous extent but it's still a pretty fun song. I hated 'Are You With Me' at the time but I have kind of warmed to it over the years.
I like all three of those! Are You With Me was the one I voted for, and I certainly agree with those saying Wild Thoughts is DJ Khaled's best song.
Yes that would have been my guess
All Time Low
Definitely one of my all time favourite boyband songs - and again reminds me of Summer 2010 which was just full of unique tunes.
Another really good set! All Time Low was a great debut single for The Wanted (and my favourite of theirs) and I'm amazed it finished that high! As I said when Cheryl's other songs dropped out, Call My Name is by far my favourite of her number ones, and Look What You Made Me Do remains Taylor's only number one but at least it was a pretty good one!
'Look What You Made Me Do' being Taylor's only UK #1 is an embarrassing factoid that needs to change ASAP x
All Time Low did better than I was expecting. The Wanted's masterpiece.
Taylor.
All Time Low is brilliant, I always thought the Wanted were the best of the early 2010s british boyband crop. Call My Name is probably the last decent thing Cheryl put out. Taylor Swift looks destined to follow in Prince's footsteps with her only #1 in no way being one of her most memorable.
'Call My Name' is way too low, mess
Wow at both of The Wanted's #1s ended up higher than all of One Direction's #1s!
^ still love this song !!
'Glad You Came' is probably The Wanted's best so it's only right that it finishes higher than 'All Time Low'.
'What's My Name' is from one of Rihanna's best eras so even though she's had better songs it's still good to see that this high.
'Love Me Again' (and most of John Newman's output in general) I can take or leave.
3 great songs there.
I didn't care for 'What's My Name?' at the time but it's grown on me so much over the years. Easily my second favourite single of that era after 'Man Down'.
Didn't quite have enough room for it in my votes. Neither John Newman - that song was a #1 in my personal chart at the time but hasn't aged brilliantly.
So happy to see the 2 Wanted's number 1 singles in the top 100.
Finally lost another of my votes (albeit only barely), I really loved 'What's My Name?' at the time, it hasn't necessarily aged the best but it's still pretty close to if not my favourite Rihanna song.
'Love Me Again' of course also an iconic BuzzJack song for those who were there to witness the iTunes thread the week it came out xx
'Man Down' is a great song but I kind of doubt it would have been a huge hit even if it was fully pushed?
Well it made #54 on just downloads, everything else from that era smashed, it was a fan favourite from the album and many critics also singled it out as an album highlight so I don't see why it wouldn't have been at least a top ten hit if fully pushed. Unfortunately we'll never know!
Once again three really good songs that couldn't quite get into my vote, I loved Sweet Nothing a lot at the time and that was the closest of the three to making it, and pleasing that Heart Skips A Beat and Wrecking Ball are Olly and Miley's highest entries here as they are my favourite #1s from both!
I don't think I've lost any of mine since number 108.
Yeah, another three great songs there, love all three of those, just not quite enough to include them in my points!
Nothing bad to say about those three either, all great. The first two got points from me and I still love Wrecking Ball, I just think it's not as good as some of Miley's more recent output.
The Olly track remains his best by far!
Ooh another big pointer dropping out for me with Olly. My favourite #1 of his by far <3 although 'Dear Darlin' is still his best for me overall.
'Timber' is another that was a #1 in my chart at the time but hasn't aged brilliantly. Definitely takes me back to being at a NYE 2013 house party! So yeah that didn't quite make my votes, neither 'Wrecking Ball' or 'Sweet Nothing', but both of those are solid.
Timber is my favourite of those three, really liked it at the time but don't go back to it that often, the other two I just found a bit annoying after a while
I wouldn't have predicted DBSHOY to have got 100 points, but I'm happy to have helped make that happen (albeit in a very small part), it's her best solo song by some distance.
I never really "got" 'Don't Be So Hard on Yourself', it's so utterly generic and bland.
I think 'Hold My Hand' is unquestionably a better song, except just ruined with overplay and that Jet2 advert.
Moderately disappointed my +30 didn't land at #69.
Personally find those three a real downgrade on the last couple of updates!
The first two are alright but just bang average and the Jess Glynne is just an annoyance.
Ah I've just lost quite a few songs there.
Surprised I didn't give points to Love Me Again though - maybe an oversight on my part!
Very impressive result for rockstar, I'm surprised it had as many as eight voters!
'rockstar' <3 that song reminds me of doing work experience at Your Cat magazine and being perplexed that it had blown up so much during that week but it grew on me really quickly and nowadays I consistently enjoy Posty's output. I generally like Little Mix but could never get into 'Black Magic', very plain.
'Feels' is quite good but not enough of a favourite to make my votes. Definitely best listened to while on holiday in a hot country.
'Black Magic' is decent enough but does sound pretty dated already, I'm surprised it ended up this high.
'Feels' is still a fun listen.
I don't really have anything good or bad to say about 'Rockstar'.
'Black Magic' has been such an essential part of many nights out that it's only grown in my affections since its release.
