BuzzJack Music Forum _ Kylie and Dannii Minogue _ Cherry Red Kylie Box Sets - Half Price

Posted by: ___∆___ 29th July 2018, 10:19 AM

I’ve been updating my Kylie/Dannii collection so that I have doubles and sealed copies in my collection.

I bought all the Kylie Cherry Red box set reissues (CD, Picture Disc Vinyl, DVD, Poster & Book) when they were first issued but wanted extras. The Cherry Red official website now has them at half price for £29.99 - Let’s Get Too It has already sold out but might be of use to some of you that don’t have them already.

Ordered a back up copy too - it’s my favorite album cover and looks so good on the box set.

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 29th July 2018, 07:17 PM

It's a great album I have always loved it.

Further reductions on the Cherry Red website - the box sets are £24.99. Great price as the box sets are amazing!

The standard CD and CD/DVD sets have also been reduced.

Posted by: liamk97 23rd November 2018, 10:32 AM

Wow, incredible prices there considering what you get!

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 23rd November 2018, 12:25 PM

Def value for money.

Yep by far one of my favourite ever reissues - the picture disc vinyl is worth £24.99 alone tbh!

Posted by: aeroco 23rd November 2018, 04:29 PM

They are well worth it, love mine.

Posted by: ___∆___ 25th April 2020, 01:07 PM

Just got an email from the Cherry Red website and they have 10% off everything this weekend with the code LOCKDOWN10.

They still have a few of the iconic Kylie re-issues left - the box sets with the code are £22.49, a steal tbh considering they were originally £60! https://www.cherryred.co.uk/artist/kylie-minogue/

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 25th April 2020, 02:22 PM

Loads are out of stock cry.gif which is both good and bad.

Posted by: pippa 25th April 2020, 03:11 PM

At those great prices they will sell, which may suggest why some editions are already showing as sold out. Very attractive releases to add to any Kylie collection.

Yep the ‘Let’s Get To It’ box set regularly sells for £200+ on eBay! It’s was one of the first to sell out and they seemingly didn’t make as many of them as they did the other 3. So pleased I got it when it was released - I nearly didn’t as I was going to wait for it to go down in price as it’s my least favourite PWL Kylie album and I didn’t think anyone would be interested in it either - I was clearly wrong kink.gif

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 25th April 2020, 03:39 PM

Ya you can understand why less were made as they would have been aware it's not held in the same regard as her other 3 pwl albums. Some people really do pay out a fortune for some releases which us annoying when they become much cheaper later on in some cases.

Posted by: pippa 25th April 2020, 03:49 PM

I really applaud the fans who can invest in all such releases.
The prices at times for these releases are scarily high and not affordable in my house no matter how much I may like to have such a release.
£200 for any album is robbery.

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 25th April 2020, 03:58 PM

The problem is vultures get their hands on rare releases and sell them online to fleece genuine fans who want it for their collections similar to concert tickets.

I just buy things on release now as I know there are so many people that will snap up Kylie releases to make a huge profit.

The same happened with her SBIT picture disc vinyl - it sold out immediately and now sells for £100+. I’m glad all the ones trying to make a profit out of the ‘Golden’ Christmas silver cassette got stuck with them though as it’s still available now on her website laugh.gif

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 25th April 2020, 04:55 PM

I'm delighted that the people that snapped up the cassettes are left with them as they wont make anyway off them. Generally though these people making a small fortune for themselves.

I'm hoping these four albums are reissued on ordinary vinyl at some point in time. I'm not really a fan of picture discs. I've never really been tempted by these box sets, no matter how cheap they become!

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 25th April 2020, 05:46 PM

The big thing I'd love to see released is an impossible princess vinyl.

I’d love this - I still have the originals but I wish they would just release bog standard reissue vinyl’s that are not limited and readily available like Madonna etc., have done with their back catalogue. There is such a demand for vinyl that they are missing out by not having them available.

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 25th April 2020, 05:49 PM

Ya the releases should be available all the time at standard prices which I hope happens with IP if its eventually issued on vinyl.

Posted by: ___∆___ 25th April 2020, 05:52 PM

Don’t get me started on IP drama.gif It’s the one fans have been waiting for and BMG own the rights to it so there is no reason why they shouldn’t reissue it’s tbh - they know demand is there for it and for Kylie vinyl in general as was proved by the Golden and SBIT releases.

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 25th April 2020, 05:53 PM

There was rumours it was happening a few months back so I hope it becomes a reality.

Posted by: pippa 25th April 2020, 06:08 PM

So many Kylie fans crave the Impossible Princess vinyl.
With them knowing the demand they should push ahead and release it.

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 26th April 2020, 08:05 PM

Kylie mentioned this last year so I'm really hoping it will happen later this year.

Posted by: ___∆___ 27th April 2020, 11:22 AM

Seriously they just need to give it to us now and also stop with all the ‘exclusives’ like they did with KM94 as a Sainsbury’s exclusive but it’s actually available on Amazon.

The interest in ‘Light Years’ when it returned to the Top 40 proves how much interest there is in Kylie vinyl - LY could have easily been a consistent seller for them had they made it available permanently.

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 27th April 2020, 01:31 PM

Def agree there is an appetite there for it so release and have them available all the time.

