Looks kind lf rubbish tbh but I'm here for Winslet so hopefully it'll be good in the end. It kind of reminds me of Everest/Deepwater Horizon which weren't bad so here's hoping it'll be decent!

This was quite cute, I guess. I don't think I'd have enjoyed it as much if Kate Winslet wasn't the lead (because she's one of my favourite actresses working at the moment) but the film itself was decent enough to keep me entertained. The cougar scene was quite tense but it probably peaked there for me and it didn't reach those levels of tension again. I wasn't keen on the multiple fake death cliffhangers which seemed a bit cheap but ultimately I am glad they stayed alive as I did grow to like the characters. They did seem bit more friends though than lovers which made the third act seem a little forced too in my opinion but that's just me being picky really. It has enough going on to make the survival thriller side of the story work so I can't complain really laugh.gif

I found this a pretty good survival story. A few drawbacks were that it was a bit drawn out in places & it kinda fizzled out to a rather clichéd ending.

The real star of the film was the dog though, talk about resilience & invincibility!

Kate Winslet asking what type of cookies the character of Ben had with him - good to know she had her priorities right in such a situation! (also her first thought being the dog when the plane was breaking up in the sky heehee.gif)

Pretty rubbish in the end, I didn't care for the characters so I was hoping it was going to end when they sat down together in the snow and that they were going to die. Would've made a change for Hollywood. I wanted a survival story rather than a romance and I wasn't buying the relationship. The cougar part that Josh mentioned was one of the best for tension, the bit where Alex falls through the ice wasn't as tense as the trailer made it look and was resolved rather easily and quickly I thought.
