The BBC have confirmed today details of 'Playlisters', a new music quiz show for Saturday evenings on BBC One to start next year. Rochelle Humes, from Buzzjack favourites The Saturdays, and her JLS turned Capital DJ hubby Marvin Humes are the hosts.
Press Release This sounds like a quite fun show actually! I love Rochelle and Marvin anyway so they sound like a good fit for this. I'm imagining this will be on the early Saturday evening slot that Pointless Celebrities usually occupies, given 'The Greatest Dancer' starts in January in the slot where 'Strictly' usually is. The show's now gonna be called 'The Hit List' and has been confirmed for a start date of Saturday, 25th May for a six week run on BBC One at 7:30pm: https://www.bbc.co.uk/mediacentre/proginfo/...22/the-hit-list
Reading the setup for the rounds for this, I would so smash a show like this - I'm sure a few Buzzjackers would too! |

This would be incredible I'm in if you want me. I'm virtually unbeatable on the 70's and good on the 60's and 80's too but would be let down by the newer stuff but you younger ones could do those. Used to go to pub pop quizzes when I lived up North but got banned from nearly all of them for winning every week. This post has been edited by Common Sense: May 12 2019, 03:45 PM |

Surely be better than BBC's other game show attempts on a Saturday night in the last few years. Who Dares Win has been the most successful one, I would say. Don't mention Len's Rhyming Game Show or whatever it was called.

An ok start, it was fun but it did feel a little slow. Way too much chat and not enough music in my opinion.

The first round was a lot slower to the other rounds.

Is it worth catching up on? The show is 45 mins long, but it does takes its time for the quiz to get going with 10 minutes worth of introduction and innate chat. First round is very slow, at this stage I was starting to yawn, last two rounds went pretty quick, its a bit like marmite, do I watch it or not. I reckon its going to be one of those quiz shows that will get dropped after one season. |

bring back an updated Pop Quiz! Pop stars showing how much (or little) they know about pop music. 30 minutes and good fun.

It's just seemed to be another version of Name That Tune. They make it sound like an original concept.

Well I loved this and already want to go on it as a contestant Me too! I absolutely loved it. Probably needs a tiny bit of fine tuning in terms of how much time there is before they get to the rounds but as others have said but I was actually screaming the answers at the TV going 'I could do better than them'. If you're doing that at a quiz show it's a sign it's a winner. |

I did love being able to almost play along myself given how much I know the subject matter, it was a bit too lovey-dovey and kitsch as a show though and yeah, way too much chatter, they need to find a way to balance the rounds better.
