Early thanks to our host for not only hosting but initiating this whole idea, it’s been great fun and it’s appealed to a wide range of people. I’ve enjoyed being a part of it and hope to do so for the next edition too!

Will be interesting to see what does well or not here. I'm predicting a PSB win just cause they are extremely popular as are Depeche Mode. That said wouldn't totally surprise me if something more obscure triumphs tbh.

No clue how mine will do but hopefully not too badly.

I think I'm predicting a PSB victory also. Paninaro is a good track and they typically have a wide following on here so even discounted votes may be enough to storm to victory... but we shall see!

1. Jade

Jade started off by sending the wonderful Waves by Blancmange but then changed her mind and entered this song from 1984. I'm glad she did as I don't think I've heard it before. Vicious Pink were a duo from Leeds (Josephine Warden and Brian Moss) who started out as backing singers for Soft Cell. Cccan't You See was their third single and biggest hit, reaching number 67.

Great choice from Jade - still think the radio version may have been a better bet but I guess the extended version suits the theme of the contest more *.*

2. Chez Wombat

It was Chez who entered this instrumental from the soundtrack to the 1982 science fiction film, Blade Runner. The soundtrack album wasn't released until 1994.

After 2 votes:

1. 22 Charlie - Spacer Woman
2. 22 Hashim - Al-Naafyish (The Soul)
3. 15 A-Ha - Scoundrel Days
4. 9 Depeche Mode - Strangelove
5. 8 John Foxx - Underpass
6. 7 Alexander Robotnick featuring Martine Michellod - Problèmes d'Amour
7. 7 Camouflage - The Great Commandment
8. 6 A Flock Of Seagulls - I Ran
9. 5 Naked Lunch - La Femme
10. 5 Vicious Pink - Cccan't You See (French Extended Mix).......Jade
11. 3 Soft Cell - Memorabilia
12. 3 Psyche - Misery
13. 2 Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark - Telegraph
14. 2 Book Of Love - Boy

There's a tie for first place after Jade and Chez both put Charlie and Hashim in their top 2. A-Ha are the only other act with a double figure score. 11 songs are still without a point.

Waves is a fantastic song which, even with any familiarity discount, would have got points from me.

I always assumed Bladerunner was a late 70s movie.

The radio edit would definitely have made sense but just went with my preferred version!

Not at all surprised to find out that Chez was behind that one kink.gif

ph34r.gif I at least tried to be subtle x

Can't not be sending the haunting soundtrack to one of my favourite films wub.gif I was worried you may be pedantic with the 1994 release date but pleased that wasn't the case x

I'm hoping the winner isn't something too obvious (like PSBs), there were some really great under the radar discoveries here.

Oh yes I did initially go with Blancmange (and their ‘Rio’ with less of a budget video kink.gif) but then changed my mind to something that didn’t make the top 40 at all. Glad ‘Waves’ has its fans too heart.gif
