I'm not exactly her greatest fan, but I'm failing to see an issue with anything she's said in that article.

Care to elaborate?

Well, abolishing the HoL, rather than merely reforming it, would remove one of the important checks in our democracy.

Working class boy made good off his own hard work & graft, sure. How's that different to John Lennon tbh? Except the lack of being a wife beater...

Well you asked for a non-racist example, and since eminem is white, it must be that.

The policies were extremely popular. There was no fighting against the media, the elite, social media lies and brexshit at the same time. Corbyn was the most smeared politician IN HISTORY.

If *that* loss was in spite of popular policies, then it's just as well they didn't have unpopular ones... rolleyes.gif

I bet they'll choose her mainly because she's a woman. Okay say she loses badly in 2024 then she can resign and let Keir step up. Boris could even increase his majority. ohmy.gif

For an election lost due to policies, look to the 1980 one where the SDP had just as many votes as Labour. Lib Dems, the centre, were DESTROYED. Tories increased by 1% and Farage caused massive swings from Labour thanks to brexshit and utter disgusting lies and character assasisnation vs Corbyn. That's it

Erm, the Lib Dem vote went up by four percentage points. The Labour vote slumped by eight points.

Due to brexshit and character assassination. People didn't flock to the Lib Dems' old-fashioned centrist policies. The centre is now irrelevant.

Finished by an increase of 1.2 million votes? OK.

1. There was no election in 1980

2. The LD's didn't even exist in 1980!

I assume he means 1983 when the Lib/SDP Alliance got almost as many votes as Labour. Of course, thanks to FPTP, the Alliance got 23 seats and Labour 209.

What an utterly terrible policy. It’ll just deepen unmanageable debt — during a global pandemic and during the worst recession in our life times — for the poorest section of society. Beyond weak.

For god's sake. That's a policy that will hit the voters Labour needs to be helping - a very Tory policy to be demanding rent arrears from a section of society forecast to have severely limited supplies of money. :/

Do you mean they shouldn't pay back the arrears at all? I'd have thought allowing them longer was a good idea! No private landlord is just going to let them off the amount they owe. I think most will apportion it over the next few months to their monthly payments. Not demand it in one go.
