This should be good, Miley doesn’t really do high profile collaborations although wouldn’t say Mark Ronson is huge in America!

Hopefully this is the start of a new era for solo Mark Ronson (the Silk City stuff doesn’t feel like him, tho a nice side project!) although I can see it being more for a new Miley era!

I remember rumours of a Mark / Miley / Gaga track before but haven’t heard much else of that since.

It's called "Nothing Breaks Like A Heart". They are going to perform the song on The Graham Norton Show on December 7.

This could set up Miley nicely for her next era if done correct - similar to Bruno with 'Uptown Funk' but probably on a much lesser scale.

At the same time I wouldn't be surprised if it just passes everyone by.

I have no idea what to expect from a new miley era if I'm being honest, she's the most popular act out of Demi etc and she doesn't really do guest features unlike the other two and 'Malibu' debuted and peaked at #11 which was an impressive debut but 'Younger Now' deservedly flopped. I think if she plays it smart she could have another incredible era but I have no idea.

I don’t think she’ll do well next era. She is not bigger than Demi right now either lol.

How can you judge an era based upon not hearing anything yet? I'm sure she will be just fine with iTunes and streaming if the music appeal is right.

How is Miley not bigger than Demi? Every single campaign from Miley has outperformed Demi's albums minus the last one but that's because Miley never went down the commercial route and wasn't on any features. 'Malibu' debuted #11 in the UK and went top #10 instantly in the US and outsold 'Sorry, Not Sorry'. Demi's album outsold Miley but it's not like the album sold any either. Have you seen the amount of albums miley has sold? Miley is more marketable and will always be more talked about than Demi and if Miley went for chart success (hi demi) then she will outperform Demi on every platform possible.

Selena is the airplay queen in the US though.

miley is a way bigger name than demi lol. Shes had one underperforming album whereas most people could name you one demi hit. I’d say in the UK demi’s biggest hits were when she was featured.

I don't know about the USA but Demi Lovato isn't really a thing in the UK, while Miley Cyrus has had a few big hits over here...

Solo was huge though and with that and the unfortunate events recently, I can easily see her smashing if she feels ready to release new music.

I agree, I doubt Joe Public would be able to name a single Demi song whereas with Miley, Wrecking Ball at the very least was undeniably gigantic in its impact. Solo was a #1 yes but I expect most known it as a Clean Bandit song with a random female vocalist...

Having said all that, I don't know why all of a sudden a Mark Ronson x Miley track is a guaranteed smash - they're both incredibly inconsistent both in terms of quality & commercial success.

Mark has shared a clip of this on Instagram:

He's described it as the heartbreak era. Sounds good from the very short clip!