Posted by: pippa 27th April 2020, 07:13 PM

Demand for vinyl is high and acts of Kylie's calibre can sell vinyl all year round.
All of Kylie's albums need to be easy accessible on vinyl all of the time and not just available for extremely limited time periods.

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 27th April 2020, 07:57 PM

The problem with limited and exclusive releases is the wrong people get their hands on them and flog them online at crazy prices, if the albums had regular long terms availability it would cut this out.

Posted by: pippa 28th April 2020, 10:09 PM

It would help erase that but more importantly it allows fans to make a choice of when they would like to purchase the release.
For some, money may not be readily available when the exclusive is released and miss out.
Long term availability allows people to purchase at a time when disposable income may be available.

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 28th April 2020, 11:21 PM

Ya fair point, it gives people a choice of when they want to buy if readily available which would also mean more sales in the long term

Posted by: pippa 29th April 2020, 11:39 AM

With her online store at the least is where all the releases should be available.
With the increase in vinyl sales, Kylie would pick up extra casual sales if displayed in various shops selling vinyl.

Posted by: Jay ☆ 29th April 2020, 03:08 PM

I do find it incredibly strange how her back catalogue is being mishandled. I feel like her labels have really missed a trick over the past 5 years, considering the huge increase in popularity for vinyl. Fever and Light Years proved how in demand Kylie vinyl is, yet they had them available in such limited quantities in one supermarket, essentially just for 1 day.

It was annoying for UK fans to have to rush to Sainsbury's and probably find empty shelves because someone had already bought all the copies to sell them on to eBay. I mean, at least UK fans had a chance. It was worse for international fans.

I'm sure Parlophone could have stood to make a lot more money if they hadn't been so limited. Fair enough, make the coloured versions limited, but why didn't they swiftly follow up those releases with standard black vinyl pressings? unsure.gif Such a missed opportunity.

There's only two studio albums readily available on ordinary vinyl currently: Kylie Minogue [1994] and Golden. Most of her other albums are out of print, or haven't even had a first time pressing yet.

Impossible Princess not existing yet is certainly a mystery... what are they waiting for? Clearly it's one of the most sought after Kylie items for fans and collectors. Now that it's been a while since the last Sainsbury's exclusive, I hope that association is over with tbh. Impossible Princess needs to be an online pre-order so that all fans who want it can get it. Also, where are Body Language and X! It's unbelievable that an artist like Kylie still doesn't have her entire set of studio albums available on vinyl.

Posted by: pippa 29th April 2020, 03:51 PM

All your outlined points are on the money.
The vinyl availability for her calibre is terrible and they need to work on it.
Kylie is very aware of the demand for her albums on vinyl so she needs to work on its availability
If Impossible Princess makes its way to vinyl on wide spread availability it will showcase the interest in this format.

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 29th April 2020, 04:15 PM

I think it will happen eventually but if they were out now it would keep her albums selling but I can def see vinyl IP selling very very well.

Posted by: pippa 29th April 2020, 06:25 PM

If readily available how many vinyl Impossible Princess sales would you forsee on its first week of release?

Agree with all of this.

So many female artists now have their back catalogue on vinyl such as Madonna, Kate Bush, Ariana Grande, Janet Jackson etc., it just makes no sense not to have bog standard versions of Kylie available, they would generate huge interest in week 1 and then continue to trickle sell.

Universal have such a good direct to consumer website now and they are constantly releasing back catalogue vinyl and having them on offer for £9.99 or £14.99 - a huge money maker I’m sure to be able to sell an album again to people that probably own it multiple times already on various formats over the years. Team Kylie have totally missed out on the ‘trend’ and KM94 was particularly messy - they touted it as a Sainsbury’s Exclusive yet it’s fully available on Amazon which they should have just promoted it as such.

The one that bothers me the most is the lack of Impossible Princess especially as BMG own the rights! It makes no sense for them not to want to capitalise on Kylie after 2 #1 albums!

The right formats could easily generate enough for a Top 20 return in the current climate IMO. They could have a ‘standard’ vinyl that is available all the time along with some limited editions (Picture Disc, Coloured Vinyl etc.,).

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 29th April 2020, 06:47 PM

The lack of IP is def the big one missing and the fans have spoken regularly and loudly about how much they want it, they just need to push ahead with it.

Posted by: pippa 29th April 2020, 10:05 PM

I have a good feeling that Impossible Princess, the vinyl, will be with us this year.
If widely available, I think 5,000 sales is manageable on release week.

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 29th April 2020, 10:54 PM

5k would be amazing, I think 3k would def happen, 5k could get it top 10 on so many weeks of the year, if that happened it would be bloody brilliant. 3k would get it minimum top 40 and possible top 30.

Posted by: ___∆___ 30th April 2020, 06:28 PM

I’d be more than happy with it returning to the chart in any capacity especially as it’s initial run was so tragic 10-22-41-70-out-91 drama.gif I’m forever thankful that it actually made the Top 10.

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 30th April 2020, 06:51 PM

I was so nervous for that chart on IP release week, initially I was so relieved it made top 10 and after I was so happy about it. I'd just love to see it back in the charts again.

Posted by: pippa 30th April 2020, 07:00 PM

It will always be the Kylie album that deserved so much greater.
An unknown great album to many, many who are fans of
her other work.
The vinyl, if released, will be mainly those of us who already own the album buying it again in a new format
