BuzzJack Music Forum _ Pop _ Shakira - El dorado

Posted by: Liаm 17th May 2017, 02:38 PM

What is it with all these quickly announced and released albums? laugh.gif Shaira has announced her 11th, bilingual, album is just a week away.

01 Me enamore
02 Nada
03 Chantaje (ft. Maluma)
04 When A Woman
05 Amarillo
06 Perro fiel (ft. Nicky Jam)
07 Trap (ft. Maluma)
08 Comme moi (Black M & Shakira)
09 Coconut Tree
10 La biciceta (ft. Carlos Vives)
11 Deja vu (Prince Royce & Shakira)
12 When We Said (Comme Moi English version) (ft. MAGIC!)
13 Toneladas

Chantaje is an absolute jam so I have some hope for this although Me enamore is a bit flat for me, it's good but nothing great. She defnitely seems to going for a reggaeton sound overall, which is obviously in at the moment with Despacito being #1 but she won't get a hit from it unless she chucks Justin Bieber on Chantaje rolleyes.gif

Deja Vu is a jam too, looking forward to this.

FYI, the album is called El Dorado and not Me Enamoré, which is only a single.

Posted by: Liаm 18th May 2017, 03:56 AM

Oops knew that I had the song on at the same time and ended up typing it laugh.gif

Posted by: Bjork 18th May 2017, 07:28 PM

La bicicleta is also very good
Instead of bieber
I'd rather she had a duet with Drake

Posted by: Yeasty Clutch 18th May 2017, 07:42 PM

My god she is shit now.

She became shit ever since she got with Pique.

Everyone is copying the Beyonce but without the hype or fame!

I have literally zero interest in this. All the songs she's released so far range from bland to awful.

Posted by: blacksquare 18th May 2017, 09:34 PM

Chantaje is a banger - of all the songs she decided not to do an English version of.

Everything else is basic and mediocre.

That sounds great, sometimes her sounds was too much latin, hope in the new one she 's gonna work with just a bit latin style and alot of pop music

Posted by: Regina 27th May 2017, 10:39 PM

Unusually for Shakira, this album's ballads are much better than the uptempos. Coconut Tree >>>>>>

Amarillo has to be a single. I hope she can at least try to get a hit again in the UK after Despacito, Chantaje could've been massive here sad.gif

"Perro Fiel" is the next single and the video should be coming on Friday (although she first posted a pic from the video back in July!) so I'm not holding out hope. "Me Enamoré" is a contender for my song of the year but unfortunately this is nowhere near as good. She's already released all the hits though; the English songs on this album absolutely suck but I'm sure she'll continue her Spanish/Latin American hit streak.

Boring video, no idea why it took her so long to release it. She still looks so bloody young though, how does she do it?!

Posted by: MoistSummerFruit 17th September 2017, 12:12 AM

Botox, lighting, make up.

Posted by: MoistSummerFruit 17th September 2017, 12:13 AM

You'd look the same with her money.

Liking this album tbh, or at least the singles, from what I've heard

I'm addicted to her current single "Perro Fiel" (featuring Nicky Jam) at the moment wub.gif

So she just announced the new dates for her worldwide tour (originally scheduled from October 2017) including one show at the O2 Arena in London and I got tickets! 😁 I have no idea who I'm going to go with but I am SO excited!

I'm total, they were £75 each standing including fees. The cheapest were £45 excluding fees.

Wow, these things cost a lot of money these days...! I do want to see Shakira one day.

I would get tickets too if the concert wasnt on a Monday... sad.gif

Chantaje was the song of early 2017 and the predecessor for Despacito's success worldwide. Doesnt it have like 2 billion views on Youtube? It is in the top 5 of most watched female videos in the platform.

Yeah I think I actually paid more than I did for Gaga 😐 It's her only UK show though and I imagine there's demand, hence the price.

It was for me too and "Me Enamoré" was the song of spring and summer! I'm not surprised that its YouTube hits are so high, Latin music gets much more views because the majority of countries that it's popular in don't have Spotify so it's the primary streaming service.

"Trap", the other Maluma collaboration, is the fourth single and the music video will be out at 2pm tomorrow.

Posted by: Midge 26th January 2018, 01:55 AM

Surprised they've gone with "Trap", a pretty dull choice really given how good the album is :/

Posted by: rafik4u 26th January 2018, 12:41 PM

I couldnt resist and got my tickets for London! I am so happy, the whole Spanish British community will be there cheer.gif

Trap is good enough and Maluma will help this become another massive worldwide hit for Shakira.

What countries where Shakira is popular dont have Spotify? All major latin markets do.

United States, Mexico, Spain, Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Hondura, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, France, Portugal, Italy...

It may be just that Latin countries are more into watching music videos on repeat than just listening to a song. Or also they prefer to watch them on Youtube for free than paying premium subscriptions. Also Latin music video production and quality has increased significantly recently.

Oh idk then. I assumed you're right about them preferring free streaming on YouTube then? Brazil has ~4x the population of the UK but their Spotify chart streaming numbers are almost identical to the UK's.

Such a weird video!

This album won Best Latin Pop Album at the Grammy's last week, which somehow is only Shakira's third ever Grammy Award, although she does have 12 Latin Grammys.
